Mixed Media Basecoat scrapbook layout

Hi there

Elaine here again bringing you my latest project using the , oh so versatile, Basecoat IV collection.

imageNow, if you are anything like me, you will have lots of collectables and pieces of left over collections and stash and this new Basecoat IV selection is the perfect way to use up ¬†some of those… or why not treat yourselves to some new ones to add to your stash?

For this layout I used the Scraped patterned paper. I then took the Diamonds Designer Mini Stencil and used  Ranger Modelling paste to create the background.

imageOnce this had dried I used the Kaisercraft Clear Butterfly stamp and a text stamp similar to the Together Clear Stamp to add more interest.

imageNext I took the Abstract Art paper and cut three pieces approximately 9″ x 4″ and used both sides.(I had cut the photos down to 3″ x 6″ and 3″ x 3″ already). I then distressed these papers and layered them in random directions behind the top layer with photos on.

imageI then added lots of collectable die cuts from the Generations collectable pack together with some from the High Tide collectables pack and added them around the large photo layers adding in cheesecloth and a twist of dark blue Hemp Cord from the Ocean collection beneath the layers. I also added a coin from my travels as the photos were taken abroad whilst on holiday. You may like to use some of your holiday coins in a similar way? I finished it off with a few other embellishments from my stash and a title using white foam Thickers alphas. What a clever collection to make you use up your leftovers.. a definite must to add to your stash!
