Hello it’s Ali here to share a little idea with you today 🙂
I love a notebook, there is nothing quite like a blank white page just waiting for a list!!!
I was browsing through my local pound shop and came across a set of 5 exercise books for…how much??….yes, a pound!!! They’re a bit grotty, nothing very special, but we can change all that 😀
So, gather your supplies, I shall be using the lovely Lulu and Roy. You will need a book (obviously!) a 12 x 12 sheet of paper and then whatever you fancy to decorate it.
Cut the ‘Beauty’ paper to the height of your book and check that it will wrap around the whole thing with a little to spare. I added a contrast strip in ‘Graceful’ and stitched it together.
Glue the paper to the front of the book, lining up the edges but don’t glue the back. Once the front is stuck down properly, wrap the paper around the back, pulling gently to make sure it is tight to the spine. Keep the book closed whilst you are doing this.
Now you can glue it into place and trim the overhang with a craft knife.
Adhere your pretty things to the front, papers are ‘Refined’, ‘Splendid’ and the dotty one is from the 6 x 6 pad……and there you have it!
I added a die cut from the 6 x 6 pad and some stickers from the Alpha Sticker Sheet.
I also popped a couple of ‘tape’ pieces and a paper clip on the first page to hold important bits. The ‘tape’ is made with the fabulous Decorative Tape stamps.
As I was taking the photos I suddenly thought ‘wouldn’t it be nice to have a matching pencil?’ Sooo…..
It was easy to paint an old pencil with my Kaisercolour Paint in Sea Breeze. It dries really quickly. Then all it needed was a little piece of ‘Splendid’ wrapped around the bottom and some ribbon…perfect!
I hope this has inspired you to turn a 20p exercise book into a pretty little gift for you or someone you love.
Thanks for popping in today,
