Special Moment Layout by Karen

Today we have our second beautiful layout by Karen Hicks.

This photo of Karen’s daughter Katie was also taken in Florence.

Special Moment Layout

Karen used the lovely Honey Chai collection for her second layout as well. For the base of the layout Karen used the Nutmeg paper and distressed the edges. Other papers used were Ginger which is the strip to the left of the layout and the reverse side of the Sage paper.

The butterfly, birds and special moment saying were all from the collectables pack.

Karen also used some dies to create the lovely flowers and cogs which work perfectly with the layout.

Be Happy with Honey Chai

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here with a new project to share.

MI-Be-Happy-web1

To create my layout I used the amazing Kaisercraft Honey Chai collection and some embellishments from the Blubelle line.

For my background I used Kaisercard Coconut Weave cardstock, which I altered with different masks and stamps. I used Tim Holtz Bubble layering stencil with Kaisercolour Paint Pistachio.

Then I completed my design using Kaisercraft clear stamps “Film Edges”, “Vintage Journey”, “Blae & Ivy” and “Kaleidoscope”.

I created the different layers under my picture using Honey Chai Paper Pad and different punches. I decorated them with Kaisercraft Pearls Champagne.

I used different die cuts from Honey Chai Collectables Pack to embellish my page. I embossed them slightly and adhered them with mounting foam tape.

Mix and Match your Kaisercraft Collections

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here with a short tutorial to share – how to Mix & Match different collections to create an unique, tailor-made colour combination, perfect for your pictures!

MI-Believe-web

To create my layout I needed green and purple colour palette, so I decided to mix one of the newest Kaisercraft collections “Honey Chai” with last year’s “Lavendar Haze”. Both collections have really soft shaded colours and they look perfect together.

As usual I did a lot of fussy cutting, using the special gloss papers from both collections – “Clove” and “Puce”.

MI-Believe-det-a (2)

For my background I used the Violet pattern paper from Lavendar Haze, which I altered with different clear stamps {Diamonds background stamp, Lattice background stamp and Kaleidoscope collection stamps}. I added the large frame from Honey Chai “All Spice” die cut paper to complete my composition.

The charming little embellishments I fussy cut from Honey Chai 6.5″ paper pad and adhered them with mounting tape to my page.

I also used the Collectables packages from both collections {Lavendar Haze and Honey Chai} and a lot of Silver glitter glue.

We have a couple of guest designer layouts on the blog for the month of May and our first guest designer with her lovely layout “Dream” is Karen Hicks. The photo of Karen’s beautiful daughter Katie was taken in Florence at the Boboil Gardens.

Karen used the lovely Honey Chai collection for her layout. The Sage base paper has been distressed round the edges then on top of that Karen used the Tarragon paper which has also been distressed and has lovely sewing round the edges, before matting those two together Karen has added some lovely detail using Kaisercraft Cream Lace pack. The beautiful photo has been matted onto a couple of pages from the Honey Chai paper pad. Karen has also used some die cut elements from the paper pad & Collectable pack to decorate round the edges of the photo along with Kaisercraft pearl flourishes.

Challenge Inspiration from Emmy

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here with a brand new layout created for Merly Impressions’ May “Spring is in the Air” Challenge.

This month I have the pleasure to create with the amazing Honey Chai Collection from Kaisercraft:

MI-May-Challenge-web

Creating a Spring themed layout was very easy with this paper line – just look at the soft green colours and all the flourishes. I used one of Elise’s most recent pictures, taken this spring in Wrest park.

I used Kaisercard Coconut Weave Cardstock as a base for my layout. I fussy cut the swirly frame from the Clove Gloss Paper and adhered it with mounting foam tape to the cardstock. MI-may-challenge-det-a (3)I added Kaisercraft Rhinestones Lilac to decorate the edges. I used masking template and different stamps {Film Edges Clear Stamps and Hummingbird stamp set} to create the pattern on the cardstock.

MI-may-challenge-det-a (4)

To decorate my page I used two different types of Kaisercraft flowers – Mini Paper Blooms “Amethyst” and Paper Blooms “Sage”.

MI-may-challenge-det-a (1)

I used also the die cuts and papers form the matching Paper Pad

MI-may-challenge-det-a (5)

… and the Collectables pack.

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

And don’t forget you’ve got until June 2nd, 2014 to add your creation to the gallery under the May Challenge post. We will then choose our favourite layout to win a fantastic prize – a £25.00 voucher to spend on anything you want from the Merly Impressions online store.

Have a great day!
