Birthday Butterfly card with Indigo Skies

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here today with a brand new project featuring the lovely Kaisercraft collection “Indigo Skies” (available at Merly Impressions’ online store). For today’s post I decided to create an “exploding box” card filled with butterflies and birthday wishes.MI-Birthday-card - Copy MI-Birthday-card-a - Copy MI-Birthday-card-c - CopyAnd here is a short step-by-step on how I did it.

Step 1: Using Kaisercard Navy Weave Cardstock create the base for the card-box. Draw nine squares, 10 cm each and cut out the corner ones. Score the middle square on each side. MI-Birdthay-card-det-aStep 2: Cut nine white squares (9,5 cm each) from Kaisercard Coconut Weave Cardstock and nine 9 cm squares from pattern paper. Ink their edges with Black ink pad before adhering them together. MI-birthday-card-det-bStep 3: Using a nesting die cut different sized layers from cardstock and pattern paper.MI-birthday-card-det-cStep 4: Assemble the side panels by adhering the layers using Mounting Foam Tape. Add a sentiment from the Paper Pad and the Sticker Sheet as a final layer. Sprinkle KaiserMist Spray Ink – White and KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold on top of all the layers. MI-birthday-card-det-dStep 4: To create the lid, cut a 16×16 cm square from Kaisercard Navy Weave Cardstock. Score at 1,3 cm from each side and again at 2,5 cm. Make a cut only on 2 of the sides and glue the corners in place. Fold and glue the second layer to secure the lid. MI-birthday-card-det-eStep 6: Decorate the lid as shown on the image below using die cuts from the Paper Pad and Collectables pack. For the flower cluster use Paper Blooms – Iceberg, blue hemp (Mixed Hemp Cord – Ocean) and die cut foliage (Decorative Die – Mini Foliage).MI-Birthday-card-lidAnd here are some more close ups of my project: MI-Birthday-card-det-e (1) MI-Birthday-card-det-e (2) MI-Birthday-card-det-e (3)Add Glitter glue to enhance words on the sentiments.
