Life Itself is the Most Wonderful Fairytale with Flowers Story

Hello, Karen here with my final project for February using the lovely Flowers Story range from ScrapBoys.  IMG_2540

This time I decided to make a double layout – mainly because the paper pack has two of every paper and it would would be a shame not to utalise them ( the paper pack is an absolute bargain  – 12 papers, plus a fussy cutting sheet, for £9.95).

The final page was a happy accident as I had planned for the two pages to be the opposite way round (with the small centre cluster in the middle) but when I laid them down to photograph put them the opposite way round and liked it better – the joy of double pages :0).

For this page I have used the Flowers Story paper pack, one piece of Paper 07  Mandela 12 x 12 Stencil, Red Gum Ink Pad and two sheets of Oatmeal Kaisercard.

I started by trimming .5 in from one side and the bottom of two pieces of Paper 05 and adding it to my Oatmeal Kaisercard. I laid them side by side and used the Mandela 12 x 12 Stencil and the Red Gum Ink Pad to add a pattern to the centre.

Next I cut the cluster of flowers from both pieces of Paper 03 and added them to the centre of the Mandela. I cut Paper 02 in half vertically and fussy cut around the flowers, adding this to the far left and far right of my pages.

From Paper 07 and the corresponding sheet from the paper pack I cut Four butterflies, two large and two small watch faces and four black and white flowers. I added these to the small cluster and top and bottom of the cascade of flowers down the centre.

From Paper 06, I cut four large frames and added them to my page, with my photos on top.

Right Left

I used ‘Life itself is the most WONDERFUL FAIRYTALE stamp and a scrap of paper for my title.

I have really enjoyed working with this paper range this month and have found it so versatile, it is the perfect range for both male and female projects.

Love with Whisper

Karen here with my first project using Whisper Kaisercraft collection.  This range has so much potential, all types of photographs will look gorgeous when used with this collection – coloured, black and white and sepia.

For this page I have used Kaisercard Pebble cardstock, Fern Bracket Die Cut, Earthy paper, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Collectables, Ferns 6 x 6 Stencil, Decorative Fern Leaf Die, Whisper Clear Stamps and Kaisercraft Chocolate Ink Pad.

I started by cutting .5 in from top and one side of the Earthy paper and mounting this onto  Kaisercard Pebble cardstock.  I added the Fern Bracket Die Cut using foam pads to lift it slightly from the Earthy paper.

Using the Kaisercraft Chocolate Ink Pad and Whisper Clear Stamps I stamped some ferns along the bottom of the die cut.  I then used a blending tool to add ink through the  Ferns 6 x 6 Stencil.  Next, I dabbed some of the ink onto a silicone sheet and mixed some texture paste to make some cream coloured texture paste and used this with the  Ferns 6 x 6 Stencil but this time spread it through the large fern.  Finally I used the Decorative Fern Leaf Die to cut some ferns from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and added them at the bottom of the page with some ferns from the Collectables pack.

I matted my photo onto two pieces of paper from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and placed at the top right of my page, using the word ‘love’ as a title, adding a butterfly and a phrase to the top of my photo and a butterfly and phrase to the bottom left of my photo – all from the Collectables  pack.

The final touch was to stamp some butterflies from the Whispers stamp set onto white card, fussy cut them out and tuck them behind elements on the left and bottom of my page.

I am really pleased with this page as it evolved without me having any real plans as to how it would look.

Under The Sea with Deep Sea

Karen here with my last project using the Deep Sea collection. I have had this photo for seven years waiting to scrap.  It’s of Gracia and Josh when they were 18 and went travelling around Europe between finising their A Levels and starting University.  I think they were staying on a Greek Island but no matter it’s a lovely photo and this range is perfect for scrapbooking it.

Under the Sea layout

For this layout I have used Kaisercard in Caribbean, Sea Floor and Snorkel papers, Collectables, border strips from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad, Turtles 6 x 6 designer stencil, Kaisercraft ink pad – Peacock and Bliss pearls.

I started by cutting .25 inch from the top and right side of the Sea Floor paper and adhering it to the  Caribbean card.  I then used the Turtles 6 x 6 designer stencil and Peacock ink pad to add seaweed to the bottom of my page.  I used a scrap of paper to mask off the areas of the stencil I didn’t want to use.  I think this gives the illusion of the turtle swimming behind the seaweed.

I then created a ‘sea bed’ using two border strips from the  6.5 x 6.5 pad and a branding strip from one of the papers (sorry can’t remember which one) and added shells, starfish, seaweed and turtles from the Collectables pack.

I added my photo and used more Collectables and a turtle cut from the Snorkel paper to make a cluster at the top right of my photo.

Finally I added more turtles from the Collectables and Snorkel paper with little Bliss pearl bubbles rising from their mouths.

This was the perfect paper range for my photo and I am delighted with the finished page.

Beautiful with Misty Mountains

Karen here with second of my April pages using  Misty Mountains Kaisercraft collection .  I can’t get enough of this range as each and every sheet is so pretty.

BeautifulFor this page I featured the Damask Mini Stencil, Paint Strokes Stamp, Orchid Ink Pad and Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.

I cut ½ in from the top and one side of the Marbled paper.  I then used the Damask Mini Stencil and Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste in four areas of the paper.  Once this was dried I gave it a light coat of Gesso and wiped over the areas with the texture paste with a baby wipe to reveal the colour of the paper below.  As I thought this worked in the same way as transparent embossing powder but with less faff!

Detail 1Once the Gesso had dried I stamped with the Paint Strokes Stamp and  Orchid Ink Pad across the texture paste areas but in the opposite direction.  I also ‘dabbed’ the ink pad through the stencil in areas.

