A Layout using Tape

Hi there!

This month for my Layout I was given the gorgeous Heirloom Collection to use, plus some lovely Printed Tape.  The base I’ve used for my layout is Kaisercraft card in Vanilla.  The edges were distressed and inked.  On top of this was a 12×12 sheet of the Past patterned paper. This was trimmed to 11.5cm, torn, rolled and then inked and distressed.  Then a sheet of Descent patterned paper was trimmed down to 10 cm, also distressed and inked.  The overall look I was aiming for was old and faded.

This was also placed on the top of the two previous sheets of patterned  paper.  I gently stamped a lace image from the Clear Stamps – Scallop Lace.  Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen was used.  I wanted a really old faded look to the stamping. I wanted to see the tapes that I had been given, so taped them in horizontal and vertical  stripes.

A photo of myself and my Mum was mounted onto a piece of card, then raised slightly with Mounting Foam Dots.  At the bottom of the photo is a row of Ribbon Roses in Ivory.  Underneath the row of roses I pleated and then stuck with strong sticky tape Lace in Cream.  On top of the roses, Paper Blooms in Hot pink have been added.

Extra touches have been from the Heirloom Collectables and the paper pad.  The pocket watch collectable has the face coated in Crystal Lacquer to give  the face dimension.

The finished touches were the stamped butterflies from the Clear Rubber Stamp set – Limelight theme.  These were stamped using a Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.  I love this collection for use with wonderful old family photos.

I hope you enjoyed my post,
