Shanghai with Hanami Garden

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here today with my last project for March featuring Kaisercraft’s Hanami Garden collection (available at Merly Impressions’ online store) and Kaisercraft StencilsMI-Shanghai-web-530To create my background I used two pattern papers – Tsuki and Sora. I cut off 1cm from two sides of the Tsuki pattern paper and then I layered it on top of the Sora pattern paper. Then using Cherry Blossom Mini Designer Stencil, embossing ink and gold embossing powder, I heat embossed the set to create the extra gold pattern. MI-Shanghai-det- (1) MI-Shanghai-det- (3)I layered my picture on a slightly bigger piece of Kaisercard Coconut Weave Cardstock altered with Mini Distress Ink Pad – Old Paper. Then I adhered it on top of pattern paper from the Paper Pad. MI-Shanghai-det- (5)To decorate my page I used die cuts from the the Paper Pad and the Collectables pack, and stickers from the Sticker SheetMI-Shanghai-det- (7)For the flower cluster I used Mini Paper Blooms (Fire Red and Black) and Paper Blooms (Fire Red and Terracotta). I fussy cut the cherry blooms from a pattern paper from the Paper Pad and die cut the foliage with Decorative Die Mini Foliage. MI-Shanghai-det- (8) MI-Shanghai-det- (2)As a final touch I added Rhinestones – Black and Rhinestone Sparklets (Rouge and Coral) and I tied some Metallic Hemp Cord, Gold around the flowers.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hanami Garden Box Birthday Card

Hi all

Every now and again a collection comes along that you think.. ‘Wow! That is a really special collection’ and the new Hanami Garden is one of those. so today I’m pleased to be bringing you this box card made using this stunning oriental themed range.

Full CardTo begin with I used this tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers  for the base using Tomato Weave Kaisercard. Having made the box  I then took my 12′ collection pack and selected the Kireina sheet and cut to size. I then mounted these on Licorice Kaisercard and ended up with this.

Plain cardI then took the co-ordinating Mini Designer Bamboo Stencil and stamped through it onto a sheet of vellum, surrounding it with a frame, cut with a craft knife. I then heat embossed it with black sparkly embossing powder and centred it on the back panel.

Screen at backI then used several stickers from the sticker sheet, and die cuts from the collectable pack and the 6.5″ paper pad using strips of Acetate to adhere to the strips of card inside the box. I also chose several die cuts to decorate the outside flaps and used a little sisal to give extra dimension under the central flap dies.

From the topThe beauty of this box card is that it also fold flat for posting!

closedcardI do hope you’ve liked this little tutorial and I hope it inspires you to have a go at something a little different! One thing is for certain, if you buy this beautiful collection you won’t be disappointed! It really is versatile with it’s red, pink, black and gold there is something in there for everyone.

Hanami Garden Scrapbook Layout

Hi everyone.

Today I have pleasure in showing you a layout using the wonderful Hanami Garden which has fast become my favourite collection (I know I say that every time but Kaisercraft keep bringing out such great collections!) LOL

FullSizeRender (80)Firstly I took the gorgeous Cherry Blossom Kasa Paper and the Kireina Paper and spliced them together to make one 12″ sheet.

I then took several pages from the 6.5″ paper pad and layered them like this.

FullSizeRender (79)I then added the photograph which I first mounted on Scarlet Weave Cardstock and adhered using foam pads for extra dimension. I then fussy cut several pieces of cherry blossom and magnolias from two sheets of paper within the paper pad and made a large cluster to the right of the photo using die cuts from the collectables pack  and the sticker sheet too. I punched some leaves and butterflies and added Red Rhinestones for a little sparkle too. I then nestled some Fire Red Mini Blooms in amongst the arrangement.

FullSizeRender (81)To finish off the page I took several Die cuts from the collectables pack and the paper pad and added some stickers too and placed them among the layers of paper and above the photograph. The title is from the sticker sheet. The labels at the top of the paper arrangement are from the paper pad and I have added Cherry Red Hemp cord to tie through them.

FullSizeRender (80)I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my creation and hope it inspires you to join in too.

Hi Everyone,

The March Merly Crop will soon be upon us, so here are the details and some sneak peeks of the layouts that you will be able to create using the crop kit. The kit will also be available to purchase online the day after the crop for anyone who can not attend. For this kit I have used papers from the beautiful “Hanami Garden” Kaisercraft collection.

16265993_10154038779790356_5209180686629907847_nThe complete collection features intricate patterns, cherry blossom images and feminine touches illustrated in bold, striking red and gold colours. Also supplied in the kit are coordinating rhinestones, DMC cotton, 3 x Kaisercard sheets, a (flower) pricking paper template and detailed instructions with coloured photo’s for you to follow so you can create the two layouts that I have designed.

Below are some sneak peeks of the first layout which I’ve called “Life is measured by moments” it uses one coloured photo measuring 9.5cm wide by 14cm high, it is surrounded by fussy cut cherry blossom and the base paper has hand stitched flowers created using the template.

There is some simple stitching on this one and I have also used a gold glitter pen to highlight the embossed pattern on the black card section and coloured in some of the little segments on the cloud base paper.

Gold & red Glitter pens (optional) a needle for sewing, foam pads  and a small pair of scissors as there is some fussy cutting on both layouts. We will however have a selection of ink pads & Foam dots/roll Kaiser Glitter pen sets available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

Hamani Garden Scrapbook Layout

Good morning.

Today I am delighted to be bringing you a scrapbook layout using the unusual and attractive Hanami Garden, Oriental themed collection.

Full Parasol LOFirst I took the stunningly beautiful Tsuki Paper and the  Parasol Die Cut sheet and I traced the outline of the bottom printed element using a craft knife. I then interlinked them like this, tucking the parasol paper beneath the raised cut out section of the Tsuki paper.

FullSizeRender (76)I then took the photograph and mounted it on a piece of black paper from the 6.5″ paper pad and mounted it on foam pads. I then added the red and cream magnolia die cut from the collectables pack and some large Flame Red blooms and mini Honey paper blooms with a twisted swirl of Cherry Red Hemp cord.

FullSizeRender (78)I then added lots of Silver Rhinestones to the centre of the printed magnolias on the Tsuki Paper and the die cuts and randomly placed others. I then took one of my favourite Kaisercolour Gel Pens and traced the edges and accents of the magnolias to make them all pop even more.

Close up of Glitter Pens workI finished it off with another die cut sentiment from the collectables pack and a sub title using alphas similar to these Tiny Alpha Stickers .

It just goes to show how this very different, yet somehow versatile, collection is. I do hope you like what you see and will be tempted to have a try yourself.
