Marmite Love – Tutorial

Hello everyone it’s Ali with you today to share a fun little idea for embellishing your page.

My grandson had his first ever Marmite sandwich a while ago and LOVED it! Such an event had to be documented!! I wanted to create something fun and relevant to my story so I decided to create a confetti packet but make it sandwich shaped 😀

MAR Tutorial Main

Here is what you need to get started: a bright and colourful paper. I used Snort from the gorgeous Hello Sunshine collection. A hole punch, a plastic pocket and a sewing machine.

MAR Tutorial

Start off by punching the paper to make your confetti shapes.

Set them to one side when you feel that you have enough – or like me, get bored! LOL

MAR Tutorial 3

They do look fun though!

Next you want to stitch your pocket into four triangles, so sew from each diagonal corner.

MAR Tutorial 4

You now need to cut them. I kept one stitched side per triangle, sewed up the other side, leaving one side open to fill with confetti.

MAR Tutorial 5

You can see I chose to make my triangles a lot smaller in the end; you do whatever is right for you 😀

Now they are ready to play with!

MAR Tutorial Detail 2

I glued mine with a clear PVA glue under the confetti so that it wouldn’t show. The beauty of the pockets being clear is that you can lay them over other pieces and they will still be seen! I finished my layout with fun bits and bobs from the Collectables pack and some stamps from the Captured Moments sets; another ‘must have’ in my opinion!

My title was from the 12×12 Alpha Sheet, I just adore that font!

Thanks for joining me today. I hope I have inspired you to make some food related embellishments or a confetti pocket or two!
