Love Story using Gums and Roses

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing a set of layouts that I like to call Twin Pages. This is because they are very similar, usually mirrored or copied, but not identical. I find pages like this really simple and easy to create, they also go quite nicely on opposite pages in a scrapbook. I highly recommend giving “Twin Pages” a go if you are hoping to at getting a few pages beautiful layouts done quickly! I have used two of the Gumnut Garden papers from the Gums and Roses Collection because they already have a pretty frame printed on them which was easy to add too.

To create this project I have followed the steps below:

I hope I have inspired you with my twin pages using the Gums and Roses Collection today. I have loved using this beautiful collection! I also highly recommend to try out a set of twin pages when you are next in your craft room (or space) and I would love to see any that you create so please share them.

Beautiful – using 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi Everyone, I was so very excited to be asked to join the 2Crafty Chipboard Design Team – I would like to share with you my very first project using their wonderful chippies!!! so here is a layout I created using a selection of the beautiful products.

I wanted to create a layout using beautiful florals, flourishes and butterflies, so I chose these lovely Chipboards to add embellishment to my layout.

Once I created a base for my layout using a couple of beautiful papers, I then set to work painting my chosen chipboards with white paint, I didn’t want it to look to perfect, so it was quite quick and easy.

I love to add stitching to my projects, mainly on the papers but the long border chipboard has perfect little holes on it – so I had to add some colour coordinating stitching.

I love to also add height and dimension to my projects and this chipboard is perfect for doing that, once painted I started to shape some of them.

I then arranged all my fussy cut flowers and chipboard embellishments around my photo.

I shaped and layered up the beautiful Chipboard butterflies and added a pretty rhinestone to the centres.

I tucked some of the flourish & thistle Shrub chipboards in and around my photo to finish.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to use chipboards on your projects, shape them and layer them to give height and dimension.

You can find lots more images and close up’s on my Instagram page: The Fussy Cutter

Today and Everyday using Gums and Roses

Hi Everyone,
Today I would like to share with you a quick and easy multi photo layout using the Gums and Roses Collection. I wanted to challenge myself to use more than two photos on a layout this month, so I have created this layout to achieve that goal. I have also made my own flowers for this first time that are featured on this layout. I love the 3D effect that these flowers have.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  • Find the centre of the layout and make a cross
  • Adhere two landscape and portrait photos (all 11 x 10.2 cm) alternating to the centre
  • Fussy cut the “today and every day” element from Everyday Moments and foam tape to the centre of the layout
  • Fussy cut some of the small flower clusters from Fussy Cuts Eucalypt Posey and layer under the “today and every day” element
  • Glue Pink Flowers to the flower cluster in each corner

I hope I have inspired you to create a beautiful multi photo layout with the Gums and Roses Collection today.

Brothers Love using Gums and Roses

Hi Everyone,
I have tried something different with the Gums and Roses Collection today. Although I love the pinks in this collection, I wanted to challenge myself to create something more suited to a baby boy. For this layout I have focused on the Watercolour Cut-Apart Sheet of this collection and the Uniqolour Markers.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  • Adhere Eucalypt Posey to cardstock
  • Take a photo with dimensions of 9.5 x 9.5 cm and frame with Kaisercard Arctic Weave Cardstock cut at 10 x 10 cm before adhering the the centre of the layout

I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful using the gorgeous roses of the Gums and Roses collection and the Uniquolor Markers today.

To create this project I have followed to steps below:

  • Cut some of the words from the bottom strips of this collection and adhere between, and to either side, of the photos.
  • Fussy cut elements from Sunny Village – Paper 07 and adhere to layout to make the clusters more 3D.

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout with the Sunny Village collection to document summer memories.

Best Friends with ScrapBoys Butterfly Meadow

Hello, it’s Karen here with my final page using the beautiful Butterfly Meadow by ScrapBoys. These papers are ideal if you are a fan of fussy cutting as they provide unlimited opportunities for getting out your scissors or craft knife.

