A Happy Life with Memory Lane

Hi everyone,

Denise here today with my final layout using the lovely Memory Lane Kaisercraft collection.

IMG_1645resized banner

I wanted to use the muted browns and beige colours of this collection for something different so started by using a piece of Kraft cardstock.

I then gutted a piece of Lakeside paper to leave a one inch frame so I could use the middle for matting then  used a punch around the page to make a pretty edge. This was then adhered to the kraft background.

Next I cut some varying layers of papers including two from the 6.5 x 6.5  paper pad and two from the 12 x 12 collection, Jade Jewel and the lacy side of Villawood.

I distressed the edges with a distressing tool first, then laid them on the background to see how I liked them. Once I was happy I mounted  them on to foam tape to add depth.

My photo was mounted on to an embossed paper from the 6×6 pad .

Next, I used some Kaisermists in black and pale green to add some colour to the background

I wanted to get a vintage kind of look to this so used some Frayed Burlap distress ink around the edges of the embellishments and papers.

I love to tuck things under edges and used some of the little tags from the 6 x 6 pad and flowers from the Collectables to embellish around the layout.

I also punched some little brown stars from the paper to use as embellishments.

I used some hemp twine to wrap around the paper and through the tag and some star Epoxy Stickers to finish off.

It was nice to change it up a bit and use a different colourway of  this versatile collection and hope you are inspired !

You are Special with Memory Lane

Hi everyone,

Denise here today with my second layout using the Memory Lane collection.

IMG_1455-resized banner

This is a beautiful delicate collection and I’m really enjoying working with it,I’ve used lots of Collectables from the collectables pack on this layout.

My base was a sheet of Spring Breeze paper. I used some pale green shimmer paint through a Diamond stencil to add some colour to the background. Next I pierced holes all the way around the edges with the Sew Easy Piercer then stitched with some pale green thread. I’m loving sewing on layouts at the moment !

Next I took two papers from the 6×6 paper pad,cut them to size then distressed the edges with a paper distresser and matted them behind my photo which I placed over to the left on the layout.IMG_1455

I then started to place my collectables around the photo and on the layout and once happy adhered them with a mixture of glue and foam tape.

I also used some  Sea Breeze Epoxy Stickers a embellishments using two teardrops together to make hearts.

This is a lovely delicate collection and I’m looking forward to making  another project with it soon .

I fussy cut some big flowers from the Tropic paper and tucked them under left side of the photo.

Documented Scrapbook Layout

Good morning everyone.

Today I’m delighted to be bringing you a scrapbook layout using the wonderful sepia toned ‘Documented’ collection. I just love the warm tones of this collection and it’s just perfect for heritage layouts and school photo’s.. I’m sure we’ve all got plenty of those lying around just waiting to be scrapped.

However, today I’ve chosen to scrap some completely up to date photos to show how versatile this gorgeous set of papers are.

First, I took a page of Latte Weave Kaisercard and I used my  WRMK Stitch Piercer to create a grid pattern on the page. I then stitched it using two strands of the Brown Easy Floss. This left me with three square in each row measuring approximately 3.5″ x 3’5 inches.

I then took a sheet of Kraft Kaisercard and cut it into 3″ squares and stamped a few pieces using the Kaisercraft Vintage Ink Pad and the Documented Clear Stamp Set.

I then cut more layers of paper to place in stacks in each block measuring approximately 3 1/4″ . For these layers I used the 6″ paper pad and I selected the tape measures page, the typewriter keys, the library ephemera and the plain sepia leatherette page. I also punched one of the stamped pieces into a heart shape and used two photos to create the final layers on the opposite corner blocks and finished the other blocks with the stamped Kraft card. In addition I stamped a small piece of vellum to place over the finished clusters.

To finish I used lots of embellishments including Lucky Dip Wooden Shapes, buttons from my stash, stickers from the sticker sheet, a page from the paper pad, hemp cord, Natural Lace (currently in the sale) and some Sparklets from the Daffodil collection and some Natural Epoxy Stickers and some collectables from the Collectable Pack. I then finished it off with some heat embossed cardboard Thickers from my stash.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed this mini tutorial and that you’ll pop back next week to see my next layout using this collection..until then… Have a good week!

Always Choose Happiness with Bombay Sunset

Hello everyone,

Denise here with another layout using the gorgeous Bombay Sunset Kaisercraft Collection.

main photoThe colours of this collection put me in mind of hot climates so I decided to use a large photo featuring my son and his girlfriend in the sand.

