Always Believe

That something wonderful is about to happen ..

What a lovely sentiment that is.

Denise here with another post using the fabulous Lavinia stamps.

In my box this month was this gorgeous MDF Large Square Frame, some beautiful papers and of course a fairy.

I started by painting the frame with some Kaisercraft Dusty Pink paint.

I then covered it with Soft Whisper paper from the Enchanted Garden Collection.

It wouldn’t be me if there was no fussy cutting involved so I cut some flowers from the journaling cards that were on the reverse of the Soft whisper paper and used them in the corners of the frame. I decided I hadn’t done enough cutting so I cut some of the detail from the paper, layered them up on the frame and added some pink gems to the middles.

Next it was time to stamp my lovely fairy , Tree Goddess Luna.  First time and the image was perfect. I stamped her onto the other paper in my box which was Allure from the Enchanted Collection. I cut round her very carefully mounted her on some foam pads and placed her in the middle of the frame. I added a touch of pink glitter to her wings. Again I used some flowers from two of the journaling cards on the reverse. One of them had the sentiment ‘Always believe something wonderful is about to happen’. When I saw that I knew I had to use it as it will always inspire me.   I decided she needed some more flowers round her so some Fairy pods were stamped, layered and added too. I used some Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the edges of the elements I cut out.

Lastly I added the sentiment and there it is – a frame that will be right in front of me in my craft room with one of my favourite sayings and a fairy too !

Come back soon for projects from our design team.

You Are So Special with Secret Garden

Hello everybody!

Emmy here with my third and final project for July! Today I’ve got a special treat for you – I created a boyish layout with the most girly paper line from the newest Kaisercraft release – Secret Garden (available at the Merly Impressions online store).

So, here it is – Theo in blue and grey.MI-secreat-garden-boy-webTo create the background I used Kaisercard Elephant Ears Weave Cardstock and Roses pattern paper. I cut off 1 cm from each side of the pattern paper, ruffled its edges using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser. Then I adhered it  a bit tilted onto the cardstock and doodled the white borders with a ball pen.Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-aThe dimensional layer under the picture is created with Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Bubble and Texture Paste. For the grey borders on the pattern paper I used the Colour Rub-Ons from Charlottes Dream Collection and then I sprinkled all the layers with KaiserMist Spray Ink Charcoal.Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-bI used pattern papers from the Paper Pad to create the layers under my picture.Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-gTo embellish the layout I used die cut elements from the Paper Pad and the Collectables pack, which I altered with Rhinestones – Silver.Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-f Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-e Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-d Mi-secret-garden-boy-det-cI hope I managed to inspire you today!

Hello everybody!

It’s Emmy again with my second post for July! As you already know this month I’m presenting Kaisercraft’s Secret Garden colelction (available at the Merly Impressions online store).

This week I’ve prepared two all occasion cards using Embossing folders, the Paper Pad and the Collectables pack.

“Live, Laugh, Love”

MI-SG-card

For my first card I used Kaisercard Cherry Weave Cardstock for the card base and Kaisercard Coconut Weave Cardstock for the second layer. The card base is 10x15cm and the white layer is 0.5cm shorter from each side. After I cut out the white cardstock, I embossed it with Kaisercraft Small Leaves Embossing folder, inked its edges with Tim Holtz Mini Distress Pad Picked Raspberry and spattered some of the Pink and Red KaiserMists on top.  MI-SG-card-det-c

After the mists have dried, I added the rest of the layers using pattern papers from the Paper Pad and die cut elements from the Paper Pad and the Collectables pack. I adhered all the layers with Mounting Foam Tape and curled the edges of the banners.

Hello everybody!

This collection is has a lot of sweet florals and butterflies patterns perfect for girly shabby chic creations, but also grey and blue papers for those cute boy pictures.

My first project this month is a shabby chic layout a family picture of me and the kids.

For the background I used Posy pattern paper. I added a floral edge using a sticker from the 12″ Sticker sheet. Then I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Pad Picked Raspberry and I drew a white frame using white pen. After the ink has dried I stamped the doily pattern from the Clear Stamp Set matching the collection with Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Pad Picked Raspberry and sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink Red and Pink on top.

June 2015 Crop – Layout Preview

Hi everyone,

Here are the sneak peeks and details of the layouts for the Merly Impressions Crop on Saturday 6th June 2015 – 10am to 8pm (an extended event for June).

The kit uses the lovely Kaisercraft collection Secret Garden which features pretty florals, small patterns and a soft colour palette.

The first layout, which I’ve called “Favourite Place” uses one coloured photo measuring 13cm wide x 9cm high. A black & white photo would also work.

The second layout which I’ve called “Love You” uses one coloured photo measuring 13cm wide x 9cm high. A black & white photo would also work.

love-you-peek-1000

With the left overs of the kit I have created a third layout that includes two photos about 5.5cm wide x 7.5cm high.

Other items used on the layouts which you will need to bring are a journal pen, pale blue & pale pink ink pad for inking round the edges, Corner rounder and foam pads. You will also need a needle for sewing (if you want to do it) and a small pair of scissors because there is a lot of fussy cutting on both of the layouts. I have also used some Crystal Lacquer on some of the embellishments. A similar product will also work although this is entirely optional. We will however have Crystal Lacquer, ink pads & Foam dots/roll available to purchase in the Merly shop.

We will bring our usual supply of tools, including the Sew Easy Tools (which are used on the layouts), Big Shot, Dies, punches, etc, to the crop if people would like to use them to create their own title or cut out other embellishments. There is also some misting used on the layouts, the KaiserMists used will also be supplied.

For anyone who cannot join us on the day, the kit will be available to purchase online after the crop. It will contain detailed instructions for you to complete the first two layouts.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page.

There will also be the usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies.  Paul will be making a selection of yummy cakes, a buffet tea will also be supplied later in the day, which will include, sandwiches, salads and a selection of finger foods. We will also bring biscuits, chocolates, tea and coffee. Please bring your own lunch.

See you all on 6th June at 10am (until 8pm).
