It’s Pam here. This month I’ll be designing with Kaisercraft ‘Generations’ collection. This collection is somewhat different from other Kasiercraft collections, in that it includes a 12×12 single sided paper pad containing 48 different papers. The collection is designed for scrapping individual family members as many of the papers have family names as part of the design-grandmother, grandfather, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister.
So my here is first layout using this collection:
Here’s how I went about creating this layout. First I decided to cut out the word ‘father’ from one of the 12×12 papers to use as my title. I adhered it to card stock to give it some rigidity before cutting around the letters with a craft knife. For intricate cutting like this I use a glass cutting mat, and a sharp craft knife. I cut out the inner parts of the letters first. I turn the paper rather than the knife when doing this type of cutting.Next I made the photo mount and the journalling tag. The inside frame is some fussy cutting from one of the patterned papers-a larger version of the frame I’ve used on my journalling tag. I needed to make my photo mount rigid as it is raised from the base paper to leave a gap for the tag to slot under. So I used card stock and more patterned paper under the photo.
Here you can see how I use some cardboard packaging strips on three sides of the back of my photo to raise it off the surface.
Then I adhered all the photo and embellished it with coordinating collectables. I also used another of the frames as a base for sticking on one of the new clear sentiment stickers. This set is called Family so it’s perfect for using with the Generations papers.
Below you can see how the layout looked before the tag was slipped under the photo.
and finally, the finished layout with the journalling tag in place:
If you want to put together a family album I think you would find the Generations Collection ideal.
Hope you like my post,
