Make Time for Happiness

Hi everyone,

I am very excited to have to opportunity to share my work with you this month! Here is one of my layouts, “Make Time for Happiness”, using the Kaisercraft Journey Collection. I fell in love with the Blue and Yellow papers, especially the Globe Trotter paper. It just match so perfectly with the blues and yellows in my photo.

I have taken the Globe Trotter Paper and cut it down to 27 cm by 27 cm. I have then applied Ranger Texture Paste – Transparent Matte to the top left and bottom right corners, through a demask type stencil. To add some gold to the background I used the KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – GOLD SHIMMER, by applying over the dried texture paste. To finish the main base I matted it to KAISERCARD SNOW WEAVE CARDSTOCK.

Next I made a frame for the layout using the Adventurer paper. First I cut it down to 29.5 cm by 29.5 cm and then I used the pattern of the paper to cut the inside of the frame with fine scissors and a craft knife. This frame can be attached using Mounting Foam Tape. I then used the bottom strips from Roamer and Adventurer paper to add some blue to the frame.

Next I made some framing layers for my photo using some papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 inch paper pad and left overs from Adventurer and Globe Trotter papers. I have also fussy cut the gold foil lantern paper from the paper pad and used them on the top left and bottom right of my layout. Lastly, I used the “ALWAYS find time for things that make you feel HAPPY” quote from the Meanderer paper and Rhinestones – Deep Yellow to embellish my layout.

European Journey

Hi everyone,

I am very excited to have to opportunity to share my work with you this month! Here is one of my layouts, “European Journey”, using the Kaisercraft Journey Collection. I fell in love with the books from the Globe Trotter paper and the collectables. I thought I would make an “explorer desk” kind of layout with many photos to be documented.

I have cut 2x KAISERCARD SHADOW WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 30.5 x 30.5 cm. Next I cut Tourist paper to 28 cm x 28 cm and then it cut diagonally. To the middle of the double layout, I attached the Tourist triangles to form a diagonal strip. I then used 2.5 cm x 30 cm strips of Traveler paper to top and bottom frame to the layout. I left approximately 5 mm from the outsides of the layout when sticking these down.

Using a Navy Ink and a Tim Holtz Stencil, I inked diagonally along the edges of the Traveler paper. I roughly stamped over the blue inking using the KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE  and a script stamp. Next I cut out the books from Roamer paper and layered them on the top left and bottom right of the double layout.

I have cut 6 pieces of KAISERCARD SNOW WEAVE CARDSTOCK at 5.4 cm x 8.4 cm and cut out the centers to create polaroid-like frames. Then I Attached photos to the back of the frames. I stuck the framed photos on top of the books, as though they have fallen there. Next I embellished with the collectables. For the final steps, I cut out 24 crosses from Vagabond paper and foam tape 6 crosses in a line from both bottom corners and 12 on the top, in the middle of the top. Added some RHINESTONES – DARK BLUE, ivory string and KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML splatters to finish.
