It’s always exciting to see how other crafters and scrapbookers use Kaisercraft’s fabulous products and we were especially excited when we saw these stunning projects completed by Emma Williams.

We asked Emma to create something beautiful using Kaisercraft products and her first project was a stunning Beyond-the-Page Handbag Tidy decorated with papers from Kaisercraft’s Miss Nelly collection. You can find out more about how she made this on her blog.

Her second project was a fabulous layout using the Her Voice die cut paper and Printed Chipboard from the Miss Nelly collection. You can find more details of Emma’s layout over on her blog.

I love this photo of Merley when she was a baby. It was taken during a day out in Morecambe when, like you do, we bought some ice cream. It was actually Merley’s first ever Ice Cream and she absolutely loved it even though it got a bit messy as you can see.

I have had this photo pinned on the board above my desk for about 8 years now. I have been meaning to use it in a layout for some time but the colours are very bright so finding the right collection was a bit difficult – until Kaisercraft’s Party Animals collection came out !

I used the reverse of the Woo-hoo paper for the base and half of the Tee-hee die-cut paper over the top. The Chuckle Gloss Varnish Speciality paper was perfect for cutting out all the little animals (the monkeys are so cute !). I used a variety of papers and cut strips to layour under the photo and the banner came from the sticker sheet. The Sunrise thread from the Sew Easy Fancy Floss Variegated Secondary pack was a perfect match to the colours of the layout so I used it to sew a Zig-Zag all around the layout.

I especially like this photograph of Merley (taken while we were on holiday in Germany) and I wanted to surround her beautiful smile with other beautiful things. The delicate colours, subtle patterns and pretty images of the Pink Gelato collection were just right for this.

Pink Gelato is a great collection if you like to cut out – there are lots of flowers to layer and the bicycle looks great when cut out and layered. The yellow stitched bursts were done using the Sew Easy tool (which I love) and the long lengths of scalloped blue and pink border come from the Pink Gelato sticker sheet which is quite new to Kaisercraft. The pink stripy paper and all the newspaper-clipped words come from the paper pad.

When I started this layout the idea was to use up all my scraps of similar colours of papers. Unfortunately that’s not quite how it worked since I decided that I just had to go with a complete collection,  in this case the Kaisercraft Dancing Jewel collection, since it worked particularly well with the colours in the photo.

The photo on the layout was taken several years ago just after my daughter had started Reception year at school. We took this photo of her when she arrived home especially happy after a good day at school.

A Dancing Jewel Layout

I cut lots of strips from the Dancing Jewel Collection, inked round all the edges and then stuck them to the French Vanilla Bazzill Cardstock. I also cut out and layered some of the Dragonflys and flowers from the same collection. The Black Rub-ons from the Secret Bird Society collection worked really well with the Dragonflys and the rhinestones add sparkle to the layout.

The design of the layout was inspired by a class on Two Peas in a Bucket and by my friend Karen (thanks Karen, xxx).

This lovely photo had been waiting for two years to be scrapped and then, when the Kaisercraft Bubblegum Hills Collection was released in March, I knew that, with it’s gorgeous Butterflies, I’d found the perfect papers for the photo.

The photo was taken at my sisters wedding. It was a lovely day and Merley and her two cousins were having fun playing and running around the garden in their pretty dresses, like butterflies flitting around in the sun.

Little Girls and Butterflies

I used the reverse of the Sherbet paper from the Candy Lane collection (with its subtly distressed pink patterning) as the background and cut out lots of Glitter Butterflies from the lovely Fruity Galaxy Glitter paper to layer along a stitched line (created with the WRMK Sew Easy tool). I used a few of the border strips from the Candy Confetti paper and cut out and layered the flowers from the Calipso Punch paper. The Bubblegum Hills collection has some fabulous rub-ons so I used a combination of both the colour and black ones on this layout. The rub-on saying ‘Little Girls Like Butterflies Need No Excuse’ (from RB916) couldn’t be any more perfect for this layout.

