Emmy here today with my second post for April. It is another one with Kaisercraft’s Story Book collection, but this one it is all about books and stickers. To create the background I used three different papers. I cut two 10 cm stripes from the Books pattern paper, ruffled their edges and adhered them at the top and at the bottom of Kaisercard Vanilla Weave Cardstock. Then I cut a 12 cm stripe from the Library Card pattern paper, embossed it using Embossing Folder, 6×4 – Ornate Flourish Plate and adhered it in the middle of the Vanilla Cardstock. I added different stripes using the Book Covers foil paper and the Sticker Sheet and I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold and KaiserMist Spray Ink – White on top. I also used Cream Lace to complete my background paper.
To frame my picture, I used a book cover from the Book Covers foil paper. I removed the inner part and inserted my picture. The main sentiment I cut off from the Bookplates pattern paper, rounded its corners and adhered it with Mounting Foam Tape above the picture.
Then I adhered the flowers (Paper Blooms – Terracotta and Paper Blooms – Sunset) and arranged the die cut foliage around them (Kaisercard Vanilla Weave Cardstock, Kaisercard Licorice Weave Cardstock and gold cardstock; Decorative Die – Foliage).
I added a few die cut geo tags to the flowers cluster (Decorative Die – Geo Tags). I used various stickers from the Sticker Sheet and die cut elements from the Collectables pack to embellish my page. I took the book die cut, shaped it a bit with an Embossing tool and adhered the quote from the Sticker Sheet. Then I outlined some of the words using Gelly Roll Pen – White. The clock faces are also from the 12″ Sticker Sheet.
I don’t know if you’ve seen them, but Kaisercraft has released amazing Colouring books and wonderful Kaisercolour Gel Pens to match them. I have Mystic Treasures at home and I can tell you that the imaged are whimsical and cute and there is something for everybody! The paper is thick and even if you apply three layers of colour, which I did, it won’t leak through. Also, the binding of the book is very strong! I had to put a lot of effort into taking the page with the dragonflies out…
