Happy – Fly Free

HI everyone,

Linda here with another layout using the Fly Free paper pack.  These are so useful as I always want to use both sides of the same paper!
IMG_0876 smallI began with a 20.5cm strip from the bottom of Partner and 2 x 7cm strips of Gal Pal, these were attached top and bottom to create the 12″ square page – I always use my mat as a size guide but you can mount it onto 12×12″ card if preferred.

IMG_0881 smalEither side of the panel I added sentences from the Sticker Sheet which also comes in the paper pack making it great value for money.  All edges have been inked with Distress Ink. I then added my photo 10×11.cm with a matt of Gal Pal to the left hand side.

To create the journalling, I drew some lines in lightly with a pencil and ruler for a guide then chose a few colours from the Kaisercolour pen set – this is a beautiful rainbow of both gel and glitter pens that write & colour beautifully – and wrote either side of my photo.  Once fully dried – I left mine for a while to ensure it didn’t smudge – I erased the pencil marks.

IMG_0841 smallAnother advantage of the paper pack is being able to decoupage elements, so a lot of fussy cutting took place cutting out lots of the flowers and butterflies which I glittered using the Kaisercolour glitter pens – you can see above and below how well these work to add accents.

IMG_0842 smallThe elements were all then shaped and layered onto the page using mounting foam tape for dimension – again a very versatile product as it can be cut into smaller pieces to fit.

IMG_0877 smallOf course the little flowers needed to have sparkly centres so I used Hot Pink Rhinestones. You can see the dimension created above and below too. The roses above were shaped with a bone folder.

IMG_0878 smallI cut out more elements from the paper sheet and added them to the top of the page too and added a small sentiment from the Collectables pack.

IMG_0880 smallTo finish the page, I cut out the word “happy” from Bestie which I trimmed and embellished with a glitter pen from the Kaisercolour pen set and stuck across the bottom of the photograph.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this, please check  back later in the week for more creations from our lovely team.

Until then, take care,

Fly Free – Birthday Girl

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with the stunning Fly Free by Kaisercraft this month. Although not a new collection, this one is perfect for some summer sunshine and holiday photographs with its beautiful vibrant colours and patterns. I will be using the papers from the Fly Free 12 x12 Paper Pack.

IMG_0807 smallThis paper pack also has a fabulous sticker sheet which I wanted to focus on so I began by creating a frame using the many phrases & words and some Coconut Kaisercard.

sticker-sheet-fly-free-collectionWith a little trimming they fit perfectly, measuring approximately 14.5 x 17 cm.

IMG_0788 small    IMG_0789 small

I also wanted to use the beautiful rose border so created another frame, approximately 18.5 x 21 cm,  adding them to left edge less 3 blooms. To the right I added the leave border, cut to size.

IMG_0791 smallMy photograph is 9 x 12 cm, layered onto Partner paper from the Paper Pack. I inked the edges with Distress ink – Seedless Preserves.

The larger frame above was taken from the centre of a piece of Coconut Kaisercard which I gutted to 3 cm from edge, to this I added a piece of BF measuring 28 cm square and a piece of Friend 21 x 24 cm. Both of these have been distressed around the edge using a Tim Holtz tool.

IMG_0812 smallBack to the sticker sheet and those beautiful butterflies. I wanted them raised from the page so added a piece of scrap paper behind and “de-tacked” (technical term) the edges 🙂 shaped with a Bone folder and added with mounting foam tape along the leaf border edge.

IMG_0808 smallI recently treated myself to the lovely Large Flourish dies so cut these from Coconut Kaisercard – an absolute staple for me – and added these bottom left. The lovely blooms above are from the Collectables pack, trimmed, shaped and raised on mounting foam tape, with a bow of crushed white ribbon. I fussy cut some of the leaves from QT from the paper pack and poked them underneath the edges.

IMG_0810 smallAt the top of this side I added a large butterfly from the Collectables, again shaped and raised.

IMG_0811 smallThe date disc above is another element from the Collectables to which I added the date and edged with stickles. The 3 roses I had left from the sticker sheet were trimmed and two added here along with the leaves too and one to the other border.

Finally a copious amount of Stickles in various colours and some Hot Pink Rhinestones to finish.

Thank-you for taking a look and don’t forget to check back during the week for more inspiration from the team.

Take care,

~ Linda ~

Treasured Memories – Finders Keepers

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with my last layout for April with Finders Keepers Collection from Kaisercraft.