I used Licorice Kaisercard as my base then took Sari paper, cut down by half an inch on two sides.

I placed the photo just underneath the top border, without sticking first of all.

Next I took some of the white cheesecloth, and sprayed with Orange and Red Kaisermists to match the papers.

Photo 10-06-2017, 14 42 46I cut a strip then ruffled it underneath the photo.

Photo 12-06-2017, 20 06 59

I then took some of the colourful papers from the 6.5 x6.5 pad, ripped strips then layered them underneath the photo.

Photo 12-06-2017, 20 07 12I flicked some of the Kaisermists over the papers and the main paper.

Next I used some of the die cuts from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad  to place under the photo and over the cheesecloth as banners.

Photo 12-06-2017, 20 06 47I used some borders from the Sticker Sheet across the middle and bottom of the layout.

Photo 12-06-2017, 20 07 28I also used some Rhinestones for embellishments, together with some EpoxyStickers and Gold Metallic Hemp Cord.

I’ve enjoyed using this warm vibrant collection and hope you will pop back for some more inspiration from the team very soon.

Choose Happy with Bombay Sunset

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my first layout using the gorgeously vibrant Bombay Sunset Collection.

Photo 31-05-2017, 18 31 59This collection really is packed full of colour and lent itself to a summer flowery photo I have of my friend and me at a summer barbecue.

I started by using the pink side of Bollywood paper. Next I used some Coconut Weave Kaisercard which was cut down.

I used a Bubbly Mini Designer Stencil and sprayed through it onto the card with two mists, firstly Orange, then Pink.

Photo 31-05-2017, 15 04 45

Photo 31-05-2017, 18 31 44After I had done this I sprayed completely over the layout and the circles.

I used the same paper as the background from the 6.5 x6.5  Paper Pad as a background for my photo.

My photo was matted on to Coconut Kaisercard .

I used some of the die cuts from the Collectables Pack to tuck in and around the photo to embellish.. Photo 31-05-2017, 18 31 41Some were used for the title words too.

I also used some Sunshine Epoxy Stickers to dot around the layout and some Yellow  rhinestones.

I layered some die cut flowers from the Collectables pack in the corner by the photo, these were raised on foam tape.

Photo 31-05-2017, 18 31 59I  had fun making this layout and hope you’ve enjoyed it !

Dogs Rule with Pawfect

Hello everyone,

Denise here with something a little different this time, a heart shaped wall hanging using the lovely Pawfect Kaisercraft collection.

Photo 12-04-2017, 16 47 28I saw this heart wall art below  in the Merly Impressions shop and loved it so I decided to use it across two collections.

Beyond the Page - Large Heart Silhouette Wall Art

I took the heart out of the middle and am going to use the frame at a later date. ( watch this space !)

First off I drew around the heart using Puppy paper then covered the heart with it to give it a base.

Photo 12-04-2017, 09 53 33I then chose two other papers – the furry side of cats and the tan chevron side of Pawsome.

I cut these into two sections and covered the heart.

I used a polaroid type frame mounted on foam tape from the Collectables Pack to frame my photo.

Photo 12-04-2017, 16 47 28I used some elements from the Sticker Sheet to embellish the heart.

Photo 12-04-2017, 14 51 59I loved the big paw so I mounted it onto a heart then used some of the smaller paws from the sticker sheet to dot around.

Photo 12-04-2017, 14 52 04Finally I cut one of the sayings from the journalling cards on the Ruff paper, inked around the edges with the very aptly named Bark Ink pad and added some Epoxy Stickers, then drew some faux stitches just inside the heart with the paw on with a  Kaisercolour Gel Pen.

I am really enjoying using this collection as my dogs are very precious to me and I don’t scrapbook them as often as I should really, so its given me a chance to !

A Day To Remember with Party Time

Good morning everyone,

Denise here with my final layout using thelovely  Party Time Kaisercraft Collection.

photo-20-12-2016-09-12-24-2I started by using a sheet of Coconut Kaisercard as my base. I then selected some of the sheets which are all really colourful – Carousel, Hooray, Streamers and Fireworks papers.

photo-19-12-2016-19-46-05I then cut seven strips of  the papers into 2 x 12 inch strips.

photo-19-12-2016-19-51-21Next I punched down one long side of each strip with a pretty doily edge punch.

photo-19-12-2016-20-09-26I laid them across the the card base to decide their order.

photo-19-12-2016-20-12-38I then added foam tape to just the punched edge on each strip to raise the edge from the card.

photo-19-12-2016-20-33-42These were then layered on top of each other to half way up the base. I used a  wording sticker from the sticker sheet across the middle.

photo-20-12-2016-09-26-54I then added my photos which were matted on to 100s and 1000s paper and placed in the middle of the layout. Next I mounted some banners from the sticker sheet underneath the photos. I also used some die cuts from the Collectables as embellishments across the frilled strips and at the top of the layout.

