Life is a Journey

Hello Everyone – I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be joining this mega talented Design Team!  I have been crafting for many years now, making everything from cards to scrapbook layouts, jewelry to clothing, home decor to baking.

I don’t really have a “style” as I love to try different things from mixed media to die cutting, so, I am hoping to do justice to the beautiful Kaisercraft papers and products which we all adore.

For my first layout I have used the amazing Wanderlust collection which is quite apt as I am a Corporate Travel Agent in real life!

I started by gutting Wander to create a 1″ border then trimmed some Ivory card stock to 11″ and layered them. I love the splats that Tim Holtz Distress Stains give so used Faded Jeans, Dried Marigold and Antique Linen randomly from bottom left to top right.

A strip of Freedom was cut to 3 1/2 x 10 1/2″ and placed across the page about 3″ from the bottom. My main photo is trimmed to 4 1/2 x 3 3/4″ and mounted onto a 6×4″ piece of Found then covered with a Kaisercraft overlay distress edge acetate frame.

My phone has an app to create photobooth strips, so I fastened this to a leftover piece of Wander 2 1/4 x 9 ” added at an angle.

The stamps that come with this set are fabulous so I added some around the edge of the Ivory cardstock with some Tim Holtz Faded Jeans ink, which was also used on all edges of the papers. One of the 12×12″ sheets Exploration has lots of postage stamps and I found one which said Moscow – perfect for this layout – trimmed and added to the edge of my main photo.

The fun part next was to create lots of lovely tags using the Collectables and some twine layering them with 3D foam plus lots of elements from the sticker sheet to finish the effect.

I hope you have enjoyed travelling though this layout with me, check back later for some more wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.

Linda x
