Bombay Sunset Scrapbook Layout

Hi again,

Elaine here bringing you a layout using the beautifully colourful Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset collection.

imageTo make this layout I first used the Rosewood paper from the collection as the background. I then took the dotty stencil from the 12 x 12 Designer Stencil Mini Mix and used Ranger texture paste to create a spotty background.

I then took a sheet of the Bollywood paper and added Gesso to lighten it and again used the dotty stencil to add extra dimension to the paper. I then added Wisteria Kaisermist and left to dry.

imageNext I fussy cut the mandala from the bottom left of the Bollywood paper and put to one side and I used three different sized circles and punched out several from the altered Bollywood paper.

I then took a sheet of Coconut white Kaisercard and punched more circles from the card. I then used the Wisteria Kaisermist, Candy Kaisercraft and Pink Kaisermist to spray the circles.

imageNext I arranged all the circles from both the Bollywood paper and the Coconut card over the stencilled Rosewood paper using foam pads to create different levels and I used cheesecloth in amongst the circles.

imageI mounted the card on a remaining piece of Bollywood paper and also a second layer using the reverse of the same paper.

I then took the fussy cut mandala that I had cut earlier and added that beneath the photo.

Next I used two loops of Cherry Hemp Cord and added these beneath some of the collectables from the Bombay Sunset collectables pack and layered these over the circles I had placed earlier.  I used two of the collectables for the title.

I then took flowers from my stash and some Kaisercraft Aubergine blooms and added these to the clusters.

imageAs a final flourish I added Candy Epoxy Stickers and Sunshine Epoxy Stickers for extra interest.

I do hope you would like to give my mixed media piece a try too? It is such a pretty collection!

Scrapbook Layout using Pawfect collection

Hi Everyone

Elaine here bringing you another layout using the wonderful collection, Pawfect, which is oh so cute and just perfect for all your pet photos.

imageTo start I used the Duck Egg Weave Cardstock as my base adding the chevron Pawsome paper as a background and layering the plaid Puppy paper . I punched paw prints using a Fiskars punch on the top and bottom edges and then mixed some Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap distress ink into some texture paste to darken it slightly and used the Rough Grid Mini Stencil to create dimension and texture.

imageI then took another piece of the Pawsome Paper and matted it onto the same card and did the same with the Puppy Bone paper and layered them behind the photo along with two small, matted pieces of Pawsome text paper.

I then took the Pawfect sticker sheet and added the row of paw prints, the saying ‘All you need is love and a dog’, and all the dog themed ‘tickets’ and  added the matted photo on top. I then added the two curly stickers down either side.

imageOnce the the photo was in place I die cut arrows and hearts from the Burlap 6″ paper stack and several of the collectables pack to finish.

What a great collection for either dog or cat lovers. I hope this has inspired you to join in!

Have fun

Elaine

You will also need a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) and a small pair of scissors because there is a lot of fussy cutting on both of the layouts. We will however have a selection of ink pads & Foam dots/roll available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

march-kit-3I have also used the “Fishing Net” Kaisercraft Decorative Die & “Ornate Charm” Decorative Die (above) these will be available to use on the day for our croppers. However for anyone purchasing the kits on-line after the crop these will be pre-cut and will be included in the kit.

We will bring our usual supply of tools, including the Sew Easy Tools (which are also used on the layouts), Big Shot & Dies to the crop if people would like to use them to create their own title or cut out other embellishments.

For anyone who cannot join us on the day, the kit will be available to purchase online the day after the crop. It will contain detailed instructions for you to complete the double page layout.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page.

Challenge Inspiration from Sandra

Welcome dear readers!

Today I have prepared for you my challenge inspiration for our current ‘Journalling’ theme.

I had the amazing ‘Bow & Arrow’ Collection to work with!

P1000777

I have really enjoyed playing along with this theme and the Bow & Arrow collection is just perfect. This is the photo of my son playing in the sand on the beach for the first time. I said playing?  ehm I meant trying it! Little cheeky!

P1000779 P1000780Don’t forget you’ve got until 2nd of September to add your creation to the gallery under the  August Challenge post.

I hope you will join us. I cannot wait to see your creations!

Have a lovely day!

Make an old style photo album look new

Hey ho everyone!

Today I prepared for you a tutorial using Dream Big collection. Here is what it will look like in the end:

P1000618

 Let’s get started:

P1000599

You will need the new Dream Big collection, an old fashioned photo album (mine cost 50p), glue, scissors, Kaisercolour paints and Washi tape.

P1000600

We need to choose the paper to go on the front of our album – I’m going for Illusions.

P1000601

Now we need to glue the paper to the back page of our album (please try to remove the photo place inside so it’s easier for us to move about) and remember to bend the paper a bit so when it’s stuck together the book will still close properly.

P1000602

Cut another piece of the same paper and stick it on the front.

P1000603

We are going to use the extra paper on the sides to fold them inside and glue them or tape it.

P1000604

I used tape, as it was just easier ;d

P1000605

This is what our front should look like right now 😉

P1000606

and both sides.

P1000608

Let’s leave the front at the moment and work on the inside, I have chosen the Hope paper to go inside.

P1000609

Simply glue it, make sure you have cut the little line for your pockets for photos.

P1000610

That’s my inside with the pockets for photos.

P1000612

We are going back to the front page now – this is the layout we are going to use (using Dream Big Collectables).

P1000613

But before we glue them with 3D foam pads, we are going to use Kaisercolour paint (you can choose a different colour if you like).

P1000614Add a small amount of the paint.

P1000615

and few drops of black paint.

P1000616

Time to finish our cover – let’s add some 3D foam pads to all of our pieces.

P1000618All nice and settled.

P1000619

And a closer look.

P1000617

Two last pieces inside and we are done!

Have a good day my friends!

xoxo

Fun with paint

Hi everyone

Today I prepared for you a little ‘mess’ with paint…

DSC_1282

As you already know, I was working with the Mister Fox Collection!

DSC_1285

I have added a bit of ink paint around the circles to make them more visible!

DSC_1286

I’m totally in love with the Kaisercolour paints!

DSC_1287

You can mix them with gesso…

DSC_1288

…or water!  They will go with anything, however you want them!

Have a good day!

Project Life spread using ‘Say Cheese’ cards

Good Morning our Dear Readers!

Are you ready for my Project Life spread?

I have saved my week 13 for you, using beatiful ‘Say Cheese’ cards that match the Happy Snaps Collection!

I’m so sorry that you won’t be able to understand what I write in my pages (unless you know Polish) but I guess you can read the story from the photos 🙂

Here is my page 1 – yes, my little monster has given himself a big bruise! I can’t turn my back for 1 second as he goes everywhere! But he is all fine now 😉

DSC_1069

Here is page 2 – our trip down to the seaside, our little monster, and of course us as a family!

DSC_1072

I must say Project Life is sometimes a bit of a pain, but it’s great that pictures don’t get just stuck in the camera. I print them out every week and what a wonderful memory it will be in a future 😉

Have a good day!

Hugs xxx