Words cut from the sticker sheet and mounted on foam tape were used as my title and some Epoxy Star Stickers in Sea Breeze were used to embellish.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects from everyone, Merry Christmas from me and there will be more inspiration from the team very soon.

~Denise~ xx

Celebrate with Party Time!

Today I’m bringing you a mixed media scrapbook layout using the pretty Party Time  Kaisercraft collection .

Using the Double Scoop paper from the Party Time collection, I  created a mixed media background by dry brushing Dina Wakely gesso and adding Ranger’s modelling paste similar to the Tim Holtz layering stencil. I then added Kaisermists Antique gold, White and Winter Grey with some additional Tattered Angel shimmer mist and edged the whole page with a Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap inkpad. I then used the Festive Quarters stencil with another Tim Holtz ink pad, Peeled Paint to create the pattern on the right.

Using the same ink pads I used the Kaisercraft ‘Crackle’ and ‘Flutter’ stamps and randomly stamped them over the misting and the strips of paper from the Party Time 6″ paper pad. I also used the Party Time embossing folder on some Kaisercard smooth White card stock and punched some circles and some strips too.

imageI then layered some of the hessian from the burlap roll in the lucky dip range beneath the photo. I matted the photo (of my Daughter in Law as a bridesmaid – 2nd left) on more of the white Kaisercard and embellished it with KC paper blooms, more flowers and KC wooden flourish bows that I inked with the KC Red Gum ink pad.

Using the Party Time sticker sheet I added the hearts, chevrons and zig zags and I used a few of the elements from the collectables pack including the ‘Smile’ title together with the ‘Celebrate’ sub-title that I cut from the Hooray sheet from the collection. I also punched some of the circle words from the Confetti 12″ sheet.

Cropped imageTo highlight the modelling paste I used the Kaisercraft Gel Pens to edge the raised parts and then to finish it all off. (I can’t tell you how much I love these pens..you should pop some on your Christmas wish list now!) Finally I added some coordinating buttons, pearls and Kaisercraft Sunshine epoxy stickers.

When I first looked at this collection I thought that it leant itself to birthday celebrations yet both of the layouts I have created with the collection have not been birthday related..it just goes to show how versatile it is!

Party Time Cards

Hello everyone,

Denise here with some cards using the pretty Party Time Kaisercraft Collection

photo-11-12-2016-13-25-05-22This collection is ideal for not only scrapbooking your celebrations but also for making some cards. The first card I made was a birthday card using a square card, I folded the front side in half and back on itself to create a different shaped card.

I covered the base of both sides with papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad then matted an ice cream cone paper from the pad onto this.

I used a punch to create a decorative element across the middle of the card. Next I took a  birthday candles strip from the Sticker Sheet  and added it across the top of the punched strip.

I used a Happy Birthday die cut element from the Collectables Pack as my main image and also added some onto the card as embellishments – these were all mounted using foam tape. Some Sea Breeze Star Epoxy Stickers were also used to embellish the card.

The Second Card photo-11-12-2016-13-25-38-2This was using papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad again. I decided to go pink and florally on this one and use it as an invitation card. The papers were cut into rectangles then I snipped some frills into the edges to add some texture. I had such a lovely time snipping away ! I inked around the edges of the card with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, then added some twine . I finished off with a bloom which was enhanced with a Kaiser Pastel gel pen .

The last card I decided to make as an easel card photo-11-12-2016-13-26-25-2I used papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad again for this one. I used 6 x 6 cards for this. Firstly I matted and layered papers onto the card, then as before used some die cut elements from the Collectables Pack as embellishments, adding some twine again as the strings for the balloon. Again I used some Epoxy Stickers to embellish the card.

I had lots of fun making these cards especially as there are so many papers in the 6.5 x 6.5 pad  you have lots of choice. Please do pop back for more inspiration from the team very soon.
