This is my layout for the October Challenge ‘Home’. I took a slightly different interpretation of home in that my layout is about the cottage we rent each year on the Isle of Skye. For us, it’s beginning to be so familiar that it feels like coming home.
I’ve used the Tea Party collection by Kaisercraft. The heart paper is appropriate as we love this place so much, especially the view from the front door!
This is a really simple layout. I swiped gesso over a rough square shape on the patterned paper. This is a great way to break up the pattern to allow you to journal more easily direct to paper.
I framed the photos with some of the patterned paper and also layered some other patterned papers and a bit of paper doily. I used die cuts on three corners of the photo on which I placed embellishments. The wooden teapot and cup were swiped with Distress inks.
