Emmy here with a new Curiosity layout and a small tutorial to share!
I always have a problem with embellishments – or I don’t have enough of them, or they are too expensive, or they don’t fit in my design. But I found out that with a pair of scissors, pattern paper, a punch or two and a bit of patience you can create the best tailor-made embellies for your page.
Here is what I created with the absolutely fabulous Curiosity Collection from Kaisercraft:
For this layout I used 1 black cardstock sheet, 4 pattern papers and a some of the die cuts from the Collectables pack.
I created the first layer on the black cardstock using a golden embossing powder and Kaisercraft “Tic Toc” background stamp. Then I punched out two strips from the Unique pattern paper and two strips from the black cardstock (I used the cut off stripe from the black cardstock with the Kaisercraft logo on one site).
To create the flower garden under my picture I used the Queer pattern paper – it takes a bit of time, but the effect is amazing! I added Stickles glitter glue and some ready made die cuts from the Collectables pack. To finish off my design I added black swirls, which I cut with various dies.
Before I arranged the embellishments to my layout, I slightly embossed them and used Mounting Foam Tape to adhere them in place.
I based my title on a sentiment from the Collectables pack “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a MEMORY”.
To frame the picture I fussy cut the black border from the Uncanny pattern paper, divided in three pieces and arranged them around my photo.
I used some more of the die cuts from the Collectables pack to finish off my design. But before I adhered them to my page, I cut off the excessive white border and I embossed them a bit.
So, you see – with a few pattern papers and a little bit of time, you can create the best embellishments for your personal style!