Detail 2I cut a 5¾ x 7¾ rectangle from a piece of Lilac Weave Cardstock  and adhered the Marbled paper to the centre of the remaining piece.

Detail 4Cut branding strips from two of your papers and the Devine paper to add around the outside of your page.

To complete my page I added two pieces of paper from the Misty Mountain Paper Pad , stuck together and trimmed to 6½ x 5¼, to the piece of Lilac card from  above and then my photo was added to this.  I also cut some of the phrases from the Misty Mountain Paper Pad to add, with some phrases and the word ‘beautiful from the Collectables pack, at the top right and bottom left of my page.

Looking forward to showing you my next project

Tea Time in Wonderland

Hello everyone,

Denise here, I hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday. I’m back today with a layout using the very gorgeous High Tea Kaisercraft Collection.

146BBThe team have been focusing on the many rubber stamps this month and I used the lovely

Floral Wallpaper texture background stamp.

Clear Texture Stamp - Floral Wallpaper

I started by using the grey side of the Afternoon Tea paper and stamped over half of it with a kaisercraft  mini black ink pad.

132I then cut this and the Tea Time paper down to measure 11 x 11 and stuck them on to the  Cuppa paper. I also cut round the teapot and flowers at the bottom right hand corner with a craft knife then raised the teapot with foam pads to add some interest at the bottom.

135Next I used some Candy Kaisermist ( one of my favourites at the moment) and flicked over the layout.139I added a border strip from the sticker sheet across the middle .

My photos were matted on to white kaisercard then layered on to some more of the papers.

I used some of the many die cuts from the Collectables Pack to embellish around the layout

147Together with some gems and heart stickers from the sticker sheet.

I also drew around the edges with a Kaiser Gel Pen to finish off.  There are certainly some amazing collections being released constantly and I am so loving working with these – hope you are enjoying the inspiration from the team.

Notelet and card holder using High Tea collection

Hi everyone,

Elaine here again and this time I’m bringing you a notelet/card holder and 11 notelets made using the gorgeous High Tea Kaisercraft collection.

image imageTo make this I scoured You Tube to find a good tutorial and I finally came across this tutorial here which will give you all the dimensions you need to replicate the item.

To make the cover I used white cardstock and folded it as per the instructions in the video and ended up with these pieces.

image imageThen I set about covering them with the papers from the High Tea collection. The inside I covered using the Tea Time sheet mounted on to Kaisercard Flamingo and a piece of floral patterned paper from the 6.5 x 6.5″ paper pad on the spine.

For the outside I used more of the Tea Time paper mounted on to the same card.. (please ignore the pink spotty’s my desk!)

imageAfter covering the outside I made a belly band using more of the Flamingo card and added two of the collectables from the pack. I also used the Berry Mini Ink Pad to edge the patterned paper and card.imageTo make the notelets I used this wonderful tutorial from Kaisercrafts design team member, Colette Mitrega where she uses a One Sheet Wonder template here

TemplateThere will be a little bit of trimming to make your template fit the cards as the cards I made were slightly smaller than the ones in Colette’s tutorial.  I ended up with this selection of cards.

image image imageI chose the Tea Leaves paper as my ‘one sheet’  and on each of the notes or cards I have used a collectable from the collectables pack or a pop out die cut from the 6.5 x 6.5 ” paper pad and finished off with stickers from the sticker sheet together with Hot Pink Rhinestones.

I hope you like this set.. I think they would make a wonderful gift for someone!

Top Dog with Pawfect

Photo 22-04-2017, 22 58 29Next I used the Dots and Dashes stencil to add some texture to the background. I also flicked some Olive Kaisermist  all over.

Dots and Dashes Mini Designer Stencil

Photo 22-04-2017, 22 54 19 (1)I layered some of the Burlap Stack under my photo together with some of the Kitty paper.

Burlap Stack - 6x6 Paper Pad

Next I embellished the layout using  lots of stickers from the Sticker Sheet.

Sticker Sheet, Dog - Pawfect Collection

Some of the Collectables were used as embellishments too. I wrapped some  Metallic Hemp Cord around the burlap to add some more texture and to embellish further.

Finally I went over the stenciled paste with some Bark Ink Pad.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all the projects from the team this month and are feeling inspired !

Dogs Rule with Pawfect

Hello everyone,

Denise here with something a little different this time, a heart shaped wall hanging using the lovely Pawfect Kaisercraft collection.

Photo 12-04-2017, 16 47 28I saw this heart wall art below  in the Merly Impressions shop and loved it so I decided to use it across two collections.

Beyond the Page - Large Heart Silhouette Wall Art

I took the heart out of the middle and am going to use the frame at a later date. ( watch this space !)

First off I drew around the heart using Puppy paper then covered the heart with it to give it a base.

Photo 12-04-2017, 09 53 33I then chose two other papers – the furry side of cats and the tan chevron side of Pawsome.

I cut these into two sections and covered the heart.

I used a polaroid type frame mounted on foam tape from the Collectables Pack to frame my photo.

Photo 12-04-2017, 16 47 28I used some elements from the Sticker Sheet to embellish the heart.

Photo 12-04-2017, 14 51 59I loved the big paw so I mounted it onto a heart then used some of the smaller paws from the sticker sheet to dot around.

Photo 12-04-2017, 14 52 04Finally I cut one of the sayings from the journalling cards on the Ruff paper, inked around the edges with the very aptly named Bark Ink pad and added some Epoxy Stickers, then drew some faux stitches just inside the heart with the paw on with a  Kaisercolour Gel Pen.

I am really enjoying using this collection as my dogs are very precious to me and I don’t scrapbook them as often as I should really, so its given me a chance to !
