Hi everyone, it’s Pam here with a heritage layout.
Kaisercraft’s ‘Heirloom’ collection, with its subtle neutral colour palettes is perfect for scrapping your older heritage photos. This collection features calming sepias, browns, blues and greens. For this layout of my mother and father’s wedding, I collected lots of brown elements together to create a largely monotone layout. The only colour is the green of the sentiment strip, which was the inspiration behind this layout. As soon as I saw that sentiment I decided it was perfect for this photo. This layout is made from papers and diecuts contained in the 6.5″ x 6.5″ paper pad.
In addition, I used die cuts from the coordinating Collectables. Don’t feel you have to use the diecuts as they come-sometimes cutting them up can make them work better on your layout-like I have done with frame diecut at the top of my photo.I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the scalloped edge. Also, if you look closely you can see that I’ve run a brown coloured pencil around some of the edges of the elements to provide a shadow and give the illusion of dimension. I also used foam tape to lift some of the diecuts to add further dimension. layering up elements and adding dimension gives extra interest to the layout and prevents my brown layout from being dull!
I hope you have enjoyed this layout.
