Telegraph Road with Emmy

Hello Kaisercraft friends!

Emmy here today with a new project to share and a short tutorial on how to choose the right colours for your layout, using the amazing Kaisercraft collections.

The Kaisercraft paper lines have amazing colourful patterns and are perfect to use with any type of pictures. But every now and then, I would like to choose just a few colours from the collection to match my photograph better.

Today, I decided to work with the yellow, green and blue from the Telegraph Road paper line and I added dark brown stamped images and accents. I left out the pink and the red colour.

As you can see my picture works perfectly with this colour combination. It was taken a few years ago in Guatemala on top of one of the highest Mayan’s temples.

For my background I used the Collect die-cut glossy paper. I stamped the Timeless Postmarks clear stamp and Kaisercraft Brown Ink Pad. I added a bit of texture using the Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink pad and the Kaisercraft Distress Clear Stamp.

I carefully selected the papers (both 12 x 12″ and from the Paper Pad) and the die-cut elements from the Collectables package with the colours I wanted to use. To build the layers on my page I used paper from the Telegraph Road Paper Pad and Kaisercard Coffee Bean Weave cardstock.

MI-Friends-det-iI aged the edges of some of my layers using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser tool. The other I die-cut with Tim Holtz “Torn Notebook” on the edge die.

To embellish further my layout, I used die cuts from the Collectables package and fussy cut framed sayings from the Paper Pad.

It was really fun to look at all those pretty die cuts and select the ones, I needed. I also added some vintage flowers from Petaloo and blue roses.

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Challenge Inspiration with Telegraph Road

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here with a brand new layout created for Merly Impressions’ March “Food or My Favourite Food” challenge.

This month I have the pleasure to create with the amazing “Telegraph Road” collection from Kaisercraft. The colour combo of this line is stunning and it is perfect for both boys and girls – “Ice Cream”:

MI-Icecream-web

Last summer we went to Disneyland in Paris and we got ice creams for the kids. The little ones got the largest swirly available, but somehow they both ended up eating up Elise’s choice 🙂

To create my background I used the Mail die-cut glossy paper, which I layered on top of the “Notes” pattern paper. Before adhering them together, I carefully fussy cut the glossy roses and using die-cut flowers from the Collectables package, I designed the decoration in the left top corner of my page.

To embellish my page I used stamped and fussy cut different banners, using the Telegraph Road clear stamps:

… die cuts and shapes from the 6 x 6″ Paper Pad:

… and stickers from the 12″ Sticker Sheet:

I added flowers {Kaisercraft Paper Blooms “Hot Pink” and Mini Paper Blooms “Hot Pink”},

rhinestones {Kaisercraft Pearls Rose – because of the different size of the pearls, you can create any shape you like with them!} and glitter glue to finish off my design.

February Challenge Inspiration from Emmy

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Emmy here with a brand new layout created for Merly Impressions’ February “Stamps & Stamping” challenge. As you might know, Kaisercraft produce the most unique and inspirational clear stamps, which you can use on absolutely any type of project.

This month I have the pleasure to create with the stunning “Telegraph Road” collection from Kaisercraft. Add a lot of stamps and here is the result – Hello Sunshine:

MI-Hello-sunshine-web

To create my layout I used different stamps sets and background stamps:

For my background I used two different pattern papers from the “Telegraph Road” collection – Telegram and Message.

MI-background-web

I cut off 1 cm from each side of the Telegram pattern paper, inked and distressed it edges and layered it on top of the Message pattern paper. Then I started altering it with stamps, ink and paint.

First, I marked where my picture will be and then I added a light green pastel around it. After the fixative was dry, I added alphabet pattern using Tim Holtz “Cargo” layering stencil and  “Old Paper” distress ink pad.

Then I stamped the “Grunge” background pattern with a brown ink and the “Honeycomb” background pattern with a black ink. Finally I added the “Bubble wrap” background pattern with Kaisercolour paint “Pistachio”.

When all the layers were dry, I started assembling my design. I used the Collectables pack and the 6.5 x 6.5 inch Paper Pad to create my embellishments.

I used the “Telegraph Road” clear stamps set to stamp the Hello Sunshine sentiment of a few places on my page.

For the black birds and butterflies I used the “Hummingbird” clear stamp set…

and the “Blae & Ivy” stamp set for the foliage.
