Remember with Whisper

Karen here with my last project using the delicious Whisper range.

I love the versatility of this paper range and for my first page, this month, scrapped a photo that was only a few months old.  For my second page I scrapped a photo that was over 50 years old and for this one am using a photo that is nearly 90 years old!  Each photo has been perfectly complimented by this collection.

For this page I have used the reverse side of Bisque, the smooth side of Kaisercard Snow Weave, Whisper clear stamps, mini ink pad – Bark, Whisper flourish pack, Sticker Sheet, Collectables, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, alpha stickers – Ebony Soft Pink rhinestones, mini paper blooms Sage, paper blooms Honey and Little Birdie Symphony Flowers – Coffee Bean.  I also used a cream tag from my own supplies.

To start I trimmed .5 in from the top and one side of my Kaisercard Snow Weave, I then used a plate to draw a circle in the centre and stamped the large fern from the Whisper clear stamps, using mini ink pad – Bark,  in each corner.  I then fussy cut around the circle and the leaves that extended over the circle.

This was adhered to the centre of the Bisque paper.  My photo was double mounted onto two pieces of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  The photo mounts were slid under the white card and the photo layered over the top, under one of the fern fronds.

I added my tag,  two watch faces and a circular sentiment, from the Collectables pack, to the top right of my photo with the ‘Choose Happy’ phrase , also from the Collectables pack.

On each side of my page I added the wooden leaves from the Whisper flourish pack,  mini paper blooms Sage, paper blooms Honey and Little Birdie Symphony Flowers – Coffee Bean with stamped butterflies and butterflies from the Sticker Sheet and Collectables, tucked in amongst the flowers.

A phrase fro the Sticker Sheet was trimmed into sections and added to the right of the photo.   I added a title to the top of the tag using alpha stickers – Ebony.

All that remained was to add a few Soft Pink rhinestones at the top and bottom of my circle and under my title on the tag.

So there we have my final Whisper page, don’t forget to pop back to see what Denise and Emmy have made this month.

Let The Adventure Begin with Whisper

Karen here with the second of my Whisper projects.  For this one I wanted to showcase the beautiful stamps and used them as a feature on each side of my page.

Let The Adventure Begin

On this page I have used the reverse side of Ecru paper, a piece of the reverse side of Earthy paper, Buff paper,  Kaisercard Snow Weave card,  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Flora and Fauna acetate sheet, collectables, sticker sheet and Whisper clear stamps. I also used a brown manila tag and a white doily from my own supplies.

I started by stamping the sprigs of flowers down both sides of my card, with the Whisper clear stamps, being careful to get them as close as possible.  I then added butterflies where there was available space – three on the left and four on the right.

I then used Kaisercraft Colouring Pencils (which are on sale at the moment) to colour the stamped images.

I cut a piece of Ecru paper 12 ins tall and 5 ins wide and stuck this, vertically, to the centre of my page.  Next I added 4in x 9 in piece of Earthy paper (reserved from my previous page), a 5.5in x 2 in piece of paper from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and a 5.25 x 1 in piece, with gold butterflies, from the same pad.  I used another piece from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad as my photo mount.

Onto the photo mount I added a doily at the top right and a manila tag at the bottom left. I then added my photo on foam pads.  I cut the title from  Buff paper and placed at the top right corner of my photo.

At the bottom of my photo I added the film strip from the collectables, with a piece of the butterfly border sticker.   I also added a phrase from the sticker sheet,  collectables were placed under the photo at the top right and under over the tag at the bottom left of my photo.  The final touch was to fussy cut all the butterflies from the Flora and Fauna acetate sheet and scatter about my page.

I loved how this paper range worked perfectly with an old black and white photo of me.  I have used a really vintage photo for my final project which I will show you later in the month.

Sea Lions with Deep Sea

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year, Denise here with my first project using the Deep Sea Kaisercraft collection.IMG_E6534-resized& banner

I am using the gorgeous Sea Shell Gloss Paper on my layout to day, its a perfect background for all your sea and beach based photos.

I took a sheet of Barrier Reef paper and using the shell side used some Texture Paste through a Mini Mix Designer Stencil to add some interest at the back and to make the shell pop a bit.

Next, I used a Texture Netting decorative die to cut one white net out then cut in half to use behind my photo.

