Beautiful You

Hello,

Linda here with a layout using the beautiful Back to Basics collection which I absolutely love!

I started with a sheet of Coconut Kaisercard and added a strip torn from Black Damask, approximately 7″ wide, roughly 4″ from the bottom using a tape runner.

I then cut a piece from the remainder 7×6″ and distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz tool, this is on the of the best that I have used, and added it about 1″ from the left edge. The photo was trimmed to 5 1/2 x 4″ and distressed too then mounted onto a piece of Island Kaisercard which I gutted to 1″ from the edge.  A card from the Captured Moments Necessities pack was trimmed to 2″ then cut with a craft knife around the circular edge leaving 1/2″ attached. This was then placed under the mat overlaying the photograph as below.

Another card, with a damask pattern was trimmed to 3″ and tucked under the right side.
I used the remainder of the “love this” card and stamped the sentiment from the Confidence set, trimmed to 2″ square. I used a die cutting machine to add the word “girl” under love this too.

My title was also cut with my die-cutting machine and added bottom right.

Next I tucked a Doily under the photograph and ran a line of lace along to the edge of the page using Crystal Lacquer.

With Pink Stripe and the Layered Flowers decorative die, I cut a selection of blooms.

Along the edges of each one I ran a line of faux stitching with a Micron Pen, shaped with an embossing tool and layered up in a variety of sizes and added to the Doily. Foliage was cut from the Black Damask paper along with some feathers and a stem from the Island Kaisercard. These were shaped and added under the flowers and tucked under the edge of the photo mounts.

No layout is ever complete without copious amounts of glitter and some pearls which I added along the top of the lace, in the centre of the blooms, at the top of the “love this” sentiment and on the right hand side of the page.

Finally a double line of faux stitching around the white edge to complete.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and it has inspired you to play with this fabulous collection, I know this is one I will re-visit again and will be a perfect “store cupboard” item as it so versatile.

Take care,

~Linda~