IMG_0592 smallI began with some Coconut Kaisercard and gutted the centre 1″ from the edge, then stamped all the way round with the Scalloped Lace stamp and some Faded Jeans Distress Ink. It doesn’t give a crisp image but I quite like the effect on the textured card. Note to self – buy a new craft mat! Apologies! So the corners were tidy, I masked before stamping with a post-it note.

IMG_0463 small   IMG_0462 small

As the main background I chose Collectable, the script side, this was trimmed to 11″ . I have focused on the following pages – Collectors and Montage as sometimes it can be hard to use these so I thought I’d share some ideas.

collectors-finders-keepers-collection montage-finders-keepers-collection

The panel saying “Breathe it all in” fit perfectly with my photograph but as the words were not appropriate placed my photo here instead having matted it onto Cherry and Buttercup Kaisercard . Photo is 6×4″ with mats 1/4″ bigger. I added Buttercup 1/4 mat to the panel too and gutted the centre.

IMG_0593 smallFrom the sticker sheet I found a phrase that fit and layered it over the “love you forever” tag on Montage and also Cherry and Buttercup Kaisercard, you don’t have to use the words printed. It’s raised on mounting foam tape as is the Collectable which has been shaped and placed over the edge.

IMG_0597 smallThe “Title” was cut from the same sheet, Montage, another mat of Buttercup.

IMG_0596 smallI love the notice board  from Montage but the bicycle didn’t fit my layout so I tucked it under the edge as above. The Collectables has lots of little tags so I added these shaped with an Ice blue gem and a line of black pen to look like pins.

IMG_0594 smallA it of fussy cutting next to add floral embellishments to the corners from Curio with a spattering of Glitter glue.  Finally some gems in Lippy red and ice blue, plus some washi tape and I was done.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, check back soon for another layout by the team.

Until then, take care,

~ Linda ~

Picture Perfect with Finders Keepers

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with another layout using the beautiful Finders Keepers Collection from Kaisercraft.

IMG_0494 small useThis time I focused on the beautiful sticker sheet as below, isn’t it fabulous!

sticker-sheet-finders-keepers-collectionI began with a sheet of Coconut Kaisercard and added a 3 1/2″ strip of Curio with the stripes vertical and a 3 1/2″ strip of Cherry Kaisercard beneath. These were joined using a cut off strip from Snapshot. Below these another row of cameras from Snapshot. All edges have been inked using Festive Berries Distress Ink & a Mini Blending tool – these are brilliant!

Untitled-Duplicated-01 smallNext I added my photo 4 x 5″ on a matt of Snapshot (the reverse side) and on to the gorgeous stickers. I wanted some definition so stuck some scrap paper to the reverse of the large floral spray and some mounting foam tape for height – this was placed just below my photo.

IMG_0498 smallThe red lace border was placed along the top edge, along with part of a line of sentiments, they don’t have to be used all together. A couple of elements from the Collectables were added to the left of my photo too with some crystals.

IMG_0497 smallThe blue lace border along the bottom with the rest of the phrase. I also added one of the rectangular word stickers above the camera border.

IMG_0504 smallTickets were added to the right, also on foam tape for height.

Finally, lost of Lippy Red and Ice Blue Rhinestones and stickles – you can’t  have a layout with sparkles – it’s the law! 🙂

There are still lots of stickers left over for more layouts too – great value!

Thank-you for taking the time to read my post, I hope you have enjoyed my journey. Check back soon for more inspiration from the team, until then, take care,

Blossoms 2015 – Finders Keepers

Hello Everyone,

Linda here with a layout using the fabulous new Finders Keepers collection from Kaisercraft which is perfect for the spring.

IMG_0472 smallMy page began with Ticket Gloss a specialist paper which, as the name suggests, is glossed – unfortunately its not clear in photos – and some Red Kaisermist.  There are lots of ways to use the mist, this month I spritzed the page. Holding your hand approximately 10″ above the paper (in your specialised mist station – aka pizza delivery box) and sweep across the area you want coloured.

IMG_0445 smallI then took the lid off and used the ink on the tube to splat by tapping the top.  You can leave it to dry naturally or use a heat gun to speed things up.

IMG_0449 smallI then cut a piece from Admit One 12 x 5 1/2″. cut around the tab and bottom of the flower on Ticket Gloss and slid  it underneath.  Next a piece 3 x 6″ of Treat was added to the right, followed by one row of camera’s from Snapshot right across the page.

IMG_0474 smallMy photo was trimmed to 4×4″ and matted with layers of Cherry Weave and Buttercup Kaisercard. This was added at an angle towards the left side.

I found a great phrase on Medley (do what you love) and matted it in the same way as my photo, then placed bottom right overlapping the picture.