I adhered the shell on to the background once it was dry, then matted my photo on to some papers from the Paper Pad IMG_6532

I also distressed the edges with a Paper Distresser. I used lots of die cuts from the Collectables to decorate around the layout and a wave sticker along the bottom of the photo from the Sticker Sheet. The wording and some of the collectables were inked around with a Lagoon Mini ink pad.

I also added some journalling with a white pen.

This is a lovely collection to work with and the team will be back soon with some great inspiration for you.

It’s a Big World Out There with Let’s Go

Karen here with the first of my December (where has the year gone to?) projects using Let’s Go.

Daring Adventure

I started my page by cutting a piece of Flights 11.5ins wide and 4 ins deep and adhered this to a piece of Licorice card.  I then cut a piece of  11.5 ins wide and 8 ins deep.  I added this to my card leaving a .25 border at the bottom and both sides and overlapping the Flights slightly.  I used the suitcase border from the sticker sheet to hide the join.

Daring adv enture 4This range has a really usable acetate sheet which I have used on this page. To start with I cut apart the 3 x 4 pieces and used two over photographs and the third as my title.  I arranged the photos at an angle either side of my title.

Dearing Adventure 1

I used the 6 x 4 piece, with the suitcase on, for a journaling block and used a permanent pen to write on it.  I also added the suitcases from the Collectables Pack.

Dearing Adventure2

I then embellished my page with Collectables and tickets cut from Souvenirs paper.  I also cut the ‘Explore’ tag from the Bag Tags paper.

Dearing Adventure3

Finally I added ‘Life Is Either A Daring Adventure …’ from the sticker sheet and some words from Celebrate Tape.

Daring adv enture 4

I then went on to make another page as I loved the elements on the Acetate sheet so much.

Always Keep Room

For this page I used Chocolate card as my base – gutting a piece large enough to use as a photo mount. I then took a piece of Street Signs and cut .25in from the top and one side.  I adhered this to the Chocolate card with the blue side showing.  Next I cut .5in from the top and right of Cities paper.  Using a craft knife and the ‘sunburst’ as a guide I cut sections from the Cities paper and cut away sections of the suitcases so that I was able to slide the acetate I wanted to use as a title under them.  I added this to the Street Signs paper.

I used the star border from the sticker sheet and Union Flag border from the Souvenirs paper.  After adding my photograph I placed a piece of the buildings sticker border from the sticker sheet and added a cluster of embellishments to the bottom right of my photo – these were taken from the Collectables pack, Sticker sheet and 6.5 x 6.5 Paper Pack.

Keep Room In Your Life 2

I hope I have inspired you to want to try using acetate on your projects.

Meeting Santa with First Noel

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my final layout using the First Noel Collection.IMG_5086-resized-banner

I concentrated on using the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad  and Collectables this time, starting with a sheet of Gifts paper using the gold foiled holly side.

Next I used a sheet of Grey Premium kaiser card, cutting it down by 1/2 an inch on two adjacent sides.

I used a sheet of the snowflake side of Evergreen paper as a big mat ,then fussy cut lots of presents from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and 12 x 12  Wrapped paper .

I used lots of layers of papers from the paper pad to mat my photo, including the lovely gold foil stripe .

Underneath my photo I placed some scalloped border strips which were mounted on to foam tape to give depth.

I used sheets of gold paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad to die cut my title

Although I did use 12 x 12 paper on the base of my layout, with a piece of cardstock, with just the pack of collectables and the paper pad you can easily make a layout as there is so much to choose from in both.

I hope you like this simply put together layout and will use those papers and collectables !

Happy scrapping

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year with Peace and Joy

Karen here with my third project using the wonderfully traditional Peace and Joy Collection.

Hello, hello – Karen here with my third project using the wonderfully traditional Peace and Joy Collection.

I wanted to use this range for a non Christmas page to show how versatile it is and decided to use a photo of my husband and our dog taking an Autumn walk.  I really do think Autumn is the most wonderful time of the year!

I started with a piece of Fern Weave Cardstock and added the reverse side of Frolic (which I had trimmed half an inch from the bottom and one side) as the brush strokes look a forest of pine trees.

