Making Memories with Morning Dew

Karen here with my first layout using the very pretty Morning Dew collection. There has been great excitement in our household this month as our daughter got engaged and this range was absolutely perfect to document photos of the event.

For this layout I have used Jade Weave Cardstock, Calming and Exhale papers , 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Sticker Book, Collectables, Flourish Pack, Decorative Die Floral Circle Frame, Decorative Die Fern, Decorative Die DIY Flora Peony, Smoke Ink PadA4 Art Foam – Lagoon and Pearls Ice Green.

I started by choosing five words from the Flourish Pack and then heat embossing them with silver pearl embossing powder. I have to admit I did panic a bit when they started to smoke but fortunately they were ok.

I then used an ink pad to colour some of the birds dark grey.

In then went on to try making flowers with some Art Foam and Decorative Die DIY Flora Peony.  I was curious as to how easy these were to make and the answer was very easy!  I started by using the die to cut six large flowers and six small flowers.

I then inked the edges with KaiserInk Pad in Sea Breeze.

To give them some shape I followed the instructions here.  I was really pleased with the final result.

I started by cutting .25in from the bottom and one side of the Calming paper and .75 in from the bottom and one side of the Exhale paper.  I mounted the Calming onto my Jade Weave Cardstock and the Exhale onto the centre of this.

I then cut two pieces of paper, from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad to 6.5ins x 4.5ins and added them to the top of my page at a slight angle.  I added a piece of turquoise tissue on top of this. I cut two die cuts using the Decorative Die Floral Circle Frame and a scrap of white card. I added my photos, leaving room to tuck the die cuts underneath.

I added flowers and leaves from the Flourish Pack and two inked birds to each top corner and flowers and leaves to the centre of the photos. I chose two butterflies from the  Collectables pack.

Next, I arranged my heat embossed words across the page, underneath my photos.  I added three of my foam flowers to the centre bottom of my page and cut two Decorative Die Fern leaves from a sheet of paper from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

Finally I used one of the stickers from the Sticker Book for my title.

I am pleased with how shiny my heat embossed flourishes came out and especially pleased with my foam flowers, which I shall certainly be making again.  If you have been inspired by these, the dies for the peony and other flower shapes can be found hereIMG_8483
