Uniquely Creative – Tropical Dreams

Hi Everyone,

Here is a layout I’ve created using the gorgeous Tropical Dreams collection from Uniquely Creative. This is a new company we are now stocking, I just love their beautiful scrapbooking collections and coordinating products.

I have created this layout using a few papers from the collection, I would advise purchasing the paper pack as you get two of each paper and you will need a couple of extra sheets of some and I also have another layout on the go using this collection.

Below are some brief instructions on how to re-create my layout.

Products used: Uniquely Creative, Tropical Dreams: Sunset UCP2022 x 2|Under The Sea UCP2023 x 2|Paradise UCP2021|Pearls Iridescent UCE1728|Bubbles Texture Die UCD1896|White Smooth Cardstock CD650 x 3|White DMC Cotton

I have used the Tropical Dreams Paper Pack

1.) Cut in half (horizontal) the two Sunset papers, I have then used the two top sections from both papers, put together to form my base as I wanted the top and bottom of my base paper to be pale.

2.) – Cut the white card down to 29.5cm x29.5cm, mat this onto your base.

3.) – Do the same as in step 1.) with the two Under The Sea papers, as I just wanted the pale pink script showing, it doesn’t matter if one half of the script is up side down, this section should then measure 28.5cm x 28.5cm. Sew around the edge with white cotton, mat onto your layout.

4.) – Cut a circle from another sheet of white card, sew using white cotton, mat onto your layout.

5.) – Use the Bubbles Die, cut about 4 from a white piece of card.

6.) – Fussy cut lots of flowers from the Paradise papers.

7.) – Mat your photo onto your layout, arrange the flowers and bubbles die-cuts around the white frame and your photo. Add in the left over little circles from the die-cut around your photo.

Back in stock is the Wise & Free collection, below are two layouts I’ve created using the Paper Pack & on the second one, I’ve used the Arty doodles stamp set.

I have also used the gorgeous Doily Elements Metal Die, which is now in stock.

You can find more of my projects and sneak peeks of new collections and products over on my Instagram page – The Fussy Cutter. Please credit me when posting any of my creations on social media, thank you.

Happy Scrapping!!!!!!!

January 18th 2020 – Merly Crop Layouts & kit Sneak Peeks

Hi Everyone,

With just under a week to go until our first crop of 2020, here are the details of the crop and sneak peeks and details of the layouts that you will be able to create using the kit. For the kit I have used the lovely Everlasting Kaisercraft collection.

For the kit you will get the Everlasting Paper Pack which includes 12 sheets of paper and a sticker sheet, you will also receive 2 skeins of DMC thread, an extra sheet of paper and some Kaisercard……and the usual detailed instructions with coloured photo’s for you to follow, so you can create the two layouts that I have designed, at your own pace. There is a third bonus layout which you can create if you like from the leftovers. Bring your phone to take a photo of it at the crop (as there are no instructions) there will also be a full image of it on the website and on the blog after the crop.

Below are some sneak peeks & details of the first layout which I’ve called All of me loves all of you

This layout features the pastel greens & peaches from the collection – I have fussy cut the gorgeous white flowers, there are also lots of layers and colour coordinating stitching. I have added a few rhinestones from my own stash. The photo measures about 9cm wide x about 11cm high.

Below are some sneak peeks of the second layout which I’ve called Best Moments”

For this layout I’ve focussed on using the kraft & cream coloured papers from the collection, with a pop of black and pink. The layout features lots of fussy cut leaves, birds and flowers, hand stitching – all this layered around the fussy cut lacy borders. My photo measures about 12cm x 12cm. I have also added “lippy red” rhinestones (from my own stash, but you will be available to purchase these at the crop you want)

Here are the sneak peeks of the extra third layout, if you would like to create it from the leftovers.

The layout features fussy cut pale pink flowers, I’ve used one full piece of paper and the leftovers. There won’t be instructions, so bring your phone to take a pic – however there will also be a full image on the blog & website. My gorgeous photo measures 10cm wide x 13cm high!!! If you want to do the punching please bring your own punch.

