Secret Garden with Victorian Home

Hello fellow crafters,

Emmy here today sharing my first project for March. For this layout I’ve used the magical Victorian Home collection from ScrapBoys (available at Merly Impressions online store) and a few chipboard pieces.
MI-secret-garden-web530MI-secret-garden2-web530For my background I fussy cut the large doorway from Victorian Home – Paper 01 and then carefully “opened” the door using a Craft Knife. To create the pattern on the inner side of the doors, I used KaiserInk Pad – Chocolate and Kaisercraft Clear Stamp – Flutter. I coloured the butterflies with KaiserInk Pad – Flamingo. Once the ink has dried, I adhered the picture, as shown, with Mounting Foam Tape. Then I adhered the altered doorway to the Victorian Home – Paper 03MI-secret-garden-det-aMI-secret-garden-det-b

To decorate my page I used fussy cut images from Victorian Home – Paper 04Victorian Home – Paper 07 and Victorian Home – Paper 06.MI-secret-garden-det-c MI-secret-garden-det-d MI-secret-garden-det-e

For my title I used chipboard words, which I coloured with KaiserInk Pad – Flamingo. Once the ink has dried, I coated the words withMulti-medium – Gloss and I adhered them to my page using ZIG 2 way Glue Fine PointMI-secret-garden-det-f MI-secret-garden-det-g

Once all the pieces were secure, I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – White and KaiserMist Spray Ink – Rose Gold on top. MI-secret-garden-det-h

As a final touch I added Rhinestones – Soft PinkRhinestones – Orange and Stickles Glitter Glue.

Follow Your Dreams with Victorian Home

Hello fellow crafters,

Emmy here today sharing my first project I created using the cute and romantic Victorian Home collection from ScrapBoys (available at Merly Impressions online store).MI-Follow-your-dreams-web530

For my background I used a beige pattern paper. I cut it in two to ‘put’ the pattern together and adhered the two parts on a Kaisercard Tutu Weave Cardstock. Then using Kaisercraft Mini Designer Template “Butterfly Skies” and KaiserInk Pad – Flamingo I created the pinkish butterfly pattern. Once the ink has dried I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold and KaiserMist Spray Ink – Rose Gold on top. MI-Follow-your-dreams-det-a MI-Follow-your-dreams-det-b

I layered my picture on a slightly larger panel of Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and adhered it to my background using Mounting Foam Tape.

Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters

Hi Everyone,

I have created this layout using the lovely UNCHARTED WATERS collection by Kaisercraft. This collection is gender neutral, making it perfect for all beachy themed photos and projects. I just love this collection with all the shells, beach creatures and boat related items! Since blue is my favourite colour, I love this collection for its colours too and because it is very suitable to co-ordinate in those mixed media effects. I had a bit of fun incorporating a few mixed media techniques in this one, using gesso, KaiserMists, texture paste and stamps!

Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 9

To create this layout I followed the steps below:

  1. Take four sheets from the PAPER PAD – UNCHARTED WATERS and your photo. Trim all to 12.5 x 9 cm and firmly distress the edges using PAPER DISTRESSER. Layer each sheet behind each corner of the photo and set aside.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 2Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 1
  2. Trim SHALLOWS – UNCHARTED WATERS COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm and distress edges. Take some DINA WAKLEY WHITE GESSO 4OZ and mix with some KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – BROWN 50ML, then paint waves using a wide paint brush where you plan to add your photo.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 3
  3. Paint some water diluted KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML using a paint brush onto the layout.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 4
  4. Add more KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – BROWN 50ML in the same way as the Navy mist. Once dry, use the CLEAR STAMPS – UNCHARTED WATERS COLLECTION with KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE to background stamp shells and use KAISERINK PAD – BLUE HAZE to stamp some anchors in the “misted” area.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 5
  5. Transfer the pattern of BUBBLES 6X6 DESIGNER STENCIL onto the layout using TEXTURE PASTE.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 6
  6. Take some hessian ribbon and the bottom strip from SHALLOWS – UNCHARTED WATERS COLLECTION and glue across the layout at ~7 cm from the bottom for the layout. Foam tape layered photo to the layout, over the ribbon.
Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 7
  7. Take some of the PAPER PAD – UNCHARTED WATERS off-cuts and make two bow bottomed banners, layer them in the top right corner with some hessian ribbon,  CHEESECLOTH GAUZE, and a pop-out embellishment from the  PAPER PAD – UNCHARTED WATERS. Add some more pop-out embellishments around the photo.Admiring the Sunset with Uncharted Waters 8
  8. Cover photo and splatter KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML and KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – BROWN 50ML. Embellish layout with COLLECTABLES – UNCHARTED WATERS COLLECTIONCHEESECLOTH GAUZE, and RHINESTONES – AQUA.

