The Elephant in the room

Hi Everyone, Linda here, hope you are all enjoying the warm (hot?) weather!

This month I have had the pleasure of working with the vibrant Fiesta Collection and found this lovely Elephant (from the 2010 London Parade) which perfectly matched them!

My inspiration for diamonds came whilst looking though the Collectables and finding one this shape. I cut 3″ strips from Hola, Jalapeno & Siesta cutting around the shape which gave 9 pieces. One I divided into two pieces and added these centrally onto a piece of White Kaisercard liberally spritzed with Pink Kaisermist and splashes of Turquoise.

The remaining diamonds were inked with Black Soot Distress ink and stuck into place as above.

My photos were 6×4″ trimmed down to remove excess scenery making the Elephant the focus, inked and mounted onto Poncho paper and placed centrally. Next I took a Black Micron pen and drew faux stitching around the diamond shapes.

Then came lots of layering with the Fiesta Collectables and foam tape.

Some lovely pink pearls and Diamond stickles were added to the flowers and leaves to complete the design, plus a couple of butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch.

Take care

~ Linda ~
