Enjoy the Journey

Hope you are enjoying the summer weather! Today I would like to share a quick and simple but effective layout that I created using the Journey Collection- Kaisercraft. I have focused on the brown colours of this collection for this layout.

To begin, I have cut a piece of KAISERCARD WHITE PREMIUM CARDSTOCK to 30 cm x 30 cm. Next I used a the DIAMONDS MINI DESIGNER STENCIL, KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE and ink blending tool to create the brown pattern on the white background.

Next I took the CLEAR STAMP – SCRIPT BACKGROUND, an ACRYLIC STAMPING BLOCK and KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE to stamp on the edges of the brown inking.

Time to add some photos! I took the brown and white foil sheet from the PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION and cut it down to 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm. I attached this to the centre of my layout. I took the left overs from this sheet and framed my two 5.2 cm x 5.2 cm photos. I had already framed these photo with KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK which was cut at 5.6 cm x 5.6 cm. I attached these two small photos to the opposite corners.20190630_112201

 

Next was to add more photos. I took two photos 6.8 cm x 6.8 cm and framed with 7.2 cm x 7.2 cm  KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK  and a second frame at 8.2 cm x 8.2 cm of the suitcase paper from the PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION was also used. These two photos were attached diagonally inside, but overlapping, the two smaller photos. Finally the large photo (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm) was framed with 10.6 cm x 10.6 cm  KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK and foam taped to the center of the layout.20190630_120853

 

The last step is the fun step! I have embellished with the brown pop out pieces from the  PAPER PAD – JOURNEY COLLECTION, the quote “Live your life by a compass not a clock’ from MEANDERER – JOURNEY COLLECTION, FLOURISH PACK – FLY AWAY, CHEESECLOTH GAUZE and RHINESTONES – SILVER.

Beautiful with Misty Mountains

Karen here with second of my April pages using  Misty Mountains Kaisercraft collection .  I can’t get enough of this range as each and every sheet is so pretty.

BeautifulFor this page I featured the Damask Mini Stencil, Paint Strokes Stamp, Orchid Ink Pad and Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.

I cut ½ in from the top and one side of the Marbled paper.  I then used the Damask Mini Stencil and Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste in four areas of the paper.  Once this was dried I gave it a light coat of Gesso and wiped over the areas with the texture paste with a baby wipe to reveal the colour of the paper below.  As I thought this worked in the same way as transparent embossing powder but with less faff!

Detail 1Once the Gesso had dried I stamped with the Paint Strokes Stamp and  Orchid Ink Pad across the texture paste areas but in the opposite direction.  I also ‘dabbed’ the ink pad through the stencil in areas.

Detail 2I cut a 5¾ x 7¾ rectangle from a piece of Lilac Weave Cardstock  and adhered the Marbled paper to the centre of the remaining piece.

Detail 4Cut branding strips from two of your papers and the Devine paper to add around the outside of your page.

To complete my page I added two pieces of paper from the Misty Mountain Paper Pad , stuck together and trimmed to 6½ x 5¼, to the piece of Lilac card from  above and then my photo was added to this.  I also cut some of the phrases from the Misty Mountain Paper Pad to add, with some phrases and the word ‘beautiful from the Collectables pack, at the top right and bottom left of my page.

Mint Wishes LO & Die Cut Gingerbread Cookie paper

Good morning all

Thanks for joining us again today to see what we’ve all been creating using the fabulous collections released last month. To give you some ongoing inspiration on how to use your fab new collections, the design team have been working hard on creating some extra special projects to inspire you. I do hope you will glean some ideas from them!

So..that said, here is my first offering using the wonderful Gingerbread Cookie die cut paper from the Mint Wishes Kaisercraft collection.

To make my layout I first took the Fresh PIne paper and gutted it to make a frame for the paper. I then mounted the die cut paper to it. Next I took the Baubles mini designer stencil and used Transparent Matte texture paste with it to create a patterned background behind where I knew I was going to mount the photo cluster. Once it was dried I used a Kaisergel pen to trace the outline to make it pop.

I then took pieces of the Shiver paper and some collectables to create long pennants behind the photo that I had mounted on Kraft Cardstock and a piece of the Forest Paper too. I mounted this on foam mounting tape and then added two die cut baubles from the collectables pack on foam mounting tape too. On the first one I added a pearl string from my stash and in the second one I coloured in my dotted line to create a string using the Kaisergel Pens.

Next I took a Kaisercraft star, similar to this one, from my stash and heat embossed it after first inking it with the Island ink pad.

Finally I tucked a few collectables around the photo cluster and on the layout and I used Joy as the title too. The photo is of my grand-daughter opening her advent calender for the first time..and I think her face has ‘Joy’ written all over it don’t you? I also used the saying from the Sticker Sheet.
