Hello, Karen here with my first post for October and this month I am working with the absolutely stunning Starry Night collection featuring lots of navy with gold foiling. Although this is a Christmas range I wanted to use it for non-Christmassy photos.
When I saw the Magic paper it reminded me that I had a photo of Gracia, taken six years ago when she was going to Josh’s graduation ball and wore a black dress with gold sparkles.
For this project I have used magic, Daring, Glowing and Astounding 12 x 12 papers, Caramel Kaisercard, Sticker Book, Curios, 6.5 x 6.5 Paper Pad, Collectables, Foil Pad, Curios and Deep Yellow Rhinestones.
I started by gutting a 7.5 x 5.5 piece from the centre of the Caramel Kaisercard and set this aside. Then I trimmed .25in from the bottom and one side of the magic paper and added this to the centre of the Caramel Kaisercard.
I cut the small gold spot strip from the Astounding paper , adding this to the bottom of my page. Next I used a border punch to create two gold strips using a sheet from the Foil Pad, I overlapped one on top of the other to make a long strip which I trimmed to 12 ins wide (I saved the remaining scrap to add above my photo) and added above the gold spot strip.
I trimmed a 5 in strip from the Glowing paper, trimmed .25in from one side and fussy cut along the top of the flowers. This was then added 1 in from the bottom of my page.
My 7 x 5in photo was mounted on the piece of Caramel Kaisercard that I had gutted previously. This was added to the centre of my page with a piece of punched gold added at the top between the card and the photo.
I fussy cut two large and two small flowers from Daring paper I also cut two flowers from the corresponding paper in the 6.5 x 6.5 Paper Pad. I snipped each flower along the petals, leaving a small area in the centre intact. This enabled me to curl them downwards to give them a nice shape. I layered the three sizes of flowers up and added one either side of my photo.
