This is my layout for the Merly monthly challenge. This month we – and you – are challenged to make a layout that focuses on Food. When I was going through my photos I found so many photos of food markets in Europe – and many of them featured olives. My daughter and I have always loved olives. Emily developed a taste for olives from about the age of three! Since this month I am using travel themed papers Now Boarding, it seemed appropriate to combine my food focus with travel. I’ve kept this layout quite simple. I started off using the back side of the Terminal paper. Over this I machine stitched a piece of Airport paper.
As a mat for my photo and title I used two sections of Departure Lounge paper. I used some of the die cut Collectables to mat my small photo and to embellish the layout. Wrapping twine around my large photo mat adds interest and helps draw the eye around the layout. As you can see in the photo below, some of the elements have been adhered using foam tape, which adds some dimension without adding bulk.
I really like how this layout brings memories of a great holiday flooding back. I do hope you join in the Merly Impressions March challenge as I would love to see all your food layouts – and you could win £25 voucher to spend at the fabulous Merly shop.
