Love with Grand Bazaar

Hello Kaisercraft fans,

Emmy here today sharing my latest layout I created for Merly Impressions’ blog using the lovely Grand Bazaar collection from Kaisercraft (available at Merly Impressions’ online store).MI-Love-web530To create my background I used Folklore pattern paper and Boho Paisley pattern paper. I cut a 15 x 30 cm panel from each pattern paper, distressed their edges using a Paper Distresser and adhered them on top of a Kaisercard Blueberry Weave cardstock. To ‘hide’ the stitch between two pattern papers, I adhered one of the cut-off stripes on top.

Then using Garden 6×6 Designer Stencil and Texture Paste I created the white dimensional pattern on the dark blue half and using the Clear Stamp – Lattice and KaiserInk Pad – Chocolate I stamped the brownish pattern on the lighter half of my background paper. Once the paste has dried I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – White and KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold on all layers. MI-Love-det-aa

MI-Love-det-b MI-Love-det-c

I layered my picture on a slightly larger panel of Kaisercard Marble Weave Cardstock. For the layers under my picture I used a glossy pattern paper from the the Paper Pad and fussy cut embellishments from Ceramic Tiles pattern paper and Doorway pattern paperMI-Love-det-dI fussy cut flowers from the Boho Paisley pattern paper, combined them with pre-cut blossoms from the Collectables pack and adhered them using Mounting Foam Tape. Then I decorated them with Rhinestones – Island Lagoon and Curios matching the collection. MI-Love-det-e MI-Love-det-f

To decorate my page further I used stickers from the Sticker book matching the collection.

For my title I used a large sticker word, which I adhered using Mounting Foam Dots. Once it was secured on the background, I decorated it with Rhinestones – Island LagoonMI-Love-det-g

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a wonderful creative weekend!

To finish off my background design I distressed the edges of the pattern paper with Paper Distresser and adhered it on top of the cardstock with Kaisercraft 12mm Double-sided Tape.MI-Be-brave-det-a MI-Be-brave-det-b

I layered my picture on a slightly larger panel of Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and a larger panel from the Collective pattern paper. I inked the edges of the patter paper panel with KaiserInk Pad – Chocolate and then I used fussy cut embellishments from different pattern papers to create the layers under it. I cut the hexagons from the Ceramic Tiles pattern paper and and colourful doors from the Doorway pattern paper. I adhered everything together using Mounting Foam Tape.MI-Be-brave-det-c MI-Be-brave-det-dFor the flower corner I used Kaisercraft paper Blooms Sage, pre-cut elements from the Paper Pad and stickers from the Sticker book matching the collection. MI-Be-brave-det-e MI-Be-brave-det-f

Portugal Adventures with Grand Bazaar

Hi fellow crafters,

I was very excited to receive the GRAND BAZAAR collection to work on for this month. As soon as I saw it, I just knew I had the perfect photos to scrap using it! I think this collection is good for many different types of projects, from love photos, to adventures and childhood memories. It also very suitable for Male layouts and all sorts of greetings cards. This collection has many colours which can be used all together in a project or separated to focus on just 2 or 3 colours. I found that my photos suited the more selective type of colours. For example, I have focused on the blue and yellow tones for this layout. I have then further focused on the doors and tiles to compliment my photo and to express my memory of Portugal as you will find many intricate tiles and beautiful doors during an adventure there.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  1. Take CERAMIC TILES (yellow side), trim to 29.5 x 29.5 cm. Using a CRAFT KNIFE, cut 4 sets of 5 tiles from the middle of the reverse side. Apply TEXTURE PASTE to the yellow side of the page, in the middle of of each side, through the ORNATE DAMASK 6X6 DESIGNER STENCIL.

  2. Use KAISERINK PAD – DENIM to stamp CLEAR STAMP – LATTICE on to the prepared CERAMIC TILES background.
  3. Cut KAISERCARD BLUEBERRY WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 12 x12 inch. Adhere prepared CERAMIC TILES to the middle of the cardstock, leaving the bottom right hand corner free to be folded back. Fold back corner and adhere the tip. Slot one of the 5 tile sets under the folded corner and adhere.

  4. Take photo with dimensions of 10.2 x14 cm and adhere to a yellow sheet from PAPER PAD – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTION with dimension of 11.3 x 15 cm. Foam tape mounted photo onto a blue patterned sheet, also from PAPER PAD – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTION, with dimensions of 13 x 16.5 cm. Foam tape to the centre of the layout.

  5. Cut the blue and yellow doors and patterned sections from DOORWAY – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTION and the matching sheets from PAPER PAD – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTION. Layer these around the the photo, trimming them if required. Cut down the 3 left over sets of 5 tiles from Step 1 and layer them around the photo.Portugal Adventures With Grand Bazaar 4
  6. Embellish the layout with COLLECTABLES – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTIONSTICKER BOOK – GRAND BAZAAR COLLECTION,  MINI PAPER BLOOMS – ICEBERG and  CHEESECLOTH GAUZE.
