Elephants on Parade

Hello Everyone,

Linda here, hope you are all enjoying your weekend. More from me today using the fabulous Back to Basics Collection.

Quite a few of my albums came with multi pocketed protectors which are perfect for the Captured Moments cards to create a 12×12″ layout. I used a variety of the 6×4″ cards from the Necessities collection to create this one along with papers from Back to Basics.

My photographs are approximately 3 1/2 x 4″ and all edges are inked with Tim Holtz Distress inks. the embellishments were created with the layered flowers decorative die (the smaller two sizes) which I have shaped and layered. The centres were made using a thin strip of paper, Pink Damask, which I rolled up and glued in place. The foliage was cut using Cookie Kaisercard and the Berry Vine die cut into separate fronds and placed behind. A little lace was also added.

The next one uses one small flower cut from Pink Damask paper also with a rolled paper centre and some leaves with the foliage die and the Kraft Stripe paper. I cut the dotty strip from another card and added to the right edge too. The twine was wrapped around the edge and tied with a little bow.

With the black dotty elephant, I cut around the edge of the words on the card and slid the photograph slightly underneath. The flowers were cut from another of the cards, the foliage from Black Damask. Another small piece of lace was used too.

This section uses two cards, the words from one layered onto another. The Twine was added onto Crystal Lacquer coiled and trailed.

This one uses elements of the cards layered with Orange Damask, the foliage & flowers are cut from another of the cards.

The collection is very versatile and so easy to use.

I took the photo of them laying on the insert to avoid the glare but even with the dimension of the flowers etc., they still fit perfectly. My insert had a narrow strip down the side so I just cut a piece of Kraft Stripe to fill it. If you don’t have this type of insert, the layout would work just as well on a piece of 12×12″ Kaisercard instead – I would suggest Coconut.

Check back in the week for projects using the new June release collections, they are gorgeous!

Take care

~Linda~
