Merly Impressions February 2014 Challenge

Hi everybody! It is that time of the month again and we are here to challenge you once more!

This month we are challenging to find artistic and inspiring ways to use something that most scrapbookers will have many of – we would like you to create a layout that includes :

Stamps & Stamping

Please note that the layout must clearly include some stamped detail. The final date for entries is the 2nd of March 2014.

One of our design team has created a layout to provide a little inspiration:

Pam…

This month I am so lucky because I get to play along with the absolutely fabulous Art of Life collection from Kaisercrafts. Not only that, but also this month’s challenge is to use stamps on your layout. So not only do I get to use these fantastic papers, but I also get to use stamps-what’s not to love?

When first looking at the Art of Life collection you can’t help be struck by a sense of romance, with the use of a neutral colour palette, script papers and flowers, but on closer examination you will see there are also some more edgy designs, like the photo negatives and the dot paper on this page. The other thing I like is that  this neutral colour means that the addition of  any colour will work beautifully. So here I have picked up the pink of my daughter’s scarf and added a pop of pink spray.merlyfebSo for the stamp challenge I used stamps from two sets of Kaisercrafts stamps: the stamp set that co-ordinates with this collection:Clear Stamps - Art of Life Collection

and this Film Edge set:

Clear Stamp - Film Edges

If you look closely you will see the frames used around blocks of patterned paper and journalling:

And the leaf stamp and film edge stamps are a lot easier to spot.

Anyway, I hope you have fun using stamps on your layouts – I can’t wait to see what you all get up to!

Pam

Please add your creation to the gallery below before the challenge closes at 1:00pm on 2rd March 2014. We will then choose our favourite layout to win a fantastic prize – a £25.00 voucher to spend on anything you want from the Merly Impressions online store. Wow!

We do hope that you have fun with our challenge and that we bring some inspiration your way. Every month I love to look through all your gorgeous entries but please make sure you follow the challenge rules as we are sad to have on occasion to remove some entries as they didn’t follow those rules. You can find a full list of the Challenge rules on the Monthly Challenge page but we would like to politely remind readers that:

  1. anyone who puts their entry on their own blog must link back to this post (http://www.merlyimpressions.co.uk/blog/project-portfolio/scrapbooking/merly-impressions-february-2014-challenge/) so that all your visitors can find the gallery below and enjoy all the fabulous layouts being created
  2. each creation entered must be “new” (not previously entered into a Merly Impressions or any other challenge)

It can be difficult for us to view any of your entries linked through Facebook therefore we are kindly asking you if you could please post your photos on the Merly Impressions page as this should make it easier for us all to admire your work. You can also email your entries directly to us at info@merlyimpressions.co.uk and we will add them and link them through our Photobucket gallery.

Have fun!
