Kookaburra with Native Breeze by Kaisercraft

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I would like to share a very Ozzie themed layout with you. I have created it using the NATIVE BREEZE Collection by Kaisercraft. The main theme of my layout is the Australian native bird- the Kookaburra. This bird has a very distinctive call which sounds like laughing. They are white and brown with gorgeous blue/green patches of features in the wings, as you can see clearly in the featured photograph. My lovely and very talented friend Gaby took this stunning photo. I have also focussed on the Ozzie colours for this layout- go green and gold!

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  1.  Cut a strip of KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 30.5 x 21 cm. Punch along the top and bottom using your favourite border punch. Measure ~0.5 cm under the pattern and create stitching holes using the SEW EASY STITCH PIERCER. Use teal coloured DMC thread and sew through holes. Using a PAPER DISTRESSER to distress the unpunched edges.
  2. Take SUNDOWN – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION and trim the bottom to 30.5 x 12 cm. Distress short edges and adhere ~1.5 cm from the stitching on the bottom of the cinnamon strip.
  3. Splatter KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – GOLD SHIMMER 50ML onto the prepared strip.

  4. Take the bottom strip from BANKSIA BOUQUET – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION and adhere across the top of the brown strip ~1 cm from the top stitching. Take a yellow and a white sticker strip from the STICKER BOOK – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION and adhere to the top of the large green section, on both sides.
MIDT2020-02 Native Breeze by Kaisercraft - Kookaburra Image 3
  5. Take PINK PROTEA – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION, remove bottom strip and distress edges. From the middle, cut a piece from the middle 12 x 9.5 cm to frame your photo later. Using spare cardboard or foam tape, adhere your pre-prepared strip ~3.5 cm from the bottom.
MIDT2020-02 Native Breeze by Kaisercraft - Kookaburra Image 4
Take photo with dimensions of 15.2 x 10.2 cm frame with pre-cut Pink Protea piece, KAISERCARD CINNAMON WEAVE CARDSTOCK (16 x 10.8 cm), SUNDOWN – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION (15.5 x 11.3 cm) and white wattle page from the PAPER PAD – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION (11.3 x 16.5 cm), distress all framing pieces. Adhere matted photo to the layout ~3 cm from the top and 5.5 cm from the left of layout. I have also added a Uniquely Creative laser cut word to my photo frame. I have prepared it by inking in KAISERINK PAD – CHOCOLATE and covering it with Rangers Glossy Accents. MIDT2020-02 Native Breeze by Kaisercraft - Kookaburra Image 5
  6. Take 2 x ~40 cm teal coloured DMC thread and pull out each individual thread, curl them up and glue around the edges of the central green strip of your layout. Also add some to the top left of the photo, as a base for a small embellishment cluster. Adhere a second  BANKSIA BOUQUET – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION bottom strip (with distressed edges) using foam tape to the bottom edge of the green strip, to help hold the thread in place.MIDT2020-02 Native Breeze by Kaisercraft - Kookaburra Image 6
  7. Fussy cut the Kookaburra birds and matching leaves from NATIVE FLOCK – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION. Take these same items from the COLLECTABLES – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION. Adhere in the areas where the curly thread in located to help hold it down further.
  8. Embellish further with RHINESTONES – NAVY and the Kookaburra CURIOS – NATIVE BREEZE COLLECTION.

Just a reminder that I am also selling my cards which can be found at Australian Bushfire Recovery- Card Sale on Facebook Xx.

I hope you enjoyed reading all about how I created this very Australian themed layout!

From Paris with Love

Hello Everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout that I have created using Kaisercraft’s CRAFTERNOON Collection. I was excited to use this collection! I think it is very versatile and it just perfect to capture and record those creative memories, especially for those photos that are a little more difficult to use with “just any collection”. This collection also incorporates a great mix of colours and for this layout I have chosen to focus mainly on the blues and yellows, to help highlight the yellow and blue tones in my photo. This photo is from a recent trip to Paris, I love how the Eiffel Tower sits perfectly on the skyline as though it was drawn there. This shows how the CRAFTERNOON Collection is so versatile that you can even scrapbook travel photos with it!