Other items used which you may want to bring are a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) foam pads and a small pair of scissors as there is a lot of fussy cutting on all the layouts. We will however have a selection of Foam dots/roll, available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

I have used the WRMK Sew Easy Tool, we will however bring this item to the crop for people to use. Please note: If you want to do the punching on the extra layout, please bring your own punch, my MS punches won’t be available to use at the crop anymore. Similar punches will also work. I have used the MS Garden Trellis Deep Edge punch.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page. We also have a crop/retreat facebook page, where you can see more sneak peeks of these layouts – and details of up and coming events and where you can also post your finished layouts.

At the crop we will also have our usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies, including the new December & January Kaisercraft collections and the three brand New ScrapBoys collections

Extra kits will also be available to purchase at the crop. Just ask Paul for them. The usual supply of tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits, chocolates, snacks & homemade cakes will be available throughout the day. You will need to bring your own lunch and your usual supply of crafting tools.

See you all on Saturday 18th January 2020!!! at 10am (not before, unless you have been asked to help, as we will be very, very busy getting ready, please wait outside if you do turn up early) – until 4pm.  The cost for the day & kit is £30.00 payable on the day, we take cash and/or cards.

For anyone who can not attend the crop, the kit will be available to purchase the day after the crop over on the website. The cost for this kit is £17.00

See you all on Saturday 10am.

Happy scrapping, hugs,

Let’s Celebrate with Party Time

Hello everyone,

Denise here with my first project using the lovely new Kaisercraft collection Party Time.

photo-02-12-2016-09-16-26It’s a gorgeous  vibrant colourful collection that is perfect for your celebration layouts.

I decided to make a layout with lots of different papers layered, using photos from my first hen night I went to last year for my now daughter in law.

I started off using Double Scoop paper as the base for the layout. I then used the Sew Easy Tool to make a wavy line at each side on the Fairy Bread paper.photo-13-11-2016-12-24-22photo-13-11-2016-12-24-14These are great for adding extra detail to your layouts.

Next I took Confetti and,100s and 1000s papers, cut them into rectangles and strips and laid them out and weaved some of them on the base to use as bases for my photos.

I matted my three photos onto the papers and placed them diagonally across the page.

Next, I used some elements from the sticker sheet to embellish the page.

sticker-sheet-party-time-collectionI used two hearts and some wording mounted on to foam tape from the sticker sheet.

I also used some twisted colour twine which was adhered across some bunting from the sticker sheet along the bottom of one of the photographs.

photo-02-12-2016-09-38-40I hope you have enjoyed this layout. It was fun to put together and shows how you can make a layout with some great papers, stickers, scissors, glue and some foam pads, with a little bit of sewing on the sides ! Please do pop back for some more inspiration from the team soon.

Boho Chic – Boho Dreams

Hi Everyone,

hope you are all well

The Merly Impressions retreat was last weekend, what a fabulous time we had – Thanks to Chrissy, Paul, Merley and Aman for all their hardwork!

For July I have the pleasure of working with BOHO Dreams collection from Kaisercraft and my first project was to make two cards.

40 DPI 3Both are 7×7″ square and were made as follows:

40DPIThe paper pad collection is perfect for card making and I love having a small white frame when using cards slightly larger. My base is Wanderer which I have left whole and inked the edges with Dried Marigold and a blending tool – don’t you just love these!

DPI 40 5Next came a circle @ 4 1/4″ cut from the reverse of Wanderer – the great thing about the paper pad is the are not double sided so you have more of each design.

Next the Collectables which have these lovely girlie images, she has been raised on mounting foam tape, then the frame over the top with a double layer of foam tape.

40 DPI 4I then added lots of feathers from The Collectables plus a spray of flowers and a message. They have been raised with various layers of foam tape to create a lot of dimension. Finally some stickles – we all need a little sparkle in our lives!

40 DPI 2Card two was created using Free as the background, with the woodgrain of Bohemian paper cut to 1″ strips and added around the edge to create a frame raised on foam tape. Pieces of Daydreamer and Free were cut to 3 x 3 1/2″ and placed inside at angles, topped with another lady from the Collectables and a raised frame.

dpi 40 7The other elements are also from the Collectables and have been layered with foam tape again at variable levels for definition.

dpi 40 6Thank-you for taking the time to read this post, please check back again soon for more projects from the DT.

Until then, take care,

~ Linda ~
