Love Your Smile with Primavera

Hello, Karen here with my fourth page using Primavera by Scrapboys. I had some scraps left over from my other three pages which were too gorgeous to be left in my scraps box so I decided to see what I could make.

I started with a piece of Bloom Kaisercraft weave cardstock and then added a piece of Snow weave cardstock, which I had cut .5 in from the bottom and one side.

From a piece of Kaisercraft Smooth White cardstock I cut a 5.5 square and a using Smoke Kaiserink pad and a Text Backgound Stamp I stamped randomly over the card – I didn’t put the stamp onto an acrylic block but held it and gently rolled it over the card.

and a Text Backgound Stamp I stamped randomly over the card – I didn’t put the stamp onto an acrylic block but held it and gently rolled it over the card.

I cut two pieces of Paper 01 to 11ins x 1.5ins and two pieces 5.5 ins x 1.5 ins and punched one edge with a border punch. A piece of Paper 06 was trimmed to 12 ins x 8 and added to the centre of my cardstock. I tucked the two longest pieces of punched paper under each side. Next I added two frames cut from Paper 06 to the top right and bottom left of my page. Onto this I placed a piece of Paper 02, which I had gutted from the frame used on a previous page – this measured 7ins square, I gutted a 4.5 in square from the centre of this. .My stamped square was placed on the centre of this with the two smaller pieces of punched paper at the top and bottom. Finally I stuck a strip of Paper 05 measuring 2ins x 8ins over the centre of this stack with a final piece of Paper 02, gutted from the 8 in square in the centre as my photo mount.

To finish my page I used I added a die cut title, some Champagne Pearls and some Little Birdie flowers.

I hope I have inspired you to try this gorgeous paper range and look forward to showing you what I make next month.

Two Mint Wishes Christmas Cards

Good Morning all

Elaine here again, this time bringing you two card made using the scrumptious Mint Wishes Collection.

image

The first card I am bringing you is an easel card, now I’m not saying you should make lots of these cards as that would be way too time consuming, but making them for the special people in your life would certainly put a smile on their faces I’m sure.

image

To make the card I followed a You Tube tutorial and there are lots on easel cards to choose from, so… once I had the base made ( I used a smooth piece of white cardstock) I took a 12″ sheet of Forest Paper as the background of the front piece. I have made my card at 7″ x 6″, however, this paper also features in the 6.5″ paper pad too so you could make the card slightly smaller to accommodate that size paper instead.

I then covered the base of the card with a piece of Shiver Paper and then mounted a piece of the reverse of the same Shiver Paper on silver Mirror card and mounted it using Mounting Foam Tape to create the ‘stop’ on the easel card. I inked all of these paper pieces with the Island Ink Pad.  I then die cut some silver flowers using a die from my stash but I think these individual snowflake dies would work just as well.

image

I then created a floral cluster using a large Poinsettia using this Decorative Die, centred with a Sea Breeze Sparklet, that I mounted on an inked frame that I got in a Little Birdie collection previously. I then used several die cuts from the collectables pack, some silver mirror card flourishes (cut using my own die), some cheesecloth gauze, and two flowers from the Little Birdie Chrissy blooms.

image

As a final flourish I splattered watered down white acrylic paint over the cluster and added small white pearls as a flower centre and on the frame and bottom left corner.

image

I do hope you’ll give this a try!

For my next card I took a 6″ square white card base and added a piece of silver mirror card slightly smaller to the front. I then distressed a 5.5″ square piece of the reverse of the Logs Paper and sponged it using the Baubles Mini Designer stencil and a black ink pad.

image

I then used my Sew Easy Stitch Piercer to make holes to sew using White embroidery thread. I used double sided tape to stick this to the mirror card and added a piece of cheesecloth as a base for my Christmas cluster.

image

I added a Kaisercraft Rhinestone flourish, two die cut flowers and leaves from the Mint Wishes collectables Pack that I then centred with Silver Glass Glitter. I added a couple of flowers from my stash too, (also with glass glitter added to the centres), and a die cut flourish cut from silver mirror card using my own die. To finish I used a little more wet glue and sprinkled extra glass glitter to the cheesecloth base with some tiny polystyrene balls to represent snow together with a doily die cut and a saying also from the collectables pack.

So, I hope you like my two cards for those special people in your life and that my tips will give you some ideas to create your own. Do let us know if you do, won’t you?

‘M for Merly’ Beyond the Page Initial

Good morning all,

Elaine here again bringing you an altered initial for a beyond the page project.

image

Firstly I took the letter (which I purchased from a well known High Street chain of craft shops) and covered it in White Gesso  (don’t worry if it bubble like mine did. It will pull back tight once it’s dry)

image

Next I took a sheet of Jade paper and the Echo Paper from the Lilac Whisper collection and adhered them using PVA glue to the initial.

image

Once dried I used a sanding block to smooth off the edges and then I used texture paste with the Damask Quarters stencil on the front side of the letter.

I then added some torn corrugated card and two stamped and fussy cut doilies from the Doily Texture stamp and some cheesecloth and sprayed it with Wisteria Kaisermist. (At this point I was a little worried it was too dark..but don’t worry..it comes good in the next stage!)

image

I then used fussy cut flowers from the Hydrangea sheet and layered them using Foam Mounting tape. I also added inked wooden flourishes from the Garden PackSea Breeze Sparklets, butterflies from the collectables pack, Sea Breeze Blooms and Little Birdie Water Colour flowers.

image

To finish I added sprinkles of watered down white acrylic paint to the whole thing..see what a difference it makes?

image

I am loving this pretty new collection and I hope you will too! See you in the shop!

Here’s how it ended up once I’d added a title (which I took from one of the Lilac Whipers sheets).