Beach Days are the Best Days with Uncharted Waters

Hello, Karen here with my last project using the lovely Uncharted Waters collection.  This time I have made a beach themed layout.

IMG_1435

I started by trimming .5 ins from the bottom and one side of  the Droplet paper and attached it to a piece of Dewdrop Kaisercard.  I then added some splatters of White Iridescent KaiserMist spray. I used the pennant stickers from the Sticker Book to make an arc at the top left of my page.  I used Sea Breeze pad and the seashell stamp from the clear stamps to create a border and fussy cut this out.  Next I cut along the waves on the Pelagic paper which I added to my page with the seashells added below lifted with some mounting foam dots.

IMG_1430

I added a ships wheel, from the Collectables pack, and a Curio to the top left corner. Then I cut a 6.5 x 4.5 piece of Sea Shore paper and stuck it to and a 7in x 5in piece of Swallows paper. These were then tucked, centrally, under the stamped seashells. I used Decorative Dies – Texture Criss Cross and Double Bubble to cut some pieces, to tuck under my photo mount, from the Frost Foil Paper Pad.  At the top of my photo mount I stuck some tabs from the Sticker Book and 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  I also cut some little crabs from a sheet from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and a large crab sticker from the Sticker Book tucked under the stamped seashells.  I then added some Collectables to the bottom right and top left of my photo mount.

IMG_1432

I finished off with a sticker from the Sticker Book and some Aqua Rhinestones.

This is such a super range for your summer photos and perfect for beach ones.

Seaside Adventures with Uncharted Waters

Hello, Karen here with the first of my projects using Uncharted Waters. It seems strange working with seaside photos when its cold and frosty outside!  For my first project I decided to use an embroidery hoop as a frame for my home decore – I have seen several of these used in this way recently, and was itching to have a go.

IMG_1351 I cut a circle from Pelagic which was .5 inch larger than my inside hoop. To this I added a torn piece of Seashore to the bottom, I though this would look like sand.   Than I snipped all around the edge of the circle and secured it into my hoop.

I used White Iridescent Kaisermist to add splatters all over the papers.

IMG_1309

I placed a frame, from the collectables pack, to the top left of my photo and  a ‘Wild and Free’ sticker from the Sticker Book.

I then used phrases from the collectables pack and the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad to create a cluster at the top left of my photo, finishing the cluster with a curio.

IMG_1353

On the top left of my frame I used starfish and shells from the collectables pack and the Sticker Book.  I used a die, from my own stash, to cut some ‘seaweed’ from a page out of the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

IMG_1352

At the bottom of my frame I used collectables and wooden fluorishes, which were raised on foam pads, together with two more pieces of seaweed.

IMG_1354

Finally I used a phrase from the Shallows paper for my title.

IMG_1356

I really enjoyed making this project and can’t wait to show you what I have made for my second project this month.

Until than I hope you can find some crafty time and I hope I have inspired you to try something different with the Uncharted Waters collection.

