Wild + Free with Hide and Seek

Karen here with the second of my projects using the Hide and Seek collection.

As soon as I saw this range I knew the exact photographs I wanted to use – these ones from 9 years ago. One of the first times the four of us went for a walk in the woods with our dog.  Gracia and Josh had such a fun time jumping out on each other and photographing their wild leaps!

I started by using the arrow side of the piece of the Mountains paper that I had gutted from my previous layout.  I then used teal and gold paint and the Dotted Lines 6×6 Stencil to add a little extra interest to the paper.  My paint was a little runny as it had gotten hot in my outdoor craft room and smudged a little but I quite liked the effect.

Once dry I trimmed .25 in from the top and one side of a piece of Trees paper (although I think they look more like leaves than trees) and then gutted a 1 in border.  I added the frame to a piece of Kraft card and the arrow side of the Mountains paper to the top of this.

Next I ‘fussy cut’ all of the leaves from the remaining piece of Trees paper and set them aside for later. Two pieces of cloud paper, from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, were cut to 4.5 ins square and added to my page, using mounting foam pads. I left a border without any pads so I could tuck bits underneath.

I then added my photos, also on mounting foam pads, at an angle to add to the crazy feel of the page.

A border from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad die cuts was added to the bottom of the page with a banner from the Collectables pack on top.

I cut a little fox from Woods paper and added this to the bottom of my photo on the left of my page.  A bear from the  Collectables pack was added to the photo on the right.

Finally, I tucked the leaves cut from Woods paper and some from the Collectables pack under my photos and photo mounts, adding birds and phrases from the Collectables pack.

I then wanted to add a little colour to the border of my page so used the stars from a pack of Natural Epoxy Stickers.

Making this layout has reminded me of the fun Gracia and Josh had when they were younger and the fact that they are still just as crazy nine years on!
