Today and Everyday using Gums and Roses

Hi Everyone,
Today I would like to share with you a quick and easy multi photo layout using the Gums and Roses Collection. I wanted to challenge myself to use more than two photos on a layout this month, so I have created this layout to achieve that goal. I have also made my own flowers for this first time that are featured on this layout. I love the 3D effect that these flowers have.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  • Find the centre of the layout and make a cross
  • Adhere two landscape and portrait photos (all 11 x 10.2 cm) alternating to the centre
  • Fussy cut the “today and every day” element from Everyday Moments and foam tape to the centre of the layout
  • Fussy cut some of the small flower clusters from Fussy Cuts Eucalypt Posey and layer under the “today and every day” element
  • Glue Pink Flowers to the flower cluster in each corner

I hope I have inspired you to create a beautiful multi photo layout with the Gums and Roses Collection today.

Fancy Card and Box Set using Gums and Roses

Hi everyone,
I have a special project to share with you today! It is a set of 8 cards and a box to store them in too. I have used the stunning Gums and Roses Collection by Uniquely Creative. I just love all the beautiful flowers and gorgeous Australian wildlife to fussy cut in this collection. I thoroughly used just had to use it for this slightly larger project.

To create the cards in this project I have followed the steps below:

  • Ink the edges of each card and each cut piece with Pink Petal Ink.
Adhere one larger cut piece to each prepared card. Foam tape the smaller pieces onto the front of the cards, slightly left of centre.
  • Glue a piece of CHEESECLOTH GAUZE to the front of each card.

To create the box in this project I have followed the steps below:

  • Take an old card board box, I have used one with dimensions 14 x 19 x 6 cm.
  • Cut FULL BLOOM to two 13.5 x 18.5 cm, two 5.5 x 13.5 cm and two 5.5 x 18.5 cm pieces. Cut KAISERCARD TUTU WEAVE CARDSTOCK to the same dimensions as FULL BLOOM. Adhere cut pieces on the inside and outside of the box as desired.
  • Using the same techniques described above, stamp the top of the box and then apply texture paste. Adhere a strip of lace along the top of the box and a strip from EVERYDAY MOMENTS on the bottom.
  • Build a cluster in the centre of the top of the box and the inside of the lid, with fussy cut elements, CREATIVE CUTS and cheesecloth gauze.

If you would like to see the video tutorial I have made for these fancy cards please click here, and for the box please click here.

Best Friends with ScrapBoys Butterfly Meadow

Hello, it’s Karen here with my final page using the beautiful Butterfly Meadow by ScrapBoys. These papers are ideal if you are a fan of fussy cutting as they provide unlimited opportunities for getting out your scissors or craft knife.

For this layout I started by gutting a 1 inch frame from Paper 06, I trimmed a piece of Coal Kaiserweave Card to 11.25 square and stuck it to the frame, smooth side showing

From the remaining piece of Paper 06, I cut a piece 9in x 4.5 ins and fussy cut around the right side.

I also cut a piece 4 x 3, fussy cutting the left side.  Finally, from the remaining piece of
Paper 06, I cut a 3 ins x 6ins and fussy cut around the right side

I added the 9 x 4 piece to the left of my page and the 4 x 3 piece to the right.  I tucked the 3 x 6 ins piece under the piece on the left of my page.

04used a piece of Paper04 to mount my 4 in square photo and also to back my title which I made using Ebony Alpha Stickers.

My photo  was added to the bottom right of my page with the title at the top right.

I fussy cut a selection of butterflies from Paper 07 and added them to the clusters of flowers on either side.

I cut the words ‘Happy Memories’ from the branding strip of Paper 06

As a final flourish – I added some Coral Paper Blooms and Orange Rhinestones.

I hope I have inspired you to make something beautiful using ScrapBoys
Butterfly Meadow .