Living a Creative Life

Hello Everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout that I have created using Kaisercraft’s CRAFTERNOON Collection. I was excited to use this collection! I think it is very versatile and it just perfect to capture and record those creative memories, especially for those photos that are a little more difficult to use with “just any collection”. For this layout I have decided to focus on the greens in this collection which coordinate with the green that I have highlighted in my black and white photo. I really wanted to use this collection to scrapbook this photo of my best friend because she opened my eyes to the world of scrapbooking, before I was only a card maker! I was able to easily use the doily patterns, a lace side punch and paper blooms to make this layout quite elegant to match the photo. This highlights the versatility of this collection.

20191104_183746

To create this layout I followed the steps below:

  1. Trim CUT AND PASTE – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm. Using TEXTURE PASTE transfer the pattern from QUILTED 6X6 DESIGNER STENCIL 1.5 cm from the left-hand side and 4 cm from the right-hand side.
    20191104_182753
  2. Cut the top of EMBROIDERY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION at 15 x 30.5 cm and punch both long sides with a decorative punch or border die cut. Stitch from the top to the bottom at ~ 0.5 cm from the punched pattern, on both sides, and one line down the centre in a dark green thread.
    20191104_183100
  3. Cut a strip of KAISERCARD ANCHOR WEAVE CARDSTOCK 19 x 30.5 cm and another two 3 cm x 30.5, punch the two long sides of the large piece and one side of the thinner pieces with a decorative punch or border die cut. Attach this strip ~4 cm from the left-hand side of the layout.
  4. Cut the the grey, white and green rulers from MEASURED – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION, and the bottom strips from BACK STITCH – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION and DIY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION20191104_183024
  5. Ink all strips with KAISERINK PAD – SMOKE and an ink blending tool. Layer the strips onto the largest piece of Anchor Cardstock and foam tape ~4.5 cm from the left-hand side of the Cut and Paste background. 20191104_182836
  6. Fussy cut the light green and dark green doilies from CROCHET – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION and from the PAPER PAD – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION. Ink all strips with KAISERINK PAD – SMOKE and an ink blending tool. Layer the doilies in the top left and bottom right corners of the layout.20191104_183256
  7. Take a photo (8.6 x 12.6 cm) and frame with a piece of KAISERCARD ANCHOR WEAVE CARDSTOCK (10.6 x 14.6 cm). Attach framed photo to the middle of the layered section and embellish with more doilies and COLLECTABLES – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION.20191104_183446
  8. Further embellish with CURIOS – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTIONMINI PAPER BLOOMS – SEA BREEZEPAPER BLOOMS – COCONUTRHINESTONES – ISLAND LAGOON and splatters of KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – BLACK 50ML.

Creative Happiness

Hello Everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout that I have created using Kaisercraft’s CRAFTERNOON Collection. I was excited to use this collection! I think it is very versatile and it just perfect to capture and record those creative memories, especially for those photos that are a little more difficult to use with “just any collection”. The photo I have used in this layout is the perfect example, it shows a gorgeous creative moment between an cheeky uncle and his sweet niece. I was able to easily use a more mixed media style for this photo which also complements the busy patterned background paper. The CRAFTERNOON Collection incorporates a great mix of colours, again making it very versatile, and for this layout I have chosen to focus mainly on a peachy orange colour and black to perfectly contrast it.

20191027_173158

To create this layout I have followed the instructions below:

