Back to Basic with cards

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a sunny weekend – here’s hoping!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today using the beautiful Back to Basics Collection – I really think this is becoming a fast favourite!

The first is an 8×8″ white card onto to which I have layered with Cookie Kaisercard and Kraft Damask, both sides. I always gut my papers as it makes the finished card lighter and also saves lots of paper.  The layers below came from two pieces of card/paper.

I used some Coconut Kaisercard to create a small plaque and added the happy couples names using a Sizzix alpabet.

Then had a play with the new Decorative Flower die and some pink Damask & Stripe papers. I used the rose technique from this tutorial but cut into the petals too. My edges are all inked using Distress inks.

Once the roses were in place, I cut leaves and swirls with Coconut Kaisercard and tucked them behind, filling the gaps with more Decorative Flowers from the pink Damask & Stripe.

My trusty Martha Stewart punches were used for the flower centres and more fronds plus butterflies.

The second is a 6×6″ card base which I have layered with Seabreeze Stripe and Damask, plus Cookie Kaisercard. The centre panel was spritzed with Turquoise Kaisermist, below. Another must have product, it shimmers beautifully.

I added a line of lace and a stamped sentiment from the Confidence set then got the dies out again. Three fronds were cut with Berry Vine using Cookie & Island Kaisercard and Orange Damask paper plus the small flowers from the Decorative Flowers die and a small punch.  These were shaped and layered and added to the bottom of the card over the fronds using glue gel for dimension.

Punched butterflies were added with Crystal lacquer, glitter and pearls to finish.

Take care