Next I added a piece of Elation, two ins from the left,  cut to 12 ins tall and 4 ins wide.  On top of this I added a piece of Comfort, 2 and a half ins from the top, cut to four ins tall and 12 ins wide.

Next I dabbed Vine ink through the stripes stencil at the top left and bottom right of my page.

I then took two pages from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and added them to my page.

I used two 4 in strips of the the tree border sticker, from the sticker sheet, across the bottom of the Comfort paper and then cut a border, from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad and added it either side of my page below the sticker border.

I added my 5 x 7 photo to the top of these leaving a small border of the green and gold paper at the top and two sides.

To embellish my page I cut the two birds and foliage from one of the 6.5 x 6.5 papers and added to the top right and bottom left of my page.  I used another border from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad underneath my photo to which I added the word ‘Together’ from the Collectables pack.   The remaining piece of tree border sticker was placed at the bottom right of my page with three trees from the Collectables pack on top.  I then layered up a tag from the Collectables pack, a tag from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad – with a sticker from the sticker sheet added at the bottom, and a robin from the Collectables pack on the right of my photo.  Finally I added a little cardinal at the top of my photo and the title , which is from the sticker sheet.

The last thing to do was to add my journaling, using a Kaisercolour Gel Pen which was the perfect colour.

I hope this gives you an idea on how to use a Christmas range in a non Christmassy way x

Christmas Blessings with Peace and Joy

Christmas Blessings

Hello, hello – Karen here with my second Peace and Joy project  For this one I really wanted to emphasise the lovely Christmassy feel that the papers convey and so decided to focus on the all the poinsettias that feature in this range.

First I took the Joyful gloss speciality paper and inked it with green and red ink – see video below.

Once I had coloured my paper I cut a piece of Rejoicing to 8ins tall and 11 ins wide and added this to my Joyful paper.

I mounted my photograph onto two pieces of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  I stuck a  Gold paper doily to the centre of my page 2 ins from the top and added the photo stack to the top of this, I then added a circular embellishment from the Collectables Pack , tucking it between the two paper photo mounts.

Next I used the Poinsettia embossing folder and embossed three pieces of 6 x 4 white card. I cut the flowers from two of them and added them to the join at the top of the Rejoicing paper.  I added the third piece of embossed card centrally underneath my photo.

To the top of the embossed card I placed the swag of foliage and flowers from the sticker sheet.  On top of this I added some flowers cut from Cheer and Merry papers and from the corresponding papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad.

I took one of the border strips from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad and added it to the bottom of my piece of embossed card.  I used a piece from the Collectables Pack at the centre bottom and then added three Fire Red Paper Blooms to my page.  All that was left to do was to add a title using the Red Alpha Sticker Sheet.

I think I have achieved what I set out to do and have a lovely Christmassy page featuring Gracia at her second Christmas when she was 19months.  Note the Holly hair bobble that I made and she had to wear – poor girl :0)

All roads lead to home with Wonderland

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my first project using the lovely Wonderland Kaisercraft collection.

As always from Kaisercraft there is a great variation in colours to use. Not only are there crisp pale greens and navy blues but also the addition of teals and browns for an extra pop of warmth in this collection.

I had a lovely photo of my dog sitting by the tree watching the snow last year and to me it really sums up the feel of Christmas.

I started by using a sheet of Snow Scene paper which I added a strip of Snowfall paper to across the top. Next I added a manufacturer’s strip across the join of the papers and picked out some lovely collectables to add.

I fussy cut a snowflake from the snowfall paper and inked round it with the Lagoon mini ink pad

I used three papers from the Paper Pad to mat my photo on and placed over on the right hand side in the middle of the layout.

Now it was time to embellish ! I used a lot of Collectables and also items from the Paper Pad all around the layout. Most of them were layered up with foam tape to give height and dimension and inked with the Lagoon mini ink pad.IMG_4169

I tucked scalloped strips from the paper pad  just under my photo.IMG_4174

Kaisercraft have recently bought out new Sticker Pads, I used some items from there as well . This snowflake was a sticker which I inked around and tucked under the side.IMG_4175

These little words were from the Sticker Pad too.

I also used the Stitched Star Decorative Die as an embellishment.

I hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I have enjoyed making it and the team will be back again very soon with more inspiration .

