November 16th Merly Crop Layouts & kit Sneak Peeks

Hi Everyone,

There is just about a week to go until our November 16th 2019 Merly Crop, the last one for this year, so here are the details of the crop and sneak peeks of the layouts that you will be able to create using the kit. For the kit I have used papers from the beautiful Lady Like Kaisercraft collection.

As well as the papers in the kit there are also two sheets of Kaisercard, DMC thread  and detailed instructions with coloured photo’s for you to follow, so you can create the two layouts that I have designed, at your own pace.

Below are some sneak peeks & details of the first layout which I’ve called “Beautiful”

This layout features the lovely black paper and the pink fussy cut roses, stitching & punching all arranged around a kind of patchwork base. My black & white photo measures 9cm wide x 13cm high. The butterfly stamp will be available to use at the crop or feel free to bring your own – it is the butterfly from the Lady Like stamp set, but any will do. If you have a similar edge punch please bring that as well, but I will bring mine for you to use.

This layout features the pinks and greens from the collection, lots of beautiful fussy cutting, stitching and a little punching. My coloured photo measures about 8.5cm wide by 10.5cm high.

Other items used which you may want to bring are a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) foam pads and a small pair of scissors as there is a lot of fussy cutting on both layouts, a pink ink pad. We will however have a selection of Foam dots/roll, available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

I have also used the WRMK Sew Easy Tool, Martha Stewart “Eyelet Lace” Edge Punch, the butterfly from the “Lady Like” coordinating Stamp set –  we will however bring these items to the crop for people to use and our other usual supply of tools including the Big Shot machine & a small selection of other punches and dies.

At the crop we will also have our usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies, including the new October & November Kaisercraft collections and the fabulous New ScrapBoys goodies.

Extra kits will also be available to purchase at the crop. Just ask Paul for them. The usual supply of tea, coffee and a selection of Christmas themed biscuits, chocolates, snacks & cakes will be available throughout the day. You will need to bring your own lunch and your usual supply of crafting tools.

This will be our Christmas crop, please bring a Christmas mug & wear your favourite Christmas jumper/clothes.

See you all on Saturday 16th November 2019 at 10am (not before 9.55 unless you have been asked to help, as we will be very, very busy getting ready, please wait outside if you do turn up early) – until 4pm.  The cost for the day & kit is £30.00 payable on the day, we take cash and/or cards.

For anyone who can not attend the crop, the kit will be available to purchase the day after the crop over on the website. The cost for this kit is £20.00

Enjoy the Journey

Hope you are enjoying the summer weather! Today I would like to share a quick and simple but effective layout that I created using the Journey Collection- Kaisercraft. I have focused on the brown colours of this collection for this layout.

To begin, I have cut a piece of KAISERCARD WHITE PREMIUM CARDSTOCK to 30 cm x 30 cm. Next I used a the DIAMONDS MINI DESIGNER STENCIL, KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE and ink blending tool to create the brown pattern on the white background.

Next I took the CLEAR STAMP – SCRIPT BACKGROUND, an ACRYLIC STAMPING BLOCK and KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE to stamp on the edges of the brown inking.

Time to add some photos! I took the brown and white foil sheet from the PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION and cut it down to 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm. I attached this to the centre of my layout. I took the left overs from this sheet and framed my two 5.2 cm x 5.2 cm photos. I had already framed these photo with KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK which was cut at 5.6 cm x 5.6 cm. I attached these two small photos to the opposite corners.20190630_112201

 

Next was to add more photos. I took two photos 6.8 cm x 6.8 cm and framed with 7.2 cm x 7.2 cm  KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK  and a second frame at 8.2 cm x 8.2 cm of the suitcase paper from the PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION was also used. These two photos were attached diagonally inside, but overlapping, the two smaller photos. Finally the large photo (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm) was framed with 10.6 cm x 10.6 cm  KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK and foam taped to the center of the layout.20190630_120853

 

The last step is the fun step! I have embellished with the brown pop out pieces from the  PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION, the quote “Live your life by a compass not a clock’ from MEANDERER – JOURNEY COLLECTION, FLOURISH PACK – FLY AWAY, CHEESECLOTH GAUZE and RHINESTONES – SILVER.
