Many thanks to all the Delegates who made our very first Merly Impressions Retreat so very special and so much fun. We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. This post is about the projects at the Retreat. Altogether there were four layout Kits and two Beyond the Page kits. Each of the kits included full detailed instructions and all the stash needed to complete the project.
Project One – Family Photo Storage Box
For the first BTP project I wanted to make a family photo storage box. I came up with the idea of using the BTP Recipe Box which worked perfectly as it included dividers so I thought it would be perfect for storing the photos. I also used Kaisercraft’s gorgeous 75 Cents Collection, a quirky and vintage looking collection with rustic design elements plus butterflies & flowers in shades of teal, toffee & black. I was really pleased with the result.
Project Two – Frame & Stand
For the second project I wanted to do a free standing frame so used the lovely “Dome Plaque” and the “Layout Stand” worked perfectly with it. I used the lovely Flora Delight Collection which features exquisite floral patterns with a colour palette of purple, pink and green. I also used a paper from the “Base Coat” Collection, which complimented the other papers and The sentiment rub-ons finished off the frame perfectly.
Project Three – “To Love” Layout
This layout is called “To Love”. I just had to use the gorgeous Porcelain Rose Collection which features floral patterns and birds in bold colours of red, blue & pink.
Project Four – “Picture Perfect” Layout
This layout is called Picture Perfect. I just love this photo of my daughter when she was young and the gorgeous “Miss Empire” Collection (just released in June) compliments it perfectly. The collection features floral patterns and has a vintage, steampuck feel to it in colours of browns, oranges and greens – a very versatile collection.
Project Five – “Happiness” Layout
I have called this layout “Happiness”. I used the lovely Elegance Collection which features exquisite floral patterns in a sophisticated colour scheme of gold, white, emerald and silver – as soon as I saw this collection I knew I had to use it for the retreat.
Project Six – “Best Time Ever” Layout
This layout is called “Best Time Ever”. I used the funky Hopscotch Collection which features fun shapes & friendship quotes in bright funky colours of pink, green & blue. My layout is all about “Merly Impressions”, the Merly Crop and us. I was really pleased with how this turned out, I particularly liked the little booklet of photo’s.
Thanks for looking.