For this layout I started by gutting a 1 inch frame from Paper 06, I trimmed a piece of Coal Kaiserweave Card to 11.25 square and stuck it to the frame, smooth side showing

From the remaining piece of Paper 06, I cut a piece 9in x 4.5 ins and fussy cut around the right side.

I also cut a piece 4 x 3, fussy cutting the left side.  Finally, from the remaining piece of
Paper 06, I cut a 3 ins x 6ins and fussy cut around the right side

I added the 9 x 4 piece to the left of my page and the 4 x 3 piece to the right.  I tucked the 3 x 6 ins piece under the piece on the left of my page.

04used a piece of Paper04 to mount my 4 in square photo and also to back my title which I made using Ebony Alpha Stickers.

My photo  was added to the bottom right of my page with the title at the top right.

I fussy cut a selection of butterflies from Paper 07 and added them to the clusters of flowers on either side.

I cut the words ‘Happy Memories’ from the branding strip of Paper 06

As a final flourish – I added some Coral Paper Blooms and Orange Rhinestones.

I hope I have inspired you to make something beautiful using ScrapBoys
Butterfly Meadow .

Summer Days with Sunny Village

Hi Everyone,
I hope you have all had good summer capturing memories along the way. I know I certainly have! I have used some of my summer photo’s on this layout that I have created using the Sunny Village Collection by ScrapBoys and the Uniqolour Markers. I fell deeply in love with the sunflowers in this collection. They remind we of summers growing up, my mum always had sunflowers growing in the garden. So I have run with a yellow and brown on white theme with this project.

To create this project I have followed to steps below:

  • Take an acrylic stamping block and a yellow UNIQOLOUR MARKER, scribble onto the block and then use the water brush to water it down as desired, turn the block over and “stamp” the water colour onto the layout. I have added the watercolour on the inside and outside of my inked semi-circles.
  • Fussy cut the two circle frames from SUNNY VILLAGE – PAPER 05, including removing the centres.
  • Size, cut and adhere photos to centre of the frames.
  • Foam tape framed photo to layout, each inside a semi-circle.

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout with the Sunny Village collection to document those memories captured this summer.

Family Christmas – Emerald Eve Collection

Hi Everyone,
I love this photo of me and my sisters and brother taken…….well over 45 years ago (I think) we don’t have many photo’s of us when we were young, but I do love this one. The Emerald Eve collection was just perfect to scrap it, the colours matched beautifully.

Products Used: Emerald Eve Collection – P2964 Christmas Pine x 2|P2965 Fir Tree x 2|P2968 Mistletoe Magic x 2|P2970 Emerald Leaves x 2|P2972 Fir Sprigs x 2|

Other Products Used: UCE1729 Gold Pearls|SB713 Pearl Pearls|KM132 Gold Kaisermist. For the wood effect base paper, I used one from my own stash – You can use P2967 Rejoice paper

Here are some brief instructions to create my layout

  1. Cut the Fir Springs paper down to 12 x 12 to form your base.
  2. Cut the Fir Tree paper down to 29.5 x 29.5 cm, mat onto base, leaving only an edge of the base showing on the right hand side and bottom.
  3. Cut the Rejoice paper down to 28.5 x 28.5 cm, mat this onto your layout.
  4. Sew around your layout.
  5. Splatter some gold Kaisermist all over your layout, mostly in the top left hand corner and bottom right hand corner.
  6. Fussy cut lots of elements from Christmas Pine’s & Emerald Leaves papers and the stars from Mistletoe Magic papers.
  7. Mat your 10cm wide x 14cm high photo onto your layout, then arrange all your fussy cut elements around it, in the top left hand corner and bottom right hand corner, use foam pads to give height and dimension. From the other paper, cut some 0.5cm green and gold strips, tuck these around your layout, top left hand corner and bottom right hand corner. Add some gold and pearl pearls to the centre of your stars.

Below are some close ups of the layering, you can also find more on my Instagram page – The Fussy Cutter
