Hello All, Linda here with something slightly different today using the fantastic Time Machine Collection, a layout that is a working clock!
Gadget paper was trimmed to 11 3/4″ and used as the base to allow a small border. For my last layout “Always time for a Nap” I used the central circle from the Acetate as I had plans for the outside here, so I carefully trimmed the outside edge too having marked 12, 3, 6 & 9 with pencil dots on the base for reference.
I reversed this paper to create another circle and began laying them out as below. My photo is 5 1/2 x 4″ which was then mounted onto a mat of the Ironclad equivalent in the paper pad. I also added a piece from Scriptorium trimmed for the words which I divided into two behind my photograph.
Top Tip – stick Acetate with Crystal Lacquer to disguise it – I added it behind the print so it can’t be seen.
Once assembled, I added the clock from Scriptorium on mounting foam for dimension the added the letters. The smaller clock face was added just above too. White dots with a gelly roll pen and plenty of Crystal Lacquer gave extra definition.
Clock mechanisms can be bought quite cheaply on the internet and are very easy to fit, this was one I had from an old kit. Once your papers are stuck down, push a pokey tool through and remove excess paper – I used the Kaisercraft tool kit as it has a set of thin files in.
Check back in a few days for another project from our lovely design team.