I love this photo of me when I was a little girl since it brings back many childhood memories. It especially reminds me of the clothes my Mum used to make for my sisters and I.

In the photo I’m wearing a dress made from lots of off-cuts of material bought by my Mum. My two sisters had similar dresses made from the same material but Mum would change the look of each dress by using different colours in various places. So one sister had lighter coloured sleeves and another sister had a different colour collar.

Me and my dress - a Timeless Layout

The Dress Form paper from the Timeless collection was just perfect for this layout as I wanted the focus to be on the dress making rather than me as a little girl.

I’ve added some Kindyglitz Glitter glue to the layout and to the Wood Flourish Butterfly to give some sparkle. I also added a simple button and thread detail and used the Lovely Lace stitched paper from the Homemade collection to highlight the sewing and dressmaking theme.

Here is a list of the products used on this layout:

Other products include a button, brown thread, Alpha Stickers (for the ‘ME’) and a few odd chocolate pearls.

I just love this photo of Merley on the trampoline…it amazed me how it captured her in mid air with her skirt and hair in full swing. Merley came up with the words “Trampolines make your hair rave” which says it all really.

The big circle is the “Skip to it” die-cut paper (which nicely mirrors the trampoline theme and provides a fabulous frame for the layout) that I stamped with the Bubble Wrap clear stamp to add a little interest to the background. For the word “Bounce” I used a Sizzix alphabet die set, inked the letters with a pink ink pad and finished it in Crystal Lacquer.

Bounce - a Hey Birdie Layout

I finished the layout with a tiny bit of hand stitching (beneath the tree) and by covering the birds, leaves and parts of the tree with Crystal Lacquer to add some shine.

The Love Notes collection, with it’s cute birds and foliage, is the perfect match for these photo’s that were taken at Kew Gardens in London in 2009. It is a fantastic place to visit and Merley had a great time playing among the trees.

The Rub-on along the bottom of the layout (‘It’s her beauty that captures your attention. It’s her personality that captures your heart‘) is from the Candy Lane Collection… I thought the words fitted the pictures perfectly.

Cherish - a Love Notes Layout

I carefully cut out the flourishes, leaves and hearts from the Promise paper (from the Love Notes collection) and used Crystal Lacquer and black Pearls to give them shine. The photos were originally in colour but I’ve printed them in black and white to match the colours of the Love Notes collection.

The stitching around the edges of the layout was done using the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool (with the standard head) and DMC embroidery thread.

The Homemade collection is perfect for homely pictures. And what could be more homely than relaxing on the couch on a peaceful Sunday afternoon (unless, of course, someone decides to get the camera out and start taking pictures)…

For this layout I used the fabulous Homemade paper collection to reflect the cosy, warm subject of the photo. I added buttons, stitching and lace as well as cutting out images of scrabble tiles, cross-stitch and a cuckoo clock from the papers.

Cuddle on the Couch - a Homemade layout

To give the photo a more homely feel I used Picasa’s “warmify” option when printing out the photo – I think it works really well. Wamify is just one of many great effects available in Picasa and similar image manipulation software – sepia, saturation, glow and soft focus can all be used to add a twist to your photos and make them really stand out on your layout.

I was over the moon when I first saw the lovely Homemade papers and embellishments since I have loads of photo’s that fit with the colour and theme of this collection. Here is a layout using Homemade and some other Kaisercraft products.

As well as the Homemade papers I have also used a paper and the stamp set from the gorgeous Secret Bird Society collection. The photo’s were taken on a family holiday to the Lake district where we had a lovely little cabin by the waters edge – the colour of the water and of the distant hills perfectly matched the blues in the Homemade papers.

The “Treasure these Memories” words are stamped using one of Kaisercrafts new mini stamps (stamped onto acetate and layered over paper for extra effect). The background paper is one of the fabulous stitched papers from the Homemade collection.
