More Male Cards

If you saw my previous post, then I’ve already admitted to not being a card maker! Having lots of male birthdays meant that I had to overcome my fear of card making and create some cards for friends and family.

My card designs are always very basic (therein lies my problem!)  The Attitude! 6 1/2″ paper pad has 24 patterned papers and 12 speciality papers. I love the camouflage paper that I used to wrap the pocket. It has black glossy areas giving it a very tactile finish.

The pocket features a die-cut from the Attitude! Collectables, I then added a sentiment and alpha stickers from Attitude! Sticker Sheet.

A simple tag is decorated using the very lush Graffiti background stamp.  This adds great texture allowing me to top off the tag with another die-cut from the Collectables.

Again, layering the papers and other textures makes a very simple card stylish!

Having made so many cards, I did have lots of off-cut pieces.  Banners are a brilliant way to make use of those precious leftovers.  As the 6 1/2″ paper pad has so many glazed papers, it makes the banner really stand out.

For my last card – I used the banner idea again but made it much smaller.  The metallic background paper from the 6 1/2″ paper pad makes a perfect base to add more layers.

This super-easy design can be made quickly if needed.  For a more complex card, you could always add more layers to the banner.

Well five cards in one month is a world record for me!  I think I wouldn’t have been able to achieve so many if it weren’t for the Attitude! collection which I adore.  The beauty of these papers is that they can be layered so easily together and won’t date, so it’s a really good idea to hoard the left over pieces to use on projects in the future!

Thanks for popping in.

  1. Male cards are so much harder to do and I think you’ve done a fab job! I really like the metal grid patterned paper! Nice touch 🙂