Next a little stamping using the Scalloped Lace stamp, some black ink and the Treasures paper, you can create a length as long as you wish as it joins perfectly. I trimmed the edge and added along the bottom and top left of the Admit one paper.

IMG_0473 smallBlooms were cut from Curio the layered up bottom left of the photo. Don’t worry if the sprays are not repeated, just add a layer of a similar flower as you can above, it looks fine. I’ve used mounting tape for height.

I also added some of the Collectables – the tickets and floral spray to the right of the picture.

IMG_0475 smallLastly, a strip of words from the Sticker Sheet along the edge of the lace (above) and  copious amount of gems in Lippy Red and Ice Blue.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this, check back later in the week for more lovely pages from the Design Team.

Until then, take care,

~ Linda ~

Fresh Air & Sunshine – Coastal Escape

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with a final project using the gorgeous Coastal Escape by Kaisercraft.

Hope you all have had a lovely Easter!

IMG_0361 smallI began with Coconut Kaisercard this time, and cut “rays” of paper from Seagrass, Netting, Palms & Coral. The approximate measurements are shown below, there is a 1/4″ gap between and around.

IMG_0355 smallNext it was into the “Spray station” aka pizza box for a splattering of Turquoise KaiserMist.

IMG_0356 smallI love how versatile these are – remember they don’t have to be sprayed every time as you will see…………..

I then cut a strip from Discovery approximately 8 x 3 1/2″ and place @ 2″ from the bottom.

IMG_0362 smallA piece of burlap was cut 6 x 7″  (from a 6″ roll) and the stitched edges removed. My photograph is 3 1/2 x 4 1/2″ matted onto a lovely piece from the paper pad with starfish on. Once fixed to the burlap, I frayed the edges leaving a small border – this was then stuck in place bottom left @ 1″ in. I cut several fronds out using the Native flourish and also Daisy and coloured elements using Squeezed Lemonade and Turquoise KaiserMist and a brush – they paint beautifully and sparkle once dried. These were place top right and bottom left of the photo.

IMG_0363 smallLots of Collectables were added too along with punched circles from Coral, Shells (12×12 and the paper pad) & Seagrass. Dimension was created with mounting foam tape.

IMG_0364 smallThe threads removed from the burlap were tied into a knot and added to the layout to create more texture.

IMG_0365 smallAnd, of course, lots of pearls!

I hope you have enjoyed my Coastal Escapes, more from my fellow teamies to follow soon.

Until next time, take care,

~ Linda ~

Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses – Coastal Escape

Hello Everyone,

Linda here with another layout using the stunning Coastal Escape collection from Kaisercraft.IMG_0336 smallHow do you plan your layouts? Do you draw the design first or, like me, design as you go along? I ask the question as this layout evolved and changed, was pulled apart and re-jigged before I got to this stage and was happy with the outcome – there is no right or wrong way though.

IMG_0329 smallThis was how it began, I started with Shoreline but wanted the wave at the bottom. A circle was cut from Coral @ 8 1/2″ in diameter with a thin border of Duck Egg Kaisercard. The strips across come from Water “The sand may brush off….” and the rope, Sandy Toes was cut from Discovery, and the blue from the reverse of Water @ 2 3/4″ wide.

But once completed it looked “wrong” so it all changed. I added photographs 3 1/2 x 5″ with a small border of Shells, Split the words Sandy Toes, added above a cut strip of the rope and topped with a small strip of Shells. Then lots of elements from The Collectables (and yes, you are reading correctly, these pictures were taken in the UK in October 2014!) which are raised up using mounting foam tape. A piece Burlap roll was cut to @ 4″ long and the sewn edge cut off, the bottom was pleated and stitched to form a semi-circle with a button in the centre then the outer edge frayed.

IMG_0337 smallI also ran a back stitch of thread around the inner circle of Coral and some XX’s too.

IMG_0339 small“Salty kisses” was added under the photos with more of the rope and The Collectables raised and overlapped using mounting foam tape.

IMG_0341 smallThe net above was cut from the paper pad (Netting) which is glossed – lush – and placed top right with the cut-off strip from Shoreline.

IMG_0338 smallThe matching stamp set has this beautiful shell which I stamped onto Shells paper then cut out and added bottom left. More words from Discovery were added too.

Finally some pearls and Stickles for sparkle – and version 2 was complete.

I guess the reason for this story is that it’s never to late to change direction and rescue something you think was lost 🙂

Check back later in the week for more beautiful project from the Design Team, until then, take care.