Baby Photo Album with Fairy Land

Hi everyone,
Today I would like to share the biggest project that I have created since joining the Merly Impressions Design Team! It is this beautiful album that I have decorated with the gorgeous Fairy Land Collection by ScrapBoys and I have used every single page of this collection for this project. Many of you may recognise this album as it is from the 2017 Merly Impressions Retreat! I know many of you will probably still have them to be used. So here is some inspiration for what you can do with them (3 years later!). I created this album as a gift for an unborn baby so I couldn’t add the photo’s yet but I know the parents like to take many photo’s so I know it is the perfect gift that will be filled up quickly!

To begin with I decorated the outside because I found doing so many pages at once was too over whelming! So I started by preparing a front, back and side strip with KAISERCARD ORCHID WEAVE CARDSTOCK. Under this layer I glued (and taped) three ribbons with different thicknesses so the album could be tied closed. Then a second layer of patterned paper where the front and back were from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 03 and the side strip I made from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 01.

After this step, the back was complete so I focused next on the side where I took a wooden letter E, painted it purple and covered the top surface in DISTRESS STICKLES – DUSTY CONCORD. Once the letter was dry I glued it to the side of the album and left it dry.

To decorate the front, I cut a photo matt from white cardboard and stamped the Toadstools from CLEAR STAMPS – ENCHANTED COLLECTION in Perfect Medium and applied the white Perfect Pearls. I have also included a SCRAPFX CHIPBOARD fairy that I painted in DISTRESS STICKLES – DUSTY CONCORD and DISTRESS STICKLES – BUNDLED SAGE. Next I fussy cut the elements from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 01, FAIRY LAND – PAPER 04 and FAIRY LAND – PAPER 07, and added them to the front and side, along with RHINESTONES – SILVER and WHITE ZIG WINK OF STELLA BRUSH MARKER. Lastly, I added some DISTRESS STICKLES – BUNDLED SAGE grass along the bottom of the front and added the name from painted wooden letters from in my craft stash.

Next I moved into the inside covers where I made pockets to store tags with photo’s and notes. I have gone for the animal pairs from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 07 as features for these pockets and more Perfect Pearl toadstools.

Next I moved on to doing the pages of the book, for those that haven’t seen this album before it comes with already made pages so I have just gone ahead and decorated them with the same Fairy Land theme from as the covers.

For the first page I focused on a purple theme with FAIRY LAND – PAPER 01, as the main background and have included a panel for a 7.5 x 5 cm (small) photo. I have embellished the page with some CHEESECLOTH GAUZE and a painted Uniquely Creative laser cut word.

For the second set of pages I have gone for a green theme, using KAISERCARD DEW DROP WEAVE CARDSTOCK and FAIRY LAND – PAPER 01 with one small photo square and two tags. On the tags I have used an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – SPEARMINT through the STARS MINI DESIGNER STENCIL.

For the next set of pages I have selected purple as the main colour focussing on FAIRY LAND – PAPER 02 and FAIRY LAND – PAPER 06 with one small photo on the right page and a series of manual flip photos on the left hand side. The Flip photo section can hold up to 5 large portrait photos (just smaller than 10.2 x 15.4 cm) is tied down with a green bow on each side.

I have created this set of paged with contrasting colours compared to the rest of the album using KAISERCARD OATMEAL WEAVE CARDSTOCK and KAISERCARD MAROON PREMIUM CARDSTOCK. I was inspired by another project I created with this collection which focuses on the flowers from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 04. I just couldn’t help but bring it in here too. There is space for one 4 x 6 cm photo on each page.

For the last set of double pages I have gone back to the main purple theme but have included a fancy mechanism mini flip album the right page which is better viewed in a video that I will shared on my Roxii’s Craft Studio Instagram and Facebook accounts. The page on the left has a simple pocked with punched edges and two removable tags. The main paper inspiring this set of pages was FAIRY LAND – PAPER 05.