  1. Cut DECOUPAGE – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 27 x 27 cm. Randomly stamp CLEAR TEXTURE STAMP – GRID in KAISERINK PAD – LICORICE to the middle of the background. Using KAISERCOLOUR PAINT – BLACK 75ML and a wide paint brush randomly paint the middle of the background leaving some of the stamping visible. Distress the edges of the paper using a PAPER DISTRESSER.    20191027_173921
  2. Cut KAISERCARD INK WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 30.5 x 30.5 cm. Stitch a frame in peach coloured thread at ~1.5 cm in from the edge. Colour some TEXTURE PASTE with KAISERCOLOUR PAINT – ORANGE 75ML and transfer through a “Paint Splatter” Stencil (or any of your choice) onto the middle of your layout. Use MOUNTING FOAM TAPE to attach the main background of your layout onto the Ink Cardstock.20191027_173825
  3. Take a 10 x 14 cm photo and frame with 11.5 x 15.5 cm piece of KAISERCARD INK WEAVE CARDSTOCK. Distress the edges of the paper using a PAPER DISTRESSER. Stitch the frame in peach coloured thread on the edge of the photo. Foam tape photo to the centre of the layout. Embellish the top-right and bottom-left corners of the photo with peach/orange coloured doilies from PAPER PAD – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION and CROCHET – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION. Embellish further with COLLECTABLES – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTIONCURIOS – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION and peach coloured twine. Take the bottom strip from EMBROIDERY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION, trim to 27 cm and distress the edges of the paper using a PAPER DISTRESSER. Attach this strip to a strip of KAISERCARD INK WEAVE CARDSTOCK with dimensions of 1.3 x 27 cm, that has been distressed. Foam tape these combined strips to a peach colour ruler from MEASURED – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION which has been trimmed to 27 cm and distressed. Attach this combined strip ~0.5 cm from the bottom of the coloured background.  20191027_173710
  4. Embellish the layout with RHINESTONES – BLACK and add some light splattering of KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – BLACK 50ML to the layout.

I think it is very versatile and it just perfect to capture and record those creative memories, especially for those photos that are a little more difficult to use with “just any collection”. This collection also incorporates a great mix of colours and for this layout I have chosen to focus mainly on the blues and yellows, to help highlight the yellow and blue tones in my photo. This photo is from a recent trip to Paris, I love how the Eiffel Tower sits perfectly on the skyline as though it was drawn there. This shows how the CRAFTERNOON Collection is so versatile that you can even scrapbook travel photos with it!

20191027_183813To create this layout I have followed the instructions below:

  1. Cut DIY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 15.2 x 30.5 cm. Spray one side and partly into the middle of the other side with KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML. Stitch in yellow thread. Cut KAISERCARD LEMONADE WEAVE CARDSTOCK at ~17.5 x 30.5 cm, using a side punch on the longer sides to give a decorative edge and ink edges using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – AMBER. Attach DIY paper to the Lemonade Cardstock, foam tape this combination to the Splash Cardstock. 20191023_220246
  3. Trim CRAFTY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm and ink edges with using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – AMBER. Attach previously prepared and layered section and attache to the middle of the Crafty paper. Under the Tree with Peppermint Kisses

Hello Kaisercraft fans,

Emmy here today sharing another layout I’ve created using the most adorable Christmas collection – Peppermint Kisses – from Kaisercraft’s September release (available at Merly Impressions’ online store). MI-under-the-tree-web530For my background I used two 12″ pattern papers – Combi Christmas and Holly Jolly. I cut 15 x 30.5 cm panels from both pattern papers and adhered them on top of Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock. To hide the “stitch” between the pattern papers, I used the cut-off stirpe from Santa and Co pattern paper.

For the sarklong red stars I used glitter paste and Scattered Stars 6×6 Designer Stencil. Once  the glitter paste has dried, I sprayed some KaiserMist Spray Ink – White on top. MI-under-the-tree-det-a530 MI-under-the-tree-det-b

To decorate my picture I used a lot of different embellishments. I added pre-cut shapes from the Collectables pack and the Paper PadMI-under-the-tree-det-c MI-under-the-tree-det-d

… fussy cut images from Santa and Co pattern paper and stickers from the Sticker BookMI-under-the-tree-det-e MI-under-the-tree-det-f

I used Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and Decorative Die – Texture Burlap to lighten the background behind the large Christmas tree and the Nutcracker (Santa and Co pattern paper). Then I added a smaller Christmas tree from the Flourish Pack matching the collection. MI-under-the-tree-det-gThe cute little Christmas bell button comes from the Curios pack and I added also extra rhinestones to decorate my embellishments (Rhinestones – Island LagoonRhinestones – Deep Yellow and Rhinestones – Red). MI-under-the-tree-det-h MI-under-the-tree-det-i

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a wonderful creative week!