The Swimming Pigs – Coastal Escape

Hi Everyone, Linda here.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing with the fabulous Kaisercraft Coastal Escape collection this month – the most stunning papers and beautiful colours. I knew immediately which photo’s to use!

IMG_0228 smallI began with Underwater and the clear stamp set, adding some coral to the bottom right of the page and also, part-stamped the middle left too afterwards.

IMG_0223 smalI flicked spots onto the page using Turquoise Kaisermist, the delivery boxes make fabulous spray stations.

IMG_0217 smallI cut my photographs into circles @ 3 1/4″ diameter along with a selection of larger and smaller circles using Shells, Seagrass and Water, ensuring I got the bubbles, then arranged them on the page for placement.

IMG_0229 smallAll the edges were then distressed and inked with Faded Jeans Distress ink. The top layers are raised on mounting tape for dimension.

Back to the stamps next, I used the shell stamp on Shells and Latte Kaisercard, then cut them out and shaped them with a bone folder.  I also stamped and cut out the seahorses and some starfish from the Latte Kaisercard. These were spritzed with the Turquoise Kaisermist which left a lovely sheen.

IMG_0231 smallThey have been added with mounting foam for more dimension. More flicks of the mist were added too.

IMG_0230 smallFinally lots of strings of pearls were added, to look like more bubbles.

IMG_0232 smallThe title was cut from Licorice Kaisercard.

Check back soon for more fabulous layouts from the team, until then,

Take care,

~ Linda ~

You’re Great – #Me

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with a layout made with the fabulous #Me Collection from Kaisercraft.

IMG_9916 smallI began with a sheet of Coconut Kaisercard and gutted the centre 2″ from the edge, followed by a piece of Brey Kaisercard which has been edge with a Martha Stewart Punch-around-the-page, deep edge. Once done I gutted the centre 3″ from the white edge. A frame of Licorice Kaisercard was last, measuring 8 3/4″ square and gutted to 1″.

IMG_9911 smallLots of gutting there but it saves cardstock and makes the pages lighter. Next came a square cut from Goals keeping the floral pattern on the left. Faux stitching was added to the edge with a Black Micron Pen.

IMG_9912 smallMy photograph was trimmed to 3 x 6″ and mounted onto the left over Licorice Kaisercard, along with a piece from the reverse of Goals (grid) and a message cut from Encourage which I raised on mounting foam. Tabs were added from the Sticker Sheet top right and bottom left.

IMG_9913 smallI made the flowers using Burlap ribbon and a Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die. I shaped them the same way as I did roses previously and included a layer of white mesh. The smaller blooms have a button stitched through and the whole thing is glued together.

IMG_9914 smallOnce in place, I added some foliage cut with another Sizzix die, made some smaller roses with paper from The Paper Pad and punched some daisies and leaves. I used the cut-off strip from goals to add a row of hearts too. Then, back to the Micron Pen and a White Gel Pen to add stitching to the foliage. Lastly, some Black Rhinestones dotted around to add flower centres and accents.

Check back later for more inspiration from the team, until then,

Take care

Life is Precious – #Me

Hi Everyone,

Linda here with another layout using the beautiful #Me from Kaisercraft.

IMG_9941 smallI began by gutting a sheet of Licorice Kaisercard to 1″ from the edge, then trimmed Notes die-cut paper to create a small border.

IMG_9930 smallWith the leftover piece of Licorice Kaisercard, I cut to 4×6″ and embossed this and the smaller piece with Doodles folder. It gives such a beautifully crisp image!

IMG_9931 smallWith a small piece of cut-n-dry foam and white paint, I skimmed the surface to create a chalk board effect.  I added these together in a long strip to the left of the page.

IMG_9933 smallA sheet from the paper pad was inked and placed at an angle to the right and another to mat my photograph on to. This is 4×5″ with a small border using Brey Kaisercard.  These lovely banners and arrow are also from the pad, they are die-cuts at the back. I’ve raised them on mounting foam.  To disguise the join in the embossed pieces, I added a border from the sticker sheet and continued it across the whole page, plus more of the Burlap roll which I trimmed and frayed.

IMG_9936 smallMy flowers were punched with another sheet from the paper pad along with the large foliage. These were placed bottom left of my photograph once I had added faux stitching with a Black Micron pen. I used the threads pulled from the Burlap to tuck under the flowers and knot the buttons, then added some small white leaves to complete it.

Finally some stickers from the sticker sheet and Black Rhinestones, et voila – done.

I can’t wait to show you what I have to play with next – it’s soooooooo beautful!

Until then, take care,

~ Linda ~
