Christmas Album with Starry Night

Hello, Karen here with my third project using Kaisercraft’s Starry Night collection.  This range has a navy and creamy grey pallet with gold foil highlights and is just perfect for a Christmas Album.  At the moment, I am totally besotted with Travellers Notebooks and decided that I would use that size for my album.  I cut 16 pieces of card measuring 4.5 x 8 and punched them with a two hole punch – just an ordinary office one, nothing fancy.  I have an A5 ringbinder, from The Range, which I am going to cut down to fit my pages.

I have used the Metallic Number Sheet for the numbers and a parcel tag (also from The Range), cut to 4ins tall on each page.  All patterned paper added to the tags measures 2in x 3in.

Page 1

I cut a piece of Radiant, 7.5ins x 3.5ins and added to one of my black pages. Onto my tag I added a piece of music paper measuring 2in x 3in and one of the phrases, from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad. To the right of this I placed a flower cut from Daring, a holly leaf from the Collectables and two pieces of gold bling strip.

Page 2

This time I cut a piece of Magic 7.5 ins x 3.5 ins and added to the adjoining page.  I added a piece from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad to a tag along with a number two pieces from the Collectables  and a sticker from the Sticker Book.

Page 3

Again I cut a piece of paper 7.5in x 3.5in and this time I used Glowing, after adding a piece of paper to my tag, form the  6.5 x 6.5 pad I used the Starry Night stamp set and gold ink to stamp the holly, added two stickers from the Sticker Book and the gold lines, also from the Sticker Book.

Page 4

After adding a piece of Glowing to my page I stamped a Poinsettia using the same stamp set and ink as I used above, adding Deep Yellow gems to the centre of the flower, added a phrase and sticker from the Sticker Book and die cut two flourishes using a sheet from the Gold and Silver Foil Paper pad.

Page 5
I started by cutting a piece of paper from the  6.5 x 6.5 pad  and added to the centre of my page.  In the top left and bottom right I added a flower which I fussy cut from Daring paper.  I topped my tag with a tag from the Collectables pack and a sticker from the Sticker Book. I added Deep Yellow gems to the centre of the flowers.

Page 6

Again I used a piece from the  6.5 x 6.5 pad  cut to 3.5 ins wide.  My tag was embellished with a star and Circle from the  Collectables pack, a scalloped square from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad and a border sticker from the  Sticker Book.

Page 7

This time I used a piece of Modern as the base of my page with a border sticker from the  Sticker Book at the top and bottom.  To my tag I added a large holly leaf from the Collectables pack and a couple of phrase stickers from the  Sticker Book.

Page 8

The base of this page was Magic with a border from the Sticker Book at the bottom.  My tag was embellished with two poinsettias made using the Starry Night stamp set and gold ink .  I added a pennant from the Collectables pack and a small phrase from the 6.5 x 6.5 pad.  I added Deep Yellow gems to the centre of the flowers.

Page 9

I started by using a piece of Striking as my base and then to my tag I added three strips and a banner from the Sticker Book and three little trees from the Wooden Flourish pack. The number was backed by a circle sticker.

Page 10

A piece of Modern was used as the base with a border of poinsettias cut from a page from the  6.5 x 6.5 pad.  I added a small piece of Magic to my tag with a phrase cut from one of the pages from the  6.5 x 6.5 pad, the circle underneath the number was also from this pad.  I used a Decorative Die to cut my poinsettia from the Gold and Silver Foil Paper pad and added a Deep Yellow gem to the centre.

I love my little Christmas mini and can’t wait to make some more pages.  Keep an eye on the Merly Crop Facebook page for the next set of pages.  I may even make a little ‘walk through’ video once I have finished it.

Love with Starry Night

Hello, Karen here again with my second project using the beautiful Starry Night collection.  Again, I decided to make another non-Christmas layout to showcase how versatile this range is.

Love Layout

For this layout I have used Kaisercard in Anchor, Modern, Magic, Miraculous, Astounding and Radiant 12 x 12 papers, Sticker Book, Foil Paper Pad, Rhinestone Strips, Deep Yellow Rhinestones, Kaisermist in Gold, Kaisermist in NavyDecorative Die Poinsettia and Decorative Dies – Festive Frames.

I started by trimming .25in from the bottom and one side of my Modern paper, adding to the centre of the  Kaisercard and spattered  Kaisermist in Gold and Navy onto it.  IMG_0429

I cut a strip of   Anchor Kaisercard  1.5 ins wide and used a border punch on one long edge.  From the Astounding paper I cut the strip with large gold spots and the one with gold stars.  I also cut a piece of Magic 1.25 wide which I added the to the left of my page and the card strip 3.25 from the left. The gold spot paper was then added on top of this.

Next I cut a piece of Modern measuring 5.5 ins and used the border punch, used previously, on both long edges.  To this I added a piece of Magic  (foiled side down) which measured 3.5 x 10 and stuck this to the piece of Modern .75 from the left.  My final piece of Astounding  was added over this vertically along the middle of the gold spot strip with a strip of rhinestones  Onto these I layered the Rhinestone Strips either side and a piece of punched paper from the Foil Paper Pad to the right of this strip. This was stuck to my page 1 in from the top.

I cut a heart, freehand, from a piece from the Foil Paper Pad and a smaller one from Radiant I layered them up with a Rhinestone Strip around the edge. This was placed at the bottom right of my page.

I added a 5 x 7 in photo to the left of my page with stickers from the Sticker Book along the right of my photo extending them slightly around the top and bottom, adding a Deep Yellow Rhinestone to the centre of each flower.

From Foil Paper Pad I used the Decorative Die Poinsettia to cut two flowers which I added to the top and bottom left of my photo.  As a final touch I used the ‘Love’ from the Decorative Dies – Festive Frames was used for my title.

This is such a beautiful range and I am really pleased with the results.

Hi Everyone,
What a fabulous September Crop we had and thank you so very much to everyone who attended and made the day so very special indeed. There was lots of crafting, chatting and cake eating (as usual) and It was lovely catching up with everyone.

For the kit I used papers from the beautiful “Starry Night” Kaisercraft collection pictured below. Included in the crop kit were detailed instructions and stash to make two layouts.

The layout also features lots of fussy cutting, stitching and lots of layers. I have used a black & white photo measuring 12cm wide x 12cm high. I have also stamped and fussy cut the little poinsettia from the coordinating stamp set and arranged these on the centres of the larger poinsettia.

……and here is the second layout which I’ve called: “Gorgeous” – for this layout I have I have fussy cut the pretty poinsettia from the “Daring” paper and arranged them underneath my photo which measures 13.5 x 10.5cm, the layout also features a punched border and lots of layers.

The kit is now available to purchase in the Merly Impressions on-line shop – it can be found in the Layout Kits section of the website.

I just want to say a massive thank you!!!! to everyone that attended our September  crop which made it such a very special day. We look forward to seeing your finished layouts using my kit over on the Merly Crop Facebook page.

My photo measures about 12cm x 12cm. There will be a starburst template in each kit.

Below are some sneak peeks of the second layout which I’ve called “Gorgeous”

This layout features lots of beautiful fussy cutting, punching, stitching and layering, there is a lot of height in this layout. My photo measures about 13.5cm wide by about 10.5cm high. The punch will be available to use at the crop along with the Sew Easy Tools.

I will also be bringing some of my latest, Kaisercraft design team creations