20191027_183813To create this layout I have followed the instructions below:

  1. Cut DIY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 15.2 x 30.5 cm. Spray one side and partly into the middle of the other side with KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – NAVY 50ML. Ink edges using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – BLUE HAZE. Create stitching holes ~ 0.7 cm from the top and bottom of  the DIY paper, using a SEW EASY STITCH PIERCER. Stitch in yellow thread.20191023_205119
  2.  Cut KAISERCARD SPLASH WEAVE CARDSTOCK to ~20.5 x 30.5 cm, using a side punch on the longer sides to give a decorative edge and ink edges using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – BLUE HAZE. Create stitching holes ~ 1.2 cm from the top and bottom of the punched pattern, using a SEW EASY STITCH PIERCER. Stitch in yellow thread. Cut KAISERCARD LEMONADE WEAVE CARDSTOCK at ~17.5 x 30.5 cm, using a side punch on the longer sides to give a decorative edge and ink edges using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – AMBER. Attach DIY paper to the Lemonade Cardstock, foam tape this combination to the Splash Cardstock. 20191023_220246
  3. Trim CRAFTY – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm and ink edges with using an ink blending tool and KAISERINK PAD – AMBER. Attach previously prepared and layered section and attache to the middle of the Crafty paper. Take one yellow and one blue ruler from MEASURED – CRAFTERNOON COLLECTION, trim to different lengths and ink edges. layer the rulers from the middle to the left of the layout.20191023_221952
  4. Take a photo 13 x 8.5 cm, cut a frame from KAISERCARD SPLASH WEAVE CARDSTOCK at 13.8 x 9.5 cm attach photo with foam tape and a layer of CHEESECLOTH GAUZE in between. Cockatoo Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Today I would like to share a layout that I created using the UNDER THE GUM LEAVES Collection by Kaisercraft. This collection really inspired to hunt down some “Old Aussie Christmas” photo’s from my childhood. This one contains a photo taken on Christmas morning after Santa had left our Christmas present in the paddock. Here I have focused on using representing the Cockatoo in this layout as these birds can be very cheeky in nature, which connects to the children playing. They also appear to be looking eagerly and awaiting their turn to play.

20190929_180829

To create this Layout I followed the following steps:

  1. Trim BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION to 30.5 x 30.5 cm and cut out the centre to get a piece that is 22 x 22 cm. Distress the edges with PAPER DISTRESSER and ink with KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool.20190921_092252
  2. Using KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool, transfer the GUM LEAF MINI DESIGNER STENCIL pattern onto the smaller piece of BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION20190921_093019
  3. Cut GOLDEN GLITTER CARDSTOCK to 23.5 x 23.5 cm and KAISERCARD CACTUS WEAVE CARDSTOCK to 24.5 x 24.5 cm. Distress the edges with PAPER DISTRESSER and ink with KAISERINK PAD – FOREST and an ink blending tool.
  4. Attach the smallBOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION to the GOLDEN GLITTER CARDSTOCK . Attach this combination to the KAISERCARD CACTUS WEAVE CARDSTOCK. Foam tape (or Cardboard and tape) this tripled layer to the lagerBOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION. Using a paint brush and KAISERMIST SPRAY INK – YELLOW 50ML, paint some additional wattle flowers onto the background.20190921_100314
  5. Fussy cut the Cockatoo, leaves and wattle flowers from Cockatoo paper. MOUNTING FOAM TAPE to the left hand side of the centre BOTTLE BRUSH – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION. Frame photo (15.4 x 10.2 cm) with the green and red striped paper from the PAPER PAD – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION.20190921_132647
  6. Embellish layout with another cockatoo and messages from the PAPER PAD – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION, stickers from the STICKER BOOK – UNDER THE GUM LEAVES COLLECTION, RHINESTONES – DEEP YELLOW and clear glitter glue.

Remember with Whisper

Hello,

Karen here with my last project using the delicious Whisper range.

I love the versatility of this paper range and for my first page, this month, scrapped a photo that was only a few months old.  For my second page I scrapped a photo that was over 50 years old and for this one am using a photo that is nearly 90 years old!  Each photo has been perfectly complimented by this collection.

Remember

For this page I have used the reverse side of Bisque, the smooth side of Kaisercard Snow Weave, Whisper clear stamps, mini ink pad – Bark, Whisper flourish pack, Sticker Sheet, Collectables, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, alpha stickers – Ebony Soft Pink rhinestones, mini paper blooms Sage, paper blooms Honey and Little Birdie Symphony Flowers – Coffee Bean.  I also used a cream tag from my own supplies.

