June 2012 Challenge

Another month has been and gone and it is already time for a new challenge! I can’t believe how quickly time flies by but it is also a real pleasure to be back with a brand new challenge as I really enjoy looking at your oh so gorgeous creations!

I decided to go for something completely different this month and we are all so excited about this one!!! Drum roll…

June Challenge Recipe

It is a recipe!!! Well, a recipe with a twist: choose a line from the box above (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) and you will have 3 elements to use on your 12×12 layout. So it is quite open as you kinda choose your own recipe!

Please add your creation to the gallery below before the challenge closes at 1:00pm on 12th July. We will then choose our favourite layout to win a fantastic prize – which this month is a Kaisercraft 12×12 Timeless Paper Pad (containing 60 sheets of 12×12 papers) worth £22.95!  Wow!

So, as I wouldn’t leave you alone, here is my take on the challenge:

June Challenge layout

I used the diagonal Layers/Flowers/Paint for my layout. I love the paper I used for this background – it is from the Timeless Collection, a must have in my opinion! I also used a mix up of Kaisercraft papers from different collections behind my photograph for my “layer” bit.

June Challenge layout - details

I am crazy about those typewriters alphas!!! I mounted them on foam pads for extra dimension! It really makes a big difference!

So as you see, it doesn’t matter how much or how little of the three elements you use as long as we can clearly see them on the layout! All we need, is for you to state on your blog post, gallery entry or e-mail the three elements that you used.

We do hope that you have fun with our challenge and that we bring some inspiration your way. You can find a full list of the Challenge rules on the Monthly Challenge page but we would like to politely remind readers that:

  1. anyone who puts their entry on their own blog must link back to this post (http://www.merlyimpressions.co.uk/blog/scrapbooking/june-2012-challenge/) so that all your visitors can find the gallery below and enjoy all the fabulous layouts being created
  2. each creation entered must be “new” (not previously entered into a Merly Impressions or any other challenge)

We noticed that it was difficult for us to view any of your entries linked through Facebook therefore we are kindly asking you if you could please post your photos on the Merly Impressions page as this should make it easier for us all to admire your work. You can also email your entries directly to us at info@merlyimpressions.co.uk and we will add them and link them through our Photobucket gallery.

All your comments and feedback are highly appreciated. Happy Scrapping!!!

  9. I found it difficult to decide which line to use and at the last minute changed my mind from a diagonal selection to use layers, lace and pearls. The lace decided the choice of photo … the old fashioned lace hat that we got to wear in our final year of nurse training.

  10. Hi Tracy,

Thank you for entering the Challenge, your layout is beautiful, love the very pretty lace and pearls.

  12. I loved this challenge and decided to go for paint, layers and flowers. I don’t think I have ever done a layout which had all three in there so thanks for pushing my creativity! I took my picture when it was very dark as I just finished it now so apologies for the bad quality!