Sweet Adventure with Hide and Seek

Sweet Adventure

hello – Karen here with the third of my projects using the Hide and Seek paper range.

We recently went to stay with our daughter and her partner in Newcastle and as a special treat they had booked for us to have afternoon tea in a cafe called The Running Fox!  A perfect photo opp to showcase this lovely paper range.

Left Side

After our afternoon tea we went for a walk by the river where the ‘boys’ spent a happy afternoon seeing who could skim a stone the furthest, make it hop the most, who could hit a stone with a stick the most times and who could throw a stone to make the biggest splash – more photo ops.  As I had so many fabulous photos I decided to make a double page.

Right Side

When I make double pages I usually lay two pieces of 12 x 12 card side by side and work across them both and slit them apart at the end.  I took the Fawn and Bears papers as not only did they have the cute animals on but the perfect titles for our afternoon of fun.  I cut  .5in from the right of Fawn  and .5 from the left of Bears .  In then cut them in half horizontally and added the top of the Bears paper to the top of the left piece of card and the top of the Fawn to the top of the right piece of card, leaving a .25 border of white card.  I then added the fawn to the bottom of the left card and the bear to the bottom of the right card adding borders from the sticker sheet across the join at the top, middle and bottom. c

I then cut some photo mounts from Kraft card – the top ones are 3.25 in x 4.25 in and the bottom ones are 4.25 in square and used Mounting Foam Dots to stick them to the pages.

Next I cut some photo mats from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad – the top ones were 3in x 4in and the bottom ones were 4 in square.

I added two die cut borders from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad across the bottom and a die cut banner, from the Collectables pack across the top and then added my photos to the photo mounts using mounting foam dots.

IMG_3446I then snipped the two pages apart and added ‘Making Memories’ from the Deer paper across the join of the two papers on the left side and ‘Little Moments, Big Memories’ from the  Explorer paper across the join of the right side.   Next I made two clusters from pieces taken from the  Collectables pack and die cuts from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad. I added journaling spots cut from Deer and Explorer papers and used Kaisercraft Gel Pens to write my journaling.

3I used little animals from the Collectables pack to add interest to my photos and added a few more sticker borders where there were empty spaces.  The sticker sheet has some lovely washie stickers and I used these under my bottom photos.

5 7I completed my clusters with a couple of fox buttons which were from my own supplies.

7The final touch was to add some Latte pearls dotted about the page.

I have thoroughly enjoyed using this paper range and from the very moment I saw it I had a smile on my face as it is such a cute collection.

Do Everything With Love with Full Bloom

Karen here with my first page using Kaisercraft’s Full Bloom collection.

I really love the Flower Bunch mini stencil and really wanted to make a page that showcased how pretty it is.

I started with a piece of Cocoanut Weave cardstock and divided the reverse (smoother side) into six panels measuring 6in tall and 4 in wide.  I then, with the stencil taped into place, spread some texture paste through the top right and left and middle bottom one, making sure I wiped it clean each time.

You can just about see the white on white here.  Once the texture paste had dried I dabbed ink onto a silicone sheet – the colours I used are Petal Pink, Berry, Vine and Avocado.

The next step was to use a fine paint brush and a little water to thin the ink and add to the raised texture paste flowers.  I was thrilled with the result!

I trimmed 1cm from all four sides of my white card and mounted it onto a piece of Full Bloom Undergrowth paper.   Next I cut three peices of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad measuring 3.5 x 5.5 and a piece of the pink gingham paper measuring 3.5 x 4.5, also from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

I added the gignham piece, centrally to the centre top panel of my page and using mounting foam dots, added the other three pieces of paper to the centre top and left and right bottom of my page.

chose one of the gorgeous pink and gold phrase cards from the Blooming Foil Paper for my title and placed this centre top of my page. To this I added two doves from the Collectables pack and coloured some leaves and a rose, from the wooden Flourish Pack with Berry and Avocado ink pads to add to the bottom of my panel.

I die cut two flowers using the  Decorative Die Rose Cluster and backed these with off cuts from the 6.5 x 6.5 papers I had used.

Finally I added my photos and used the diecuts and elements from the Collectables pack with a couple of stickers from the sticker sheet to finish my page.

4 5

I for one didn’t realise you could use the little ink pads to paint with and this is something I will be utalising more in the future.
