Framed

Hello Everyone, Hope you are all well.

Linda here with another layout using the beautiful Botanica collection.
IMG_8731 smallI loved the Woodgrain of the Leaf paper and decided to create a frame with it so I cut 4 x 2″ strips and mitered the corners. I then gutted the centre of a piece of Vanilla Kaisercard 2 1/2″ from the edge to look like a mount board frame within. I have to admit that this is version two as once made it all just looked too flat. I had run out of foam tape so the depth didn’t work.

Then – Top tip came from the lovely Pam – use the pizza box the goodies are delivered in!

I took it apart and added a frame of cardboard either side of the Vanilla Kaisercard – what a fantastic idea and perfect recycling!

IMG_8719 smallYou can see below the layers it created!

IMG_8735 smallOk, so to back track – next I cut a piece of Seed 10″ square and added behind the Vanilla cardstock. My photo was printed twice and cut to 4 1/2 x 3 1/2″ and 2 1/4 x 3 1/4″ then mounted on the remaining pieces of Leaf, the reverse side.

IMG_8720 smallTo decorate, I fussy cut some stems from Habitat paper and also Pollen and layered them up on the left hand side.

IMG_8734 smallFollowed by some leaves from the Collectables top and bottom of my smaller photograph – which is on foam tape – the last I had!

IMG_8732 smallI then punched some small flowers using Roots inked with Orchid mini ink pad and an EK Sucess punch and filled the centres with Mlled Lavender Distress Stickles – I really like the effect this gives, very different!

IMG_8733 smallFinally, I added a strip cut from Botany mounted onto a little leftover Stem from the paper pad and some pearls.

Have you used an unusual element in your layouts? Let us know!

Thanks for joining me for this months creations, check back later in the week for more delightful projects from the Design Team.

Take care

~ Linda ~
