Cheeky Boy using Pitter Patter

Hello everyone!

My name is Debs Wood, and I’ve been invited by Chrissy and Paul to be one of the designers for Merly Impressions.

My first post is the Merly Impressions challenge.  As I have a brand new Grandson, I was given the beautiful Pitter Patter Collection to use.  I knew as soon as I saw this beautiful collection, that I wanted to recreate a paper quilt.

I cut nine 3×3 squares using the 12×12 paper and paper from the paper pad.  The edges were roughed up using a paper edger and fake stitches were added using a black journaling pen. Photos were mounted on card stock and then placed on the quilt effect using  mounting foam dots.  I also used various elements from the Collectables pack.

I’m not keen on my hand writing, and think it makes my journaling look messy.  So I did my journaling on Word using a typewriter font, drew around the sentences in black journaling pen and then cut it into strips.  The final finishing touch was the lovely paper blooms.

I hope you enjoyed my layout.

You have until 2nd of September to add your creation to the gallery under the August Challenge post.
