Brothers Love using Gums and Roses

Hi Everyone,
I have tried something different with the Gums and Roses Collection today. Although I love the pinks in this collection, I wanted to challenge myself to create something more suited to a baby boy. For this layout I have focused on the Watercolour Cut-Apart Sheet of this collection and the Uniqolour Markers.

To create this layout I have followed the steps below:

  • Adhere Eucalypt Posey to cardstock
  • Take a photo with dimensions of 9.5 x 9.5 cm and frame with Kaisercard Arctic Weave Cardstock cut at 10 x 10 cm before adhering the the centre of the layout

I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful using the gorgeous roses of the Gums and Roses collection and the Uniquolor Markers today.

Fancy Card and Box Set using Gums and Roses

Hi everyone,
I have a special project to share with you today! It is a set of 8 cards and a box to store them in too. I have used the stunning Gums and Roses Collection by Uniquely Creative. I just love all the beautiful flowers and gorgeous Australian wildlife to fussy cut in this collection. I thoroughly used just had to use it for this slightly larger project.

To create the cards in this project I have followed the steps below:

  • Ink the edges of each card and each cut piece with Pink Petal Ink.
Adhere one larger cut piece to each prepared card. Foam tape the smaller pieces onto the front of the cards, slightly left of centre.
  • Glue a piece of CHEESECLOTH GAUZE to the front of each card.

To create the box in this project I have followed the steps below:

  • Take an old card board box, I have used one with dimensions 14 x 19 x 6 cm.
  • Cut FULL BLOOM to two 13.5 x 18.5 cm, two 5.5 x 13.5 cm and two 5.5 x 18.5 cm pieces. Cut KAISERCARD TUTU WEAVE CARDSTOCK to the same dimensions as FULL BLOOM. Adhere cut pieces on the inside and outside of the box as desired.
  • Using the same techniques described above, stamp the top of the box and then apply texture paste. Adhere a strip of lace along the top of the box and a strip from EVERYDAY MOMENTS on the bottom.
  • Build a cluster in the centre of the top of the box and the inside of the lid, with fussy cut elements, CREATIVE CUTS and cheesecloth gauze.

If you would like to see the video tutorial I have made for these fancy cards please click here, and for the box please click here.
I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful using the gorgeous roses of the Gums and Roses collection today.

Sunflower Dreams with Sunny Village

Hi Everyone,
I have documented more of my summer photo’s using the Sunny Village Collection by ScrapBoys and the Uniqolour Markers. I fell deeply in love with the sunflower frame of paper 02 and just knew that I had to use for my sunflower filled photos! I have again focused on a yellow and brown theme, with lots of flowers.

To create this project I have followed to steps below:

  • Trim strip from SUNNY VILLAGE – PAPER 02.
  • Measure and rule a line 7.7 cm from the left and right side of the page. Fussy cut the flower frame on the inside of these lines. You should have two pieces to adhere to the top layer of your layout later.
  • Trim to 19 x 30.5 KAISERCARD DAFFODIL WEAVE CARDSTOCK and use your favourite punch along the long sides.
  • Ink the edges of the Daffodil piece in KAISERINK PAD – CHESTNUT and using the same ink stamp “you brighten my day” from the CLEAR STAMPS – BOMBAY SUNSET along the inside edge of your punched line.
  • Adhere prepared Daffodil piece to the centre of Paper 02, covering the cut flower frame.
  • Fussy cut the two frames with flower corners from SUNNY VILLAGE – PAPER 06, and including remove the centres.
  • Size, cut and adhere photos to centre of the frames.
  • Foam tape framed photo to the centre of the layout, with a layer of CHEESECLOTH GAUZE in between.

I hope I have inspired you to create a layout with the Sunny Village collection to document some of your summer memories.

So Thankful For You

Hello, Karen here with my second project using the ScrapBoys Butterfly Meadow collecton and Uniqolour brush markers.

For this layout I started by scribbling with a Uniqolour marker on a small plastic bag, using a colour that co-ordinated with my papers.

I then sprayed it with some water

And dabbed it, in a diagonal line, onto a piece of smooth white card, repeating this process with two more colours and set aside to dry. I am using this for the base of my layout.   I use the same technique on another piece of smooth white card but this time covered the whole piece of card.  This piece will be used for stamping butterflies.

Onto the piece of card I am using for my layout base I added some roses using the 6 x 4 Roses Mini Designer Template and some texture paste.

I cut a piece of Butterfly Meadow Paper 01 that measured 12ins tall and 4ins wide and another 4 ins tall and 4.5ins wide.  I used a border punch on each of the long sides of the 4 in piece.  After layering the 4 in piece onto the 5 in piece I added them to my page 2.5ins from the right.

Next, using Smoke Kaiserink, I stamped lots of butterflies onto the piece of card that I had covered with Uniqolour splodges and fussy cut and die cut them out.

For my photo mat, from the reverse side, I cut a 5.25 square from Paper 03 and a 5.5 square from Paper 04.  I used foam mounting dots to layer these up with my photo on the top, keeping the pads away from the edges of the paper and photo, and added to my page 3ins from the top and 2ins from the right.

I used Paper 03 and the Layered Rose decorative dies to cut some roses and the Paper 04 and Décor Flourish decorative die to cut some flourishes. I inked the edges of the roses with Smoke Kaiserink before layering them up and added Orange Rhinestones to the centre of each one.

To complete my page I added a rose at the top left and bottom right of my photo and then clustered butterflies either side of the vertical strip of paper.  I used my Silhouette and Paper 03 and Paper 04. to make my title.

It was fun making my own inky background and a really easy way to achieve striking results.

Sunny Village Cards

Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing with you some mixed media cards using the Sunny Village Collection by ScrapBoys. I love the summer feel and the bright colours of these papers. I have also used the fabulous UNIQOLOUR MARKERS to create my backgrounds of these cards.

To create these cards I have used the steps below:

  • For two cards Take the brown and yellow UNIQOLOUR MARKERS and for the other two take the black, deep green and red markers.
  • Colour a line in the same direction of the texture paste in the darkest colour and then a gradient out. Use the water brush to blend the colours and move then as you wish.

I hope I have inspired you to create some cards using the Sunny Village Collection and the UNIQOLOUR MARKERS. Stay Safe and Happy Crafting!