Lastly, I created the final page to match the first single page of the album with FAIRY LAND – PAPER 01 as the main background. I have used the MINI BACKGROUND STAMP – TEXT and MINI INK PAD – ORCHID to create the stamped background for these pages.

There is also a secret pocket space on the edge of each page for more tags which i have created from left over pieces of the album. I have also added some texture paste rhinestones, laser cut words into the album, as well as lots of Perfect Pearling, stencilling, stamping and edge inking too.

I hope I have inspired you to have a play with this gorgeous collection or with your old retreat album!

Shaker Cards with Fairy Land

Hi everyone,
Today I would like to share a set of 3 shaker cards that I have created using the Fairy Land Collection by ScrapBoys. I have created these beautiful cards using the left overs from an album that I also created using this collection plus some glitter and an old Kaisercraft specialty sheet with 4 white frames.

To create these cards I started with three white 11 x 11 cm cards. Then I cut three squares of FAIRY LAND – PAPER 05 with dimensions 10.5 x 10.5 cm and inked the edges with KAISERINK PAD – BLUE HAZE before adhering the the cards.

Next, a cut 3 square frames (from 2 specialty sheets) and adhered some plastic sheet to the back of them and then I adhered thin strips of cardboard also on the back. Then I put about 1 teaspoon of TWINKLE MELANGE – JELLY BEAN, 15ML to the centre of the cards before adhering the frames over the glitter. Now the shaker part of the card was ready!

Lastly, I embellished with fussy cut elements from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 07, FAIRY LAND – PAPER 04, FAIRY LAND – PAPER 06 and FAIRY LAND – PAPER 05. I also added some RHINESTONES – SILVER and RHINESTONES – ICE BLUE.

I hope I have inspired you to have a play with this gorgeous collection.

Life is the Best Fairytale with Fairy Land

Hi everyone,
Today I would like to share with you a step by step process to how I have created this gorgeous layout using Fairy Land by ScrapBoys. I fell in love with flower sheet in this collection and decided to create a layout that incorporated all the colours of the flowers.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:
1. Trim KAISERCARD OATMEAL WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 29 x 29 cm and round the corners.
2. Using a deep ivory (for example: Ranger Distress Oxide- Antique Linen) stamp the keys from CLEAR STAMPS – ENCHANTED COLLECTION all over the cardstock to create the background.

3. Take KAISERCARD WHITE PREMIUM CARDSTOCK and cut into a heat shape (~24 wide and ~20 cm high).
4. Apply some Ranger Distress Oxide- Shaded Lilac onto an INKSSENTIALS CRAFT SHEET, spray some water onto the ink and apply onto the white heart. Use a heat gun to dry and reapply more ink until satisfied (see my previous post for a more detailed description).
5. Using Ranger Distress Oxide- Shaded Lilac and an ink blending tool through the STARS MINI DESIGNER STENCIL onto the purple heart.

6. Take KAISERCARD MAROON PREMIUM CARDSTOCK, trim to 12 x 12 inch and round the corners
7. Adhere the prepared Oatmeal cardstock to the Maroon cardstock and adhere the purple heart in the middle of the layout.

8. Take a 15.4 x 10.2 cm photo, round the corners and adhere to the centre of the heart.
9. Fussy cut flowers from FAIRY LAND – PAPER 04 and layer them around the central heart.
10. Stamp the sentiment from the CLEAR STAMPS – ENCHANTED COLLECTION onto a spare piece of white cardstock in Versa Fine-Black Ink, trim and frame with a piece of Maroon cardstock.

11. Apply liquid glue in the four corners of the layout, around the photo and in the corners of the sentiment.
12. Apply DAZZLE COCKTAIL – MANHATTAN, 15ML to the wet glue and allowed time to dry.
13. Adhere a set of fussy cut flowers to each golden corner.
14. Add WHITE ZIG WINK OF STELLA BRUSH MARKER to the white flowers and RHINESTONES – SILVER to their centres.

I hope I have inspired you to have a play with this gorgeous collection.