To start I trimmed .5 in from the top and one side of my Kaisercard Snow Weave, I then used a plate to draw a circle in the centre and stamped the large fern from the Whisper clear stamps, using mini ink pad – Bark,  in each corner.  I then fussy cut around the circle and the leaves that extended over the circle.

51828277_10213904024578666_1348312391674232832_n

This was adhered to the centre of the Bisque paper.  My photo was double mounted onto two pieces of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  The photo mounts were slid under the white card and the photo layered over the top, under one of the fern fronds.

IMG_5598

I added my tag,  two watch faces and a circular sentiment, from the Collectables pack, to the top right of my photo with the ‘Choose Happy’ phrase , also from the Collectables pack.

IMG_5599

On each side of my page I added the wooden leaves from the Whisper flourish pack,  mini paper blooms Sage, paper blooms Honey and Little Birdie Symphony Flowers – Coffee Bean with stamped butterflies and butterflies from the Sticker Sheet and Collectables, tucked in amongst the flowers.

IMG_5600

A phrase fro the Sticker Sheet was trimmed into sections and added to the right of the photo.   I added a title to the top of the tag using alpha stickers – Ebony.

IMG_5601

All that remained was to add a few Soft Pink rhinestones at the top and bottom of my circle and under my title on the tag.

IMG_5602

So there we have my final Whisper page, don’t forget to pop back to see what Denise and Emmy have made this month.

Let The Adventure Begin with Whisper

Hello,
Karen here with the second of my Whisper projects.  For this one I wanted to showcase the beautiful stamps and used them as a feature on each side of my page.

Let The Adventure Begin

On this page I have used the reverse side of Ecru paper, a piece of the reverse side of Earthy paper, Buff paper,  Kaisercard Snow Weave card,  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Flora and Fauna acetate sheet, collectables, sticker sheet and Whisper clear stamps. I also used a brown manila tag and a white doily from my own supplies.

I started by stamping the sprigs of flowers down both sides of my card, with the Whisper clear stamps, being careful to get them as close as possible.  I then added butterflies where there was available space – three on the left and four on the right.

51724500_10213879261479604_6504572865638039552_n

I then used Kaisercraft Colouring Pencils (which are on sale at the moment) to colour the stamped images.

IMG_5553

I cut a piece of Ecru paper 12 ins tall and 5 ins wide and stuck this, vertically, to the centre of my page.  Next I added 4in x 9 in piece of Earthy paper (reserved from my previous page), a 5.5in x 2 in piece of paper from the  6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and a 5.25 x 1 in piece, with gold butterflies, from the same pad.  I used another piece from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad as my photo mount.

IMG_5557

Onto the photo mount I added a doily at the top right and a manila tag at the bottom left. I then added my photo on foam pads.  I cut the title from  Buff paper and placed at the top right corner of my photo.

IMG_5555

IMG_5556

At the bottom of my photo I added the film strip from the collectables, with a piece of the butterfly border sticker.   I also added a phrase from the sticker sheet,  collectables were placed under the photo at the top right and under over the tag at the bottom left of my photo.  The final touch was to fussy cut all the butterflies from the Flora and Fauna acetate sheet and scatter about my page.

IMG_5558

I loved how this paper range worked perfectly with an old black and white photo of me.  I have used a really vintage photo for my final project which I will show you later in the month.

Swimming with Whale Sharks with Deep Sea

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my last project using the Deep Sea Kaisercraft collection.

IMG_6722-2.Resized

For this layout I used a photo of my son’s girlfriend swimming with Whale Sharks, sounds scary but I’ve been assured it wasn’t too bad !

I started by using a sheet of Deep Sea Dive paper. I then cut down a piece of  White Kaisercard .

Using some Turquoise Kaisermist  mixed in with some Texture Paste, I  spread this through the Crackle stencil  on to the white card at the top.IMG_6703

IMG_6704

Next, I cut some 3 x 4 sized rectangles from Anemone and Sea Shell papers and adhered them to the bottom of the card.IMG_6705

I placed this on to the base paper then adhered a fish border sticker from the Sticker Sheet across the join in the middle.

Taking some more papers, I cut some half inch strips in varying lengths and placed them over to the right under my photo which was matted on to a paper from the Paper Pad.

To decorate around the photo and at the bottom I used lots of stickers from the Sticker Sheet, which I stuck to some spare card and mounted on to foam tape.

IMG_6734

I added some Dark Green Rhinestones on the photo to add some detail.IMG_6737

Some die cuts from the Collectables Pack were used around the photo and at the bottom of the layout.

