I love to collect a vast array of stamps but I did notice lately that apart from a small number of staples that I re-use time and time again on all (or most of) my projects, I tend to only use the others once or twice but then forget about them…
Not very purse friendly I hear you say but I know that I am not alone… So this month I have decided to re-visit an older set from Kaisercraft (2010, in Scrapbooking it may as well be called an Antique!) and give it a new fresh lease of life! Are you ready? Here we go!
Did you notice the trend of having hot-air balloons on our layouts? Well Kaisercraft had released an entire collection around that theme back in 2010. I decided to use the stamp set from Up, Up and Away and to bring it up to date with my choice of colours to make the most of what I already had! I also helped this updating by using the fantastic Chevron Stencil that I absolutely love but making my chevrons go upward to help the visual effect of the balloons flying away. The swirls from the stamp set are here to build a sort of cloud as a base for my photograph to rest onto.
To finish it all off and tie everything together I used the amazing Kaisercraft paper blooms in Fire Red, Sunset (yellow) and Sea breeze. I hope this inspired you to look at your stamps in a new light!
