Hello Today 2015 Album

Hello Everyone, Pam here.  Happy New Year!!

I wonder how many of you intended to document 2015 in some way?

When I saw the fabulous Acetate Months sticker sheet that comes with the Hello Today collection from Kaisercraft, I wanted to make a month by month album for the whole of 2015. Now I must confess that I find it hard to make pages in advance of taking photos, so I have kept this album fairly simple. I envisage that I will use a lot of photos on the pages, since each double page spread should contain a month’s worth of events.

To make the album I used a Kaisercraft Recipe Album. This album is roughly A4 size, and made the construction of the pages straightforward.

So, here is a photo heavy post to show you the album, all ready for the photos to be inserted as the year passes. First, the cover:

Then I added a cluster of embellishments to decorate the front cover. I used some of my own die cuts together with some of the Collectable die cuts.

P1160811_edited-1TIP: I found the acetate Month stickers very tricky to manage. They can tear easily and are very sticky. I found the easiest way to use them was to cut them into smaller pieces-just one or two letters. That way you can handle them more easily and the joins are virtually invisible if you are careful.P1160830_edited-1

P1160813_edited-1 When I began the pages I started to add some random stamp effects and journalling spots, but as I went on I decided I would rather add these after I knew which photos I would be adding and how much I wanted to journal. So you will see that my later pages become much plainer. Basically, for each page I stamped some borders, and added a cluster embellishment.P1160814_edited-1P1160815_edited-1 P1160816_edited-1

I will use these cut out circles for journalling:P1160817_edited-1Some pages are card stock cut into a 12″ x 9″, like the May pages:P1160818_edited-1

P1160819_edited-1Some pages are made from a 12″ x12″ piece of card stock folded at the 3″ point to form a pocket, like the page on the left hand side of the June spread. These pockets can be used to keep additional photos, memorabilia or journalling in. The pocket flaps have all been covered in patterned paper:P1160820_edited-1

I used a some plain cardstock die cuts throughout the album-the cogs, the doily and the arrows. I also used some of the stamps from the Hello Today clear stamp set for page borders:P1160821_edited-1I used black, white and kraft coloured card stock for these pages throughout. These coordinate beautifully with the paper collection.P1160822_edited-1Each page has a monthly calendar cut from the Mod paper in the collection:P1160823_edited-1 P1160824_edited-1P1160825_edited-1 P1160826_edited-1

The white stamping has been done by spreading a thin smear of white gesso onto a craft sheet, and using this as a stamp pad:

So that’s it! Now I have an album all ready to document 2015.