IMG_6737

This has been a lovely collection to work with and I’m really looking forward to showing you the next  collection.

Wild and Free with Deep Sea

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my second layout using the Deep Sea Kaisercraft Collection.

IMG_6617 rresized-banner

When I saw these papers I was thrilled as whilst my son was travelling, he visited the Galapagos Islands and swam with the turtles amongst other things and these papers were perfect .

First,I used a sheet of dark rich blue Deep Sea Dive paper,  then I cut down a sheet of Sea Floor with the big turtle on.

Next, I took some Coconut Kaisercard, and embossed it with the Scales Embossing Folder

IMG_6584

I adhered the turtle paper to the Deep Sea Dive paper after cutting it down by 1/4 inch on each side.

I cut a rectangle from the cream side of the Snorkel paper then placed it towards the top of the turtle paper then placed the embossed card pieces on to the papers.

IMG_6603

Next I used some papers from the Paper Pad to mat my photos and place underneath them.

Once I had decided where my photos were going, I cut carefully around the turtle in the left corner so i could tuck the papers underneath so he wasn’t hidden.

I used border strips of shells along the bottom of the layout, mounting one on foam tape.

IMG_6620

In the top left corner I used a Net Die Cut that I had cut from white card.

IMG_6621

I used one of the phrases from the Sticker Sheet for my title, then used lots of Collectables around the layout to embellish.

IMG_6619

To finish off, i dotted some Dark Green Rhinestones around the die cuts top and bottom.

Thanks for visiting and do pop back soon for some more inspiration from the team.

Little Mermaid with Deep Sea

Hello,

Karen here with my second project using the Deep Sea collection.  When I saw the  Sea Shell gloss paper I knew I wanted to use this photo of Gracia when she was 5.  It isn’t a very clear photo as it was taken before the emergence of digital cameras so then you only had one chance at a photo and didn’t know if it was ok or not until you got it printed.

Little Mermaid Layout

For this layout I have used –  Pebble card stock,  Sea Shell gloss paper, Mermaid Scales foil paper, Deep Sea Dive paper, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Sticker Sheet and Collectables pack.

I started by trimming .25in from the top and one side of the Deep Sea Dive paper and adhered this to the Pebble card stock. I then cut out the shell from the Sea Shell gloss paper.  I cut some sections from Mermaid Scales foil paper.  I stuck these to the bottom of my page, with the scallops pointing upwards to look like waves.  Next I added the seashell, over the top of the Mermaid Scale sections.  To give my page more dimension I placed foam pads under each strip of Mermaid Scales, where they extended at either side of the shell.

IMG_5294

I added the shell and seaweed stickers from the Sticker Sheet  either side of the shell, tucking the bottom of the stickers under the top strip of Mermaid Scales and overlapping the shell.

IMG_5291 IMG_5290

The little fish were ‘fussy cut’ from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and the larger ones and mermaids were from the Collectables pack.  Also from the Collectables pack were the little square phrase, seahorse scallop border and row of little fishes.

IMG_5293 IMG_5292

I cur around my photo as there were other little girls standing either side of Gracia and added this to my page with a piece of seaweed from the Collectables pack.

IMG_5295

To finish my page I cut the title and wrote the journaling with my Silhouette machine onto a piece of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

Pop back later in the week to see what the other talented DT have been making with their Kaisercraft goodies this month xxx

Sea Lions with Deep Sea

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year, Denise here with my first project using the Deep Sea Kaisercraft collection.IMG_E6534-resized& banner

I am using the gorgeous Sea Shell Gloss Paper on my layout to day, its a perfect background for all your sea and beach based photos.

I took a sheet of Barrier Reef paper and using the shell side used some Texture Paste through a Mini Mix Designer Stencil to add some interest at the back and to make the shell pop a bit.

IMG_6476

IMG_6478

Next, I used a Texture Netting decorative die to cut one white net out then cut in half to use behind my photo.

I adhered the shell on to the background once it was dry, then matted my photo on to some papers from the Paper Pad IMG_6532

I also distressed the edges with a Paper Distresser. I used lots of die cuts from the Collectables to decorate around the layout and a wave sticker along the bottom of the photo from the Sticker Sheet. The wording and some of the collectables were inked around with a Lagoon Mini ink pad.

IMG_6531 IMG_6529IMG_E6534-resized

I also added some journalling with a white pen.

This is a lovely collection to work with and the team will be back soon with some great inspiration for you.
